102| How to get different results!

Do you want to get different results? Do you want to get different results? That's what we're talking about today. So, I coach a lot of people inside of the Mentorship and just from personal relationships and lots of other areas where people are just aren't getting the results that they wanted and it's just easier to blame somebody else or say this isn't for me or this business, doesn't work or this marriage, doesn't work or money's not for me, or I can't figure out my time.

101| Silent Retreat To 10x Your Life.

I went on a silent retreat. Well first of all, let me start with this. Yes, a silent retreat to help 10 x my life. That may seem counterintuitive to go to a silent retreat to 10 x your life and business but yet it is 1 of the most helpful things I've done. I am so on a 10 x is easier than two x kick it trance. It was the it's one of the most expansive books I have ever read.

Welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose podcast. I'm Jessica Hefley. We have a quick episode for you today. I like these like quick ones so sprinkled in there. Okay, so this one we are going to I want you to go listen to the song. It's called Seasons by Hillsong I'll put it in the show notes. I can't play it for you right now because of copyrights and all the things. So I'm going to literally read the lyrics to you. This was a song that someone shared with me. It's actually from their Christmas album and they shared it not during the Christmas season. I consider this an all year round song. Okay because talks about Jesus and the birth and anyways, you'll you'll find out soon enough. But I just think it was in when it was years ago and I was in a really hard season and this song just spoke to me and it's actually called Seasons that we actually are in different seasons of our life. So I'm just going to read these lyrics to you kind of. Process with you out loud why it was so powerful to me and encourage you to cling to hope this book is litter of this book. This song is literally called Seasons and so it talks about the different seasons that you are in in your life but to cling to hope. Cling to the promise. So even though this song was first introduced to me years ago in a very painful hard season of my life I still get so emotional when I hear this or when I observe someone else going through a hard season and not giving up or going through a hard season and feeling like they might give up. I will cling to hope for them, even if they don't, even if they don't know about it, and so for you as high-level entrepreneurs as overwhelmed business owners, my plea my invitation for you is to cling. Hope if you are in a hard season cling to hope that that a next season can be completely different for you. So I'm just going to read it I'll probably stop along the way and talk. But here we go: Like the frost on a rose, Winter comes for us all, oh how nature aquaints us. With the nature of patience like a seed that is like a seed in the snow I've been buried to grow for your promise is loyal from seed to Sequoia, I love that theme,. We're gonna hear it over and over in the song seed to Sequoia like represent. Let's pause okay, how little is a seed? Okay oh it is little. How big is a Sequoia? Have you guys ever been to a Sequoia forest me and Rob did before kids we went up the California coast up highway ten or highway one.. Anyways, we went from the bottom all the way to the top and this pro tip 30 minutes north of San Francisco is Muir woods M-U-I-R it's one of my most favorite. It might be my most favorite place I've ever been to in the United States of America. It's a redwood forest. It's Sequoias. They're humongous and it's like this mythical land. It was just so. I want to go back I want to take my kids back but they're just so huge. They're huge and you just feel so small I think I love that anytime that I am able to be near something that reminds me of how small I am, and how big our creator is that's why I love going to the mountains. That's why I love going to the ocean because being around and while I'm going to Sequoia Field it's because Sequoias are so much bigger than me. So anyways, back to the song from so okay, your promise is loyal from seed to sequoia right? from the tiny seed to the human, good Sequoia your promise is loyal okay. And it says I know kind of want this thing and I know though the winter is long, even richer the harvest, it brings though my waiting, prolongs even greater your promise to me, like a seed I believe that my season will come, Lord, I think of your love. Like the long winter sun and as I gaze I am blinded in the light of your brightness and like a fire to the snow, I'm renewed in your warmth, melt the ice of this wild soul till the barren is beautiful. And I know though the winter is long even richer the harvest it brings though my waiting prolongs even greater your promise to me, like a seed I believe that my season will come, oh and here's my favorite part, and it's like the rift and the song and it changes tempo and it changes tone and it's just like I can't lets it do it without crying. Okay, and this part says, I can see the promise, I can see the future, You're the God of seasons, and I'm just in the winter, and all I know of Harvest is that it's worth my patience, then if you're not done working God, I'm not done waiting. You can see my promise, even in the winter because you're the God of greatness, even in a manger for all I know of, seasons is that you take your time you could have saved us in a second but instead you sent a child, I can't. It's a process! This is in the end of the song but we're pausing for a minute. It's a process. Your life is a process! Cling to hope! He could have saved us in an instant but he sent a child. He sent a baby in a manger who had to grow and mature. And it wasn't even until he was thirty years old until he started his ministry. Okay, it took around 33 years actually it took you know thousands of years for the Promise. Okay, and but it was just like ah. Could have done it in a second but he is so sovereign and he sees the bigger picture. He knows what's happening and so if you're and so my favorite line of all that we're not even done is, if you're not done working God, I'm not done waiting. Oh. It's so hard in that season. Of waiting in that season where you wish you weren't in and or in that season that you wish were over, that season that you wish you were having a different results, or a different outcome or whatever is so painful for you. I want if you're not done working God then I'm not done waiting and there is such an element of trust. And that in release in that and believing there is a purpose in the waiting, believing that there is a bigger picture and clinging to hope I kind of want to read that last paragraph again. So I am okay so I want to read that favorite part just again and then I'll finish up the song. It says I can see the promise, I can see the future. You're the God of seasons, and I'm just in the winter, and all I know of harvest is that it's worth my patience, then if you're not done working God, I'm not done waiting, and it's my favorite part. You can see my promise even in the winter, because you're the God of greatness, even in a manger. For all I know of seasons is that you take your time, you could have saved us in a second, instead you sent a child though. The winter is long even richer the harvest it brings, though my waiting prolongs even greater your promise to me, like a seed I believe that my season will come. And when I finally see my tree still I believe that there's a season to come, like a seed you are sown for the sake of us all from Bethlehem's soil grew Calvaries' Sequoia.

