Just over a week ago now we got a Peloton bike. So grateful and excited! If you go to their website, there's a two to three month back order and I'm so thankful that my good friend was willing to sell hers so we got one quickly. There's this cool idea. Like I decided to think I talked to you guys about this briefly. I'll tell you real quick as a reminder. I'm working with my trainer twice a week and then by needing to get cardio in on my off days. And I just local spin class, loved it, sweated a bunch, felt like I was really doing some toning exercises and getting cardio in. Our good friends delivered it to us and Rob brought it in the house and put it right in the living room. The main floor of our house has the bedrooms and my office, kitchen, dining room. Like everything we use regularly on is on the first floor. Like we've got a row machine, an assault bike machine, a weight bench. Rob has worked hard to set up a nice workout space. But it could be a week or two before I even go down there.
So out of sight, out of mind, right? But he rolled that Peloton bike right out there in the middle of our living room where the TV is and their couches are and it’s open concept to our kitchen. The bike is right there in the middle of the living room and the kitchen, just right in the way of everything. It got me laughing the other day because I walked by it like I do, you know, 30 times a day. And I was like, Oh, I need to get on that Peloton bike. So I made the time to go to do that because I literally ran into it as I was walking across the room. And it reminded me that if, if we had put this downstairs I may not get on it as often or at all.
But it is a right in our space. But I kind of like it because when things are out of sight, they're out of mind. When I see it every day, I'm reminded, Hey, I can hop on here and do a quick 30-minute ride. Even if I worked out with my trainer today, I could hop on here real quick and do a ride since it's literally right here. It just made me think about the culture in the world right now, like out of sight, out of mind, I'm going to give you this little tip for you. The simplest things are the most profound. There are certain things in your life you need to put right in front of your face. And so you are reminded, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. So you see it every day. And there are certain things in your life you need to hide.
There's a lot of things I don't like about Facebook right now, but on Instagram, they give you an unfollow button. Are you aware of this? You all have to protect your energy, protect your sanity, and above all else, protect your peace. So let's think about really quickly, the things in our life that we need to put out of sight and the things that we need to put back into our sight, whether that's putting your workout equipment where you literally step on it every morning or let's talk about some more positives real quick. What are some things you need to put in sight all the time? Put that Bible out there on your kitchen counter, right by where you grab your drink, the coffee machine, put it out there, put it in sight where you can, you can catch that glimpse as your coffee is brewing.
Even though you're running late and you're getting the kids out the door it's right there. And you can look at it real quick. I told you guys before this, but I love to have scriptures and sayings and positive things all over my house. I did a whole episode a couple of weeks ago about how I printed out the picture of this girl, Chontal Duncan. who I do not know, but she is six-foot, one or two, taller than me and has muscles and the body that I'm trying to work towards. The body I always thought I couldn't have because I'm so tall. But since I see it, it's in my sight. I believe it more. I think about it more. I focus on it more and it inspires me more.
Let's talk about some negative things. Some things we could maybe get out of our sight. This is a super tangible example. Just being real candid with you guys, I've voted for Trump and someone, who doesn't know me, on social media called me a white supremacist. And I was just like, really? But then it got me thinking what's in their sight on repeat because, for me and my sight on repeat, I follow a lot of people of color who are conservative Republicans. I have a ton of proof that I'm not a white supremacist and who I voted for isn't So it was just like I have on repeat. I don't know what they're watching on repeat. But it seems like it is telling them a different story. I'm praying for you all and for myself, for wisdom and discernment and all things that there may be some things that we've always trusted to be truthful but it's not.
When I pay attention to some people that you really, really trust and respect and who have the same biblical worldview as you. There are a lot of people that may be famous or in Hollywood, or have a lot of influence or have a lot of followers. I'm not telling you to trust what they have to say. I'm asking you, who is somebody that you want to be like in all areas of life? Not just one area, because they're talented, I'm talking about in their homes, in their families, in their church and how they, not just proclaim God or Jesus, but they live that out as a disciple. I would pay attention to that.
I want you guys to have fresh eyes to see the things that you need to have more in your sight and fresh eyes. See some things that you need to have out of your sight and do make the effort to get them out of your sight!
