We’ve recently moved to a new town with several more shopping opportunities like Sam’s Club. I was able to go last week with no kids in tow and just browse. As I was exploring the aisles, I came across a ten pack of nice socks and decided to buy them and get rid of all my old socks that didn’t match.
For my company’s online convention, I was asked what my vision was for the next year. I said, “I want to exude abundance and inspire that in others.” When I think about my underwear and sock drawer and the contents being old (like back from college kind of old), mismatched and just a mess I thought, wait that’s not exuding abundance and definitely isn’t going to inspire anyone else! So when I walked by those socks at Sam’s it reminded me of how a scarcity mindset had crept back into my life.
Suze Orman did one of the sessions at our virtual convention and something she said really stuck with me was, “powerful people attract money, powerless people repel money”.
I really want to dig into this concept and work on attracting money!
Money is immoral. It isn’t good or bad. It flows through people. In order for money to do good things, it has to flow through good people. So keep that in mind when you’re thinking about money!
When you think of powerful, what other words come to mind for you? For me when I think of powerful people,I think of confident, successful, influential, impactful, they know what they want and they know where they’re going. Are those characteristics that describe you?
Now how about powerless? I think of powerless people as weak, whiny, a worrier, or a wanderer. People that I describe as wanderers are people that haven’t decided if they’re all in. Until you decide to be all in, it's always going to be easy to get distracted and let your eye wander to other opportunities. Focusing and changing things about YOU is hard but it really helps you grow!
Is it your identity for money to always be tight, or to feel poor? This may be the story you’ve told yourself. But this doesn’t have to be your truth! You can watch others that have the qualities you admire, and we have the ability to change and focus on what we want to be, not what we were.
When I started my network marketing journey, I was terrified. But I printed out a picture of Hawaii and a Lexus and wanted those to drive me. I believed what I could be and have and I went all in! I didn’t dabble, I chose to be a professional. I got business cards and a website. I studied network marketers that achieved the success I wanted. And I went for it!
I had someone reach out to me recently that felt stuck in their business and they asked for one piece of advice I would give to her. I simply asked what book she was reading and she said nothing currently. That’s a sure sign you're not growing if you’re not learning. If you really want to be successful, you’ll be reading books and learning about how successful people grow, change, and become who you want to be.
I want to challenge you to nail down what you’re learning and what you’re teaching about your learning. Leaders teach people things. Do a live, or a training video and teach something important that you’ve learned. Powerful people are learners and leaders!