That seed that you're in cling to that seed of promise because that will grow into a Sequoia that promise that he is giving you who okay, that's all I mean um i. This is pretty self- explanatory. Go listen to the song the end that's your homework. Go listen to the song. Allow it to speak to you. Listen to it with the lyrics, listen to it on repeat. It's one of my songs on the playlist that was from a couple episodes ago, I need to get my list in front of me that tells me the episode numbers I'll also put that in the show notes where I have a playlist that is all about like gratitude and expansiveness so enjoy be blessed. Thanks for being here with my tears. Thanks for letting me share something that was really meaningful to me and still is I know will bless you! Bless ya, see you later.

Welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose podcast! I am Jessica Hefley, and today we're talking about my wannabe Madonna Arms - I don't really care for a Madonna but she's got some ripped arms and has for years and I have said for ten plus years I want ripped arms. The only problem is I don't have ripped arms still! Is that a problem? We're gonna explore that, because I was feeling so much shame around saying I wanted something, doing it for a little while, and then stopping and restarting. Doing it again, working out regularly, consistently and then stopping repeat, repeat, repeat! I felt like I've made so much progress in so many other areas of my life. Are you hearing this about me? Maybe you’re like ripped arms is not your magical dream. Okay, but I want you to put this in light of your business. Almost everything that gives me breakthroughs in my business comes from a personal story that seems so unrelated. Where in your business have you started, stopped, started, stopped, started, stopped? Maybe you didn't even recognize that it was shame, but you just feel so much shame about starting again or you're already making up the scenario that “What's the point? Because I'm already go I'm going to start it and stop it.”, or there's fear around but this is what I want I want to try again. But I don't know how or I don't feel like I have the time I don't feel like I have the capacity. Have no idea how I'm going to get the results. The results seem so hard. All of those invitations to talk to the coach! I'm here! I'm available! Prosperity With Purpose Mentorship is where we have breakthroughs. But for me that meant time for me to talk to my coach which hadn't been that long until I had talked to my coach before because I very regularly, “Talk to Coach!”. I have lots of coaches, but I was noticing I think you just kind of get to the point I don't know this usually happens how it works for me. I just get to the point where I'm like I'm fed up with it like I need to do something about this! I don't have the results that I want and I'm not going to just like sit on the couch and not do nothing! So, it's just like the shame cycle of what should I do but I don't have the result I want, so I ask for help! Light bulb! I ask for help! When we started the conversation really what I got down to was I was feeling dumb. I was feeling dumb that I can't figure this out. I was feeling dumb that I'm a life coach. I know that I need to put it on my calendar and plan it and schedule it ahead of time and just do it. But of course y'all know what to do. I know what to do, for the most part, we know what to do. Where the invitation is covering the reason why we're not doing what we know we should do, right? Which usually is almost always involves some sort of shame story you put on yourself, some sort of condemnation, some sort of against yourself. So I was feeling dumb that I couldn't figure it out which I know is an invitation then to unhook some areas of judgment I have towards myself, some areas of condemnation I have towards myself and the beauty of it is that that will also unhook areas that I have judgment and condemnation against others! Which will also be helpful for you in your business to have some empathy, and be able to understand some what other people are going through in their own businesses. Maybe why they're not going as fast as you wish they would or doing the things that you know that they are capable of doing and they're not doing them. It has to go down a little bit deeper than that. I also was feeling some fear around what this would entail like I want ripped arms. I want muscular arms. I'm very tall and I’ve been thin most of my life. But really, it's been like skinny-fat. I don't really have much muscle. There's been seasons since where I have and then I'd fall back. You know what I mean, and so I want solid ripped arms and anyways, that's just something I've always wanted. So I was having some fear around, “Oh my gosh if that's really what I want and it is what I want”. It's what I've been saying I've been wanting for 10 years then what is that going to entail? That seems hard, and at time already that feels so at capacity already have so many other things going on like what does that entail? Ok, baby steps. Let me step back just a minute. First of all when I was in Dominican Republic in February you know in a swimsuit, all those things I was like oh summer's coming I'm not happy with these results and so a lot of things felt overwhelming in this particular area which I I'll explain all the breakrough that I had but in February it felt overwhelming. So was that my husband was like why don't you hire a trainer? I just was like I'm just not in that season yet. Why don't I, for one month make a commitment to walk six days a week, and so and then after one month I'll reevaluate, and I'll be ready to do some more intense training, right? And so I did that! I committed to the walk. It's amazing what happens to when you commit to something ahead of time! Commit to the process! I wasn't committing to a result of losing weight, or I wasn't counting my steps I was just like I will go on a walk every day six days a week for one month and that felt really good and really right for me. It was really was fascinating how you know where I'd notice I was scrolling my phone before I'd pick up the kids from school and I'd be like oh I've got forty to five minutes put on the tennis shoes. Let's go to walk in before the kids get home, because I had committed to do it! It made it so much easier. I'd committed to the process, right? It had been a month was coming up and I was like oh I don't know I want arms but I just that feels the the the beautiful thing is is why it was feeling so hard something so simple why it was feeling so hard apply this to yourself that. That thing that you know that you need to do why it now feels so hard is because of the shame story you're telling yourself about about it because of the condemning voice of why should you even try, “You're just going to quit! You're you've tried this before you're going to quit again. What is wrong with you?”