This week I’m re-releasing one of my favorite episodes. I’m joined by Nick and Renee Fouts of Cedar Rock Ministries for a powerful conversation about rest and reconnection.

I think this episode is incredibly important in our current time. Even if you listened the first time, I encourage you to revisit it because you’ll see the need for rest in a whole new light.

A lot of us have been able to stay home during this crisis and even though you’re at home, you may be feeling far from rested. This episode will help you tune into what helps give your soul rest, not just your body. Being home with your family also gives you the time to focus on reconnection. Tuning out from media and turning your attention to your family will help you focus on what’s truly important.

I've got a free resource for you to download to help in your journey of rest and reconnection. Click here to download it now! We work through some of the issues you may have encountered and ways you can find intentional rest and connection with yourself, your family, and God!

If you’re not able to be home with your family during this time, I just want to say thank you and give you the biggest virtual hug. The people on the frontlines of this are tirelessly working to keep us safe, healthy and fed. I could not be more grateful and proud of your hard work. If you haven’t lately take the time to thank the essential personnel in your life!

As busy entrepreneurs work, work, work can easily lead to burnout.  I’ve found for myself and many of the leaders on my team that what may seem counterproductive at first is the most important piece to success.  REST.  Also connection and awareness with your spouse, yourself and God.  We often need to slow down, to speed up.

Nick and Renee Fouts are of Searcy, Arkansas are the founders of Cedar Rock Ministries.

It is an organization very dear to our family, one in which we serve on the board of trustees. It is a non-profit ministry for married couples and individuals who want to grow in their relationship with God and with each other. CRM’s mission is to provide effective opportunities for people to have a transforming encounter with God through seminars, retreats, counseling and spiritual direction.

At the heart of CRM is the belief that we are called to rest in the love and goodness of God and to live lives that flow out of that profound reality. So many Christians today live very busy, anxious lives that are marked more by fear and striving in their energy than by faith and serving in the strength of the indwelling Christ. Our understanding of spiritual formation is that growth is primarily a by-product of resting in the Presence of God.

I loved speaking with Nick and Renee about how they decided to form Cedar Rock, why rest and reconnection are so important and what steps you should take on your journey to connect deeper.

One thing that they teach on is the “red dot”. This concept says that your “red dot” is where you are right now. Compare it to the “You are Here” sign at a mall. The red dot tells you exactly where you are at that moment. It doesn't define you but gives you a chance to slow down enough to be present with what is going on with you in the moment. Awareness instead of avoidance. You can communicate your “red dot” with your spouse, friends, family or people you coach to provide better connection, insight, and understanding. So powerful in practice at this one of a kind retreats and that just scratches the surface as to what you experience at a Cedar Rock Retreat.

I can't wait for you to get to experience #walkinginworth first hand through rest and Cedar Rock!
