I've been feeling unsettled during all of this. I've been feeling the pressure of being a leader and stepping up. Every day has not felt easy. But really, I've been feeling a strange sense of grief.
And may it not be grief in the traditional sense, but when you think about the phases of grief you can see how it relates.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
Here's an article that gives some great insight on how this event relates to grief.

The power is in acceptance! Humans cling to certainty. It feels like if we know for sure when it's over, that it's easier to live through it. But there's no way to know! We've got to focus on today and take just one day at a time. If you let your mind worry about the future, the present will slip away from you.

Keep in mind, there may be a new normal. We've gone through trauma and it's not easy. We can be gentle on ourselves There is no right or wrong way to deal with grief. There is no proper way to process what we're going through right now. You know how to get out of it and when it's time you will change your focus, your thoughts, and your intention.

One thought that is helping me bring back my focus is "if this ends tomorrow. will I have done all I wanted to with my family." Those precious moments with my family is when I truly feel the presence of God. Take a break from the news and social media. Press into what the Lord is teaching and showing you.

One verse that I've been holding on to during these uncertain times is "against all hope, Abraham in hope believed" Romans 4:18. I firmly believe in saying verses out loud, repeating them, and walking with them. I want to encourage you to cling to hope, lean into discernment, and walk-in authority.

I had the privilege of hearing Christine Caine speak last fall and one thing she said that really spoke to me was "impossible is where God begins." For example, you can talk to someone across the country or across the world with no delay. We forget that's kind of impossible! It's crazy to think about that you can see and speak to someone so easily now when generations back we definitely didn't think that would be possible. So don't rule out anything just because it seems crazy in your eyes, it's God that has the control!

I have a feeling that life is going to be different once this period of social distancing and self-quarantine is over. Be ready for a season of change. And again give yourself grace and be gentle as we all try to adjust to our new normal.

I want to encourage you to try or learn something new at this time. There is so much creativity coming out of this isolation. If there is anything you have wanted to do or create GO FOR IT! People are providing free lessons for amazing things and there is no reason you can't be a part of it!