. That is what we're going to uncover today, and that is where I had a huge breakthrough because it all is about just beginning again. It's about starting all you need to do is start again. One day at a time! So many people because of the shame-condemning story. They're just like what's the point I'm not even going to try start again. Shame keeps says that there's something wrong with you when you are feeling the feelings of shame or not even feeling the feelings of shame but they're there. You may not be even aware of it and you think it's something else and you're just avoiding it. The shame story is that it keeps telling you that something is wrong with you. How can we neutralize this this this situation? For me it was like how can I neutralize this shame and condemnation? This scenario where I've started and stopped ,I've started and stopped? I don't want to do that anymore. Oh I'm so horrible. How could I neutralize it? How if I was somebody that was trying to help me from an outside perspective that didn't have all the emotions and shame that I was feeling and how could someone like me. Or well let me let me say this? Okay so a way that I could neutralize it is sometimes people like me struggle with this! Sometimes humans struggle! Sometimes highly successful people struggle with follow through. Let me normalize this, highly successful people also struggle in certain areas, you're still seeing their highlight reel. Just because someone's a life coach or just because someone's a CEO or just because someone's your mentor, just because someone whatever. You're thinking or just because someone's a certain rank or a certain income. They're like, “I bet they never struggle with that!”, sometimes people like you struggle with what you're going through actually more people struggle than not so let's change those those ratios here but I want you to neutralize it. Sometimes I have bad days. Sometimes highly successful people like me can't figure out how to go just lift weights again. They know and again it's not the excuse of I don't know what to do I have a tonal machine. The tonal machine does everything for you. It puts the weight on it counts your reps it counts your score it programs the workouts for you like there's I don't even have to think it's not like oh what I don't know what to do or I don't know how long to do this now. It literally is plug and play so again, this is a reminder for you. You know what you need to do? The reason you're not doing. It is some shame story that you're telling yourself that you should be further along or you shouldn't be struggling with this or people like you don't have to deal with this That's a lie from the enemy and so when I was talking to my coach. She helped me realize what was kind of the theme. What did my condemning voice sound like? I noticed that again was a voice I kept hearing in that condemning voice. Okay, if you're unfamiliar in the in the spiritual realm I love to look at it. This way is Satan speaks to you in the condemning voice. It makes you shrink back, makes you get smaller. Fear is an intimidating. Shame makes you feel less than. God's voice even in correction is his loving kindness lead you to repentance. Even his correction is rising you up, speaking to your true, if you're watching me on YouTube you can literally see my hands the difference. It rises you up to your true identity and purpose. So if you're so this this is a very powerful thing you can do is just start to notice the voice that you're hearing, and start to notice how you're speaking to yourself. start to notice what your thoughts, your mind, is offering to you because you get to choose. Okay, it's on autopilot an autopilot story is probably shameful and condemning and making you feel smaller and definitely not making you start again because that's what Satan, the enemy, does not want you to do. He does not want you to start again. He wants you to go sit on the couch. Go eat some chips make a sandwich and just sit there and binge. He doesn't want you to make a difference in the world. He doesn't want you to be healthy. He doesn't want you to accomplish your goals. But God says I am doing a new thing! Your future is going to look completely different from your past. Apart from me, you can do nothing. Let's do this together. So it was really important for me to notice that my condemning voice was like again like oh you started and stopped again, you set out a goal in this area and didn't accomplish it again. So I was noticing just like the word this like word of again was where my condemning voice was and so then we got to notice what would my empathetic voice sound like towards this? What would a neutral voice that wasn't heaping shame on you that was just like curious like high achieving people sometimes struggle with this. What would that empathetic voice sound like for you in your situation? For me my first thought was well that empathetic voice towards me in this specific specific arm exercise scenario. It felt unfamiliar yet really nice like. Really delightful unfamiliar because that's not usually the voice that I I listen to or I hear I seek out or I create on purpose but it was really really nice and so if I was a person trying to help myself. What would I say how would I address the scenario. If I was like if you were trying to help somebody else in that situation. What would you do and how would you make it neutral but this all of this always right? This was my beautiful invitation to unhook from shame. Okay, because here you go here here was the question that I dealt with. Where is punishing myself with shame going to get me where is punishing myself again about that I haven't figured out this war work out I'll start start start stop start start so where is that getting me. It's getting me nowhere and I'll still be there in a year okay so do I want to continue punishing myself with shame or do i. Strong arms like I get to decide but I couldn't even decide I was like I was frozen like ah, there's no possibilities I don't know how this is going to work until I was able to find some freedom bring shed some light on tell the truth about my shame. The truth is what will set you free. Okay, if you keep ignoring it or not being honest with yourself. You're going to still say in your shame cycle. The truth of like I feel shame about this, I feel some fear about how what all this is going to entail. When I was honest with that I now get to decide! Do I to continue punishing myself with shame? Do I want to continue to tell myself that story. Do I want you live into the story you tell yourself? Do I want to continue with that or do I want strong arms? I want strong arms. So I get to restart. I get to try again. I get to start. I get to be an overcomer. I don't want to be in the same place I am now a year from now. So I get to decide, just decide, just decide. Whatever it is that you've been starting stopping starting stopping starting so just decide you're done with punishing yourself. You're done with the shame cycle around this in three months from now yeah and when you choose to be done with it three months from now there'll be a difference six months from now you'll be off completely different. You'll have you'll be a completely