This is a special episode of You're Worth It to discuss what's going on right now in the world and what role you can play. Recorded 3/17
Kindness is the thing that can change people. I've seen people use rage, shame, and anger to try to get their beliefs across in the past and it breaks my heart! It is so important to display kindness and love to displace the fear in everyone's hearts.
I've been praying for wholeness over the year. Before the craziness of current times even started, I've had wholeness on my heart and on my mind. It was already an election year where people shout their strong opinions causing a divide. Now we're facing unknowns that really let the fear creep in.
Years ago when I would post on social media and someone disagreed with me I felt the strong need to debate and win my battles. Now things seem clearer and I don't feel strongly about being the person that proves myself right. HE fights our battles for us and no one on social media is worth our time and energy to debate!
We're all cooped up in our houses and spending extra time with our kiddos and families. And I just want you to remember that there are going to be good days and bad days. There will be days that you rock the homeschool lessons, find cool art projects for them to do and take care of yourself and workout too! But then there are some days that you may watch Netflix all day and that's pretty much it. That's ok. We're in a time of trauma and of crisis the last thing you need to be is too hard on yourself. There are no rulebooks for this crazy time. Take it one day at a time and just do what you can. There's no "right" way to do this! Just focus on being present with those you love!
I'm choosing to look at this quarantine as a time to connect with loved ones and spend intentional time with them. Take media breaks when you can. Try to disconnect from the things that are causing you stress and take comfort in the things you can enjoy!
I believe that discernment comes from God alone and that we have to actively LISTEN to what he is trying to tell us. We can't hear HIM if we're listening to others 24/7. When your thoughts are getting difficult to wade through, make sure you ask yourself "is this thought useful." If you're trying to find a way to busy yourself tackle a different closet or different spot daily.
I want you to know that I am praying for you! And I hope you'll join me in praying for kindness and wholeness for the world.