different person three months from now I'm gonna notice a difference in my arms six months from now I'm gonna have completely different arms and I've stopped obsessing with the end result and started committing to the process committing to restarting committing. Starting and restarting and committing to the process enjoying the process celebrating the process if you follow me on Instagram every day after I do my total exercise I post on Instagram I am celebrating myself. I am proud of myself. The Gap and the Gain, is a really great book for you on this on this concept of like we're always judging ourself against what we haven't accomplished instead of celebrating the gain stop focusing on the gap but celebrate your gains and so that's what I have decided to do. That's what my coach helped me uncover. There's a couple other things that help got me to the end result but I just decided. I'm decided I'm done punishing myself because I want different results. Okay, we've got to lessen our focus on the outcome. So many of you guys get so obsessed like oh I want this amount of money, I want this rank and you're like your eyes are only on that only on that and then you just keep comparing yourself to this gap of how you haven't reached that elusive ideal. Instead of committing and celebrating the process lesson they focus on the outcome and commit to the process. Not the results commit to who you become in the process commit to the journey commit to all the life's gifts. Hard and easy that will all come your way as you commit to your transformation. The results are going to be inevitable if you commit to the process. It's committing to the process. It's the restarting. That's what the majority of the people will not do because they're in that shame cycle but you. Are not most people you are an overcomer you are choosing to restart you are choosing to commit to the process you are choosing to remember God's voice that is calling you higher, not choosing to come in agreement with the voice of condemnation that is calling you to shame and sin and and and just stopping just sitting on the couch just giving up. Yeah, it's easier not to do it. It's easier not to do it but you are called higher and your transformation the way that you break through in this the way that you become healthier in this the way that you overcome in this is going to do wonder. For everybody else you have influence over so going back to what would it look like to meet myself right? Where I am without judgment. This is what this is what they she helped me uncover and this is what I love helping other people I do so. The time but it was just like I couldn't go I do it all myself. So I'm so grateful for coaches because that's where people want to be met where they are you want to you want to be met where you are. You don't want somebody saying you should have done this. You should be farther along than you already are what's wrong with you. You're gonna you're gonna start. So if you start this, you're just gonna stop again. Okay, so what would it look like to meet yourself right? where you are in that goal for yourself like I was where I was like here's where I am I have this goal that I want I don't know how to get there or I. Feel scared to get there or I feel so much shame about how I've tried to get there before in the Past. What would it look like to meet you right? where you are with out the judgment just the truth This is where I am I don't like it. Don't feel like this is how I have to be forever, but this is where I am today. How can you see feel and understand her. How can you see feel and understand yourself like yeah I kind of make perfect sense high-achchieving people like me. Yeah. Sometimes I get really focused on something and it falls away for a while I'm human welcome to the human experience like what makes me so special that I will never experience shame or anything like this again sometimes people like me sometimes people like you don't hit their goals. Sometimes people like you have started and stopped and started and stopped and they're ready to stop stopping and you're ready to re commit to the process. So I'm committed to the process. And my coach helped me figure out like what is my actual steps. What am I and how am I going to start? I didn't have to figure out everything I just had to commit so we came up with a plan where I was going to for one month again commit to this, commit to weight training my arms four days a week so that's what we decided. It's so fascinating. How many things open up for you after you decide after you commit. It's the whole world of possibilities come like it's when you commit to your business. Are you commit to your marketing It's like oh then all the people come if you build it they will come so we committed ah over the phone and then I was. The first week I was like she was like what do you want me e do do you want to check in so each day I worked out I checked in with her the first week and to help me establish the habit and then honestly after day one the starting it didn't even take me a whole week I was in it so when I committed I got off I got off. Call with her and then I was opening up my tonal program the app it's got like different programs for arms, legs, full body. You know, different levels and the very first one that popped up was like this ultimate arms program and it was four days a week for four weeks and I was like oh look what happens when you commit. The process look what happens when you make powerful decisions and you decide you are capable of making decisions. So your life can move forward and I did and I went and did it and it was like all these lies that I had in my brain of like I just don't have the time I'm already so maxeddounded all of those are so gone like that is. Not even an issue at all I am motivated I am celebrating my progress I am kind to myself about this. Actually we got to a root, because we also talked about some other like hard conversation hard interactions I've had with some people lately and honestly shame or. Terrible feelings are negative. Emotions are just pointing us to an unmet need we have in ourselves often and so we did some explorating of like I just didn't feel cared for and so I got to equate this like lifting weights for me right now. Whatever it is for you I now am equating that to this, is how I care for me if other people or other relationships or I'm not feeling cared for by them. This is a way that I can create care for myself. I show up for myself in this way and it feels like this need that I have to be cared for because I know if I commit to the process I will get results and I know how much I'll love those results. I've had toned arms in the past and I love them and I'm proud of them and I just feel more confident. It's just something It's just that's just me and I like to wear tank tops when my arms look good and so I know it's gonna feel so good. But I'm not obsessed with that end result I have committed to caring for myself by committing to this process when I lift weights I am caring for myself. So I decided to. Ah, committed to the process I honor myself and my calendar honoring my time honoring myself honor is one of the core values within our prosperity with purpose mentorship and I decided to restart James clear from the book. Automatic habits 1 of them. It's a really great book every action you take is a vote. For the type of person you wish to become and I wish to be someone who cares for me who cares for others I wish to be someone who's willing to risk maybe down the road I'll stop maybe down the road I might experience some shame around this again. But I'm willing right now to restart. I'm not worried about all that right now right now. I am focused on what is right in front of me I am focused on committing to the process and I restarted and so since I've recorded this podcast. It has been now been three weeks of solid four days a week arm workouts. You know they say like you can see progress in three months and you'll have a totally different outcome in six months. I can see results in three weeks y'all! You may not but I look at my arms every day and I am so proud of myself, and even if I didn't see results within three weeks I would keep going because this is a long-term vision. I have a vision of myself as a person who is healthy, who is strong, and fit and ripped, so that's something I write in my start today journal every day as if it's already happened. It's a vision that I have for myself that I have for my future! I've gotten derailed a couple of times. I'm not looking to the past anymore of evidence of what. Is possible for my future. So begin again. Friends begin again business owners that area of your business or maybe you've put it aside or haven't been as committed to it as you have before restart leaders restart. Leaders become aware of those uncomfortable emotions. Go back to episode number 91 that feelings wheel literally I use daily literally I am aware of what is happening inside of my body. My feelings emotions daily those help my business for you guys that are over there like yeah that feelings wheel is too fluffy for me. No I am a successful entrepreneur. The number 2 in leadership development in an entire network marketing company. I have a 7 figure network marketing company, a 6 figure coaching business that will become 7 figures because I am aware of what's my thoughts. My thoughts are what my feelings are what they're creating for me because I am aware of whenever I'm feeling shame. I don't just ignore it I view it as an invitation to find healing an invitation to find freedom and the same is for you restart the world needs what you have to offer the world needs the highest version of you. I am cheering you on! Let me know this week on social media where you have restarted. what Aha it is! We want to cheer you on! I am so proud of you. Thanks for coming a little inside into what's been going on with me the past couple weeks. I love sharing my breakthroughs, because I know that every time I break through every time I gain more agency every time I peel back another layer of something that was hindering me I'm running freer and because I'm running freer, it inspires you to be able to walk and run in your own freedom. So God bless you! Go restart!

Hey welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose podcast. I'm Jessica Hefley and today we're talking about why people hire or don't hire a coach. But first do you hear that do you hear that noise. Those are my chickens. No I'm just kidding but if you follow me on social media, on Instagram, I have been inviting you into my baby chicken saga .We started with 14. You'll have to go there and listen to the rest. Okay, here's the phrase that keeps people stuck, “I should have this figured out by now”, “I should have this figured out by now”, or “I'm just going to figure it out on my own” those phrases will keep you in a two x hustle, hustle, hustle, grind, grind, grind, barely getting by, overwhelmed, got your hand in all the things and hardly ever resting. Okay because you're continuing to stay in the story or stay in the shame of “I should have this figured out”, “I should have this figured now” “I should be able to figure this out”, ” I'm gonna figure this out on my own”. Okay people look at me and they're like “Oh Jessica I can never be like you” or “You're so successful!” or “You're so emotionally stable.” or all these things I'm like yeah girl just get started because I've invested 15 years of coaching and therapy and learning on topics that have helped me become a more more wholehearted person. Okay think about this, if you think of CEOS of high level corporations I want you to think of Olympic athletes. I want you to think of like the top coach even in the world we would be considered like you know in the in the secular world think of like even Tony Robbins. Okay, for example, those people, you , look at them and there you would think they are the best of the best of the best they have billion dollar Fortune 500 companies. Okay, the CEOs I'm talking about they win multiple gold medals in the Olympics. They're the best of the best of the best or Tony Robbins, who you know charges hundreds of thousand dollars for his programs. Thousands and thousands of thousands of people flock to his in-person events. You would think oh look at him, “He's the best coach ever”. All 3 of those different categories have coaches. The CEOs of Fortune 500 companies have coaches. Olympians who earn gold medals have coaches. Tony Robbins who is the best of the best of the best coach has 7 different coaches - light bulb. Okay, it's not about trying to figure out on it on your own. They are aware. An order to improve in order to go to the next level in order to have a life. They truly want not something they're stuck in or not something they they hate about their job but to truly enjoy it from a place of purpose from a place of service. They need some help they need somebody with an outside perspective. They need somebody challenging the old ways their old thoughts their old ways of thinking someone challenging the story that they're living into currently, because they think they have no agency over it. They think this is just life I don't have any time I don't have enough money. My business isn't growing. My team's not doing this instead coming from a completely different angle of awareness. A completely different angle of of motivation and honestly a completely different way of viewing your emotions. Okay so I want to think about this topic for doing this podcast episode. I made a list of all of the different coaches over the years in the different areas that I personally have coached in another area, and I'm gonna show you those in just second but another area that keeps people stuck is they so they view coaching as a cost or as as an expense instead of an an investment. Hear me - you are good soil. Good soil is worth investing in because when you invest in good soil it multiplies and when you invest in you it does not just affect you. It affects everybody you come in contact with! It affects your children, your spouse ,your church, your community, your school ,your business. Okay, by you investing in you, you actually are investing in hundreds thousands potentially hundreds of thousands of people's results because of how you are investing in you. It's like such an abundant way to view this It's not what am I going to lose what money am I going to lose from this but it's what do I have to gain what is the growth there. What is the excitement there. What is the results that I can produce from this and something very special happens when you actually invest income into it. There's this beautiful concept I love that's like the exchange of value when you invest in something. It's exchanging value for value. So you're paying amount of money to receive value in exchange. The number is ambiguous. Go back to the very first episode of my Money Mindset podcast if you're like, “Oh that costs a lot.” or “Oh that doesn't cost very much.”, what if money is neutral and there's not too much or not enough amount? Okay, first let's start doing that but in in exchange you receive something. And so when I personally invest money into a coaching program, into learning something new, I believe that I will receive something in exchange. I'm going to get out of this exactly what I need. That is what I go into every training. Anytime that I am there to learn something new, I have the expectation I am going to get out of this exactly what I need and that sets the stage for me because when I come in with the posture of “Oh this person isn’t going to teach me anything I don’t already know” or “Oh I've heard that before.”, do you understand how closed off that is? Yeah, you'll get exactly what you were you were thinking. You're gonna get oh but I didn't get anything new from that, I didn't get anything written new for that or the other person or me when I walk into a training I'm like I am gonna get out of this exactly what I need. I'm either going to learn something new. I'm going to have a breakthrough, I'm going to be reminded of something I already knew. But I'm gonna be reminded to implement it or teach somebody else it or it's gonna fall in a different way because it's a different time It's a different season in my life. But yeah, take that one, borrow that one from me “I'm gonna get out of this exactly what I need.” Okay, so here's all of the areas that I personally in the course of my professional history have gotten have hired coaches in because I'm always aware of like if there's an area of my life that I would like to improve or I notice that I don't have the results that I want in them in them or I want to learn something more about or I want to get better or I know that it will benefit not just me with everybody else I go and hire a coach. Okay, there is something about, and and I'm not saying there's nothing you can't get for free. My podcast is free. Y'all are getting phenomenal free content every single week. Do ever notice like how many podcast hosts and how much inspiration you get from Instagram? How much YouTubes you watch? All of these things for free, for free, for free, for free? What a gift that's so amazing. But I believe that you might be capping yourself because if that's if everything is an exchange and they're exchanging value for value. And it's free. Can you imagine? Exponentially what you would receive when you pay what the exchange would be for value to value of the income that you put in the income that you invest in yourself. So here's some areas I've hired a spiritual coach. Like that is something that I want insight into I want to learn more about. I want somebody to mentor me in that area. I want somebody to challenge me in that area. I want somebody to help me see things in a different latitude who's smarter than me in the area to teach me things Biblically and so that's why I've hired a coach physically. But I had in the past when I didn't have results I've hired a Macros Coach. I've hired another a personal trainer coach like in different seasons. That's what I needed in that season and I got out of it exactly what I needed did I leave those sessions with a body builder body. Oh my gosh I am the bet like I'm going to go do Competitions. No. Because I didn't put in the effort to get that results and so I'm taking full ownership of that and one of my actually an episode coming up here is going to be bought a lot of shame I had around starting and stopping starting and stopping starting and stopping exercise in the recent break there I had because I talked to my coach about it so stay tuned the next to that next episode. Okay, business I've hired business coaches. I've hired someone to help look at my business to ask me questions to help me be curious, to help me set goals, to help expand my vision, expand my goals, to help me think bigger in the possibilities than I ever have before I've hired that. I've hired coaches for my mental and emotional health. I've done therapy. I did therapy for years. We've done marriage therapy, individual therapy. I love therapy. I love coaching- they both have advantages. Someone would say an unfair advantage of mine to be that why I succeeded so quickly in my network marketing company I truly believe is the years of therapy I did even before I started, because it allowed me to already have worked through some people-pleasing, to work through some boundaries. All ready to work on my self-concepts all ready to be more confident in who I am. Ready to not avoid uncomfortable conversations or uncomfortable feelings and so that really I truly believed that was an unfair advantage. I was able to work through things quicker I was able to bounce back. I was able to identify fear and move forward in spite of it or because of it and I just feel I got my Christian life coaching certification a couple about here almost two years now ago now and that accelerated everything from that from a so much quicker perspective I felt so empowered to then have the tools to help myself. Like what what I did in 10 years of therapy from just six months of my life coaching certification, I felt like I was a completely transformed person and a lesser amount of time with the tools that life coaching provided me to help my life and business move forward. I've hired a financial coaches. People to look at our numbers, so people to help us with a spending plan. People to help us with investing. I recently hired a CFO to have a high level of looking at each one of our businesses and being really honest. With our numbers where we're at where we want to go what changes have to be made. What are some things that we can implement to help increase revenue. It's been really, really, really helpful I've paid for a sourdough class y'all. It was something I wasn't good at and that I wanted to learn about so I paid for somebody and it wasn't like oh and me go find everything for free. You can find everything in the world for free. Okay, but I really think there is something that happens when you invest the money you're going to pay attention more than likely. Because you're going get out of it exactly where you need even if you don't pay attention. You will learn that “Oh I paid money from that I didn't do anything with that. That kind of hurt. Maybe I won't do that again next time. Maybe I'll actually put the time and ever did when I put the money.”, Okay, but also side note let me put it here, don't forget where I was, a lot of people join my program, my mentorship. This is fascinating to some people but I just it's not fascinating to me. It's just real life people. Invest. It's one five hundred dollars to be in my mentorship. Twelve Week mentorship and it is fascinating because there are some people who never watch any of the trainings and they invested $2500. They don't show up for coaching. They may have they may have shown up once for coaching then I have some people who watch everything who come to coaching every single week and raise their hand every single time and they get what they came for, and I and I trust that each one of them although like in my element of control I'm like well of course I wish they would watch everything and I wish they would get coach and I wish they would raise their hand they would have so much more breakthrough I know that. I know that I know that I know that I know that I know that I can help them but but there is this element of trust like I trust that they got exactly what they came for. I trust that they could come to 1 coaching session and they could they could receive one nugget that absolutely changes the trajectory of their life forever and then they could even go on and say, “Oh I didn't get anything from that program. I only went to one coaching session.” and I'm over there like well I mean you got what you came for, you got that one breakthrough you had the ability to come to coaching. Every single week to raise your hand when it felt scary every single time some do some don't I believe that they all receive exactly what they came for I believe that they're gonna get out of it exactly what they need in that season. There will be life lessons that they will look back on that and think. Oh I'm so proud that I showed up for every single thing I got so many breakthroughs that was the best program I've ever been a part of or they may their thought may be ha I went to 1 session but that 1 session changed my life forever and what an abundant. To look at it. What an what an expansive way to view and how you invest in yourself and how you invest your income because shame I'll tell you what it's not going to give you the results or not going to give you what you came for if you shame and condemn yourself like oh my gosh I should have shown. I didn't show up big enough .I didn't get coached big enough. I didn't get coached enough and I wasted that money. I'm such a bad steward. Where is that getting you that is getting you that is sucking you down the shame cycle. We don't do shame over here. We do compassion and curiosity and we learn and we move forward. Okay, back to other things I've learned social media. I have hired a coach for social media. This is also so fascinating going back to the very first line of people who are like I should have this figured out or I can figure it out on my own. Okay, this is fascinating think again of the olympic athletes. They're not hiring a coach because they're not bad at what they do. They're really good at what they do. They're better than most people at what they do. They hire a coach to go even further. So actually what is the last time you allowed someone to challenge you. To go even further. This is such a trap of specially successful high achievers. They're like I've already achieved so much I've already gotten to this rank I'm already making more money than ever imagined possible when I graduated college and they just like cap themselves because no one's chat. They're not. Allowing anybody to speak into them to challenge them to give them more of an expansive view at things I think I'm pretty good at social media. It's gotten me pretty far in life that doesn't mean that I can't do better at it or improve at it or go to 2.0 level at it podcasting I was in a mastermind last year all around. Learning how to do that better learning how to get your message out there that the SEO. The difference behind the scenes things to like upload it all into thankfully I've hired all of that out I'm working in my zone of genius .I show up I record the podcast I've got somebody who edits. I have somebody who puts out the show notes in the email, and uploads it into Libsyb and gets it on Pinterest and gets it on Linkedin and gets it on YouTube, and then I have somebody else who is helping with my social media with my podcast Facebook group with my Instagram with turning some clips into these podcast episodes into reals to making quote graphics to putting more information out there for there. So I love it! I feel like I've arrived but I haven't arrived. There's always the next level. But I am truly people I also this is so fascinating because also look you still look at highly successful people and be like they have got to be a hot mess behind the scenes because. That's gonna take so much time everything they look like they're so calm and collected. But I'm like'all I am more than I ever have been in my life because I've learned how to operate and I'm learning how to operate in my zone of genius the thing that all I only I can do and I delegate out. All the rest of the things now you may be thinking oh must be nice. You can afford that arm must be nice that it takes forever to hire those people I want check you on that because yeah, you'll keep living into that story. The who not how is an excellent book on that and and all my life most of my life and I'm still evolving in this. I just hired people to kind of keep my head above water like oh I need somebody to do some of these tasks I don't want to do. Just please do these things, just handing off some things without any purpose and without any goals in it and now very recently I am learning I have got to hire people and give them goals give them deadlines give them specific things to be working towards to help my business grow, not just to hand things off on them but to have them working in their zone of a genius doing something that they're good at doing something I don't have to train them in. They already know how to do and they're good at it and they want to do it. And a scarcity trap also was like I don't know if I could find anybody who would actually want to do that for me that was one of my first growth mindsets when I first hired a housekeeper. I'm like I feel bad. They're like going to be cleaning my floors and mopping like my floors like I feel bad about that and I was like no that is such a scarcity way to think. They want to do that my house cleaner that is what she does for a living. She is good at it. She is fast at it. She makes good money on it and I don't have to do it and so I am able to bless somebody with a job bless the economy bless another family and I get to work in my zone. A genius with you. Putting out podcasts, putting out trainings to my membership, putting coaching inside of my membership and then somebody else gets to do that and it's like win, win, win for everybody. What a beautiful expansive way to look at it. Okay, parenting I've paid for parenting classes. Parenting coach to help me with some certain situations with my children because I want to I don't want to stop being like oh I'll just figure it out I'll just figure it out I just figure I don't have time for that. My children are growing fast. You don't have time to waste in the area where you are wanting to experience growth and there is no where where did this concept of shame come from around getting help. Okay, let me release that from you in the name of Jesus getting help. That's one of the healthiest, best, humblest, wisest things that you could ever do like stop living on an island trying to figure it out on your own like it is. So wise and expansive and fun to invest in an area to put your time attention resources money into something that you want a different result in that's wisdom There's oh I don't know what. My lab apples they were in the kitchen. Henry Cloud he came to our mastermind last year for 3 star mind mastermind above with Plexus and there's a verse and Proverbs that says seek out wisdom at all costs like pay for wisdom. Okay I'll but I'll put a fine it and put it in the show notes for actually let me pause this let me go find it. Okay I found it. It's Proverbs 4:7-9 in the Passion translation. It says “Wisdom is the most valuable commodity. So buy it!” that is my motto in life like if you've read the book of Proverbs. It is all about wisdom. You can find lots of great free business wisdom in there but to empty I've utilized that like oh I need wisdom. Oh this talks a lot about wisdom. Oh I need some more wisdom in these areas I want a hire coach because it is that important that I am going to spend money on it I am going to invest in it because I believe in the results that it can provide okay time management I have invested in coaches to help me with time management. I've been hiring and hiring I've invested in programs that help me know how to hire and what to hire how to hire questions to ask and interview all that good stuff I've hired to learn how to speak be a public speaker. That was not a natural gifting of mine. I've had opportunities to do that within my network marketing company in other areas and so I wanted to steward that well. I wanted to get better at something that was absolutely terrifying to me and there are so many people who are way better at at me right better at it than me and so having them their wisdom. They're also so. They call it a slipstream y'all like when you come under the wisdom or the teaching of somebody that has gone before you you can then accomplish things faster than they did so things that you know things that took me 15 .I you know I've been investing in this stuff I say fifteen years that's how long I've been married but I loved personal growth and development books even before when I was in college. I was reading stuff like like I was I only read nonfiction I've actually probably read less than 3 fiction books. That's an adult like I love it and so that's also incredibly important who are you under like who is the teacher are they at the top of their company are they the top of the area. Do they have a life that you want to have have? They created more peace to make more money. Will impart like it's a natural importation to learn underneath them, to seek guidance from them, to be coached from them because they've had breakthroughs in that area, so they have agency to help you have breakthroughs in those areas yourself. Marriage we've invested lots in our marriage and therapy ,coaching intensives like thousands and thousands of dollars in that area because it's important to us and because we got tired and worn out of just trying to figure it out on our own. And also let me let me dismiss this lie like you may have done some coaching or got some therapy or got some worked on an area of your life years ago and then it's years later and you're like well shoot I thought I already worked through all that stuff I can't spend money on that again. Like I have got to figure this out. It is such a scarce way to think about it. A beautiful expansive way to think about it would be like this makes perfect cinch I'm a completely different person than I was years ago now I have different challenges different invitations different opportunities. I'm a different person the people in my life are different people or you're finding like oh wait I'm the exact same. They're the exact same. They're still annoying me. There's always there's onions. It's layers to the onion and it's always an invitation to bring before the Holy Spirit. I also believe it's incredibly important who you learn from from a spiritual aspect. Just being careful about who speaks into your life and how and why and everything that I do and teach from is from a Biblical perspective and I do not apologize for that. There will be scripture. There will be vision exercises. There will be freedom prayer. We are going to hear from the Lord in your life and business, because that voice it should be the loudest. And most important way over mine. Always okay homeschooling. I have debated it in the past It's always a possibility for us in the future. The kids are at a good Christian school right now. But I evaluate, reevaluate that every year based on my children's needs based on the friends and things that they're exposed to based on an individual decision. But I've already gone ahead of the game and kind of learned some things about that because I don't know anything about that and so yes I have 82 tendencies. I could binge YouTube and blogs for days and days and days and days and days and learn a lot about those things I could save me tons of time which time is money. Let me say that again time is money and get that from a coach. Okay natural health, I have invested money that's in an area that is like intriguing to me. I love learning about it I love living off the grid. I love natural alternatives. It's why I am with the original gut health company Plexus because it focuses on the root cause of so many different illnesses that people think it's their lot in life that they have this autoimmune disease or whatever that the doctor said I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do there is something you can do by going to the root cause not something that a medication can fix but the root natural cause can provide a lot of healing. I love learning about that dreams like have dreams in certain seasons and so that's not something I knew much about so I've invested in. I took a course and had coaching and got lots of help with determining like learning about my dreams and like literally at night like what those mean how God speaks to us by the way. Did you know that one third of the Bible is dreams visions and prophecy. That's a pretty big chunk that's a chunk that I don't want to ignore just because of my religious background. I want to explore that with new eyes fresh eyes I want to get in the scripture myself. I want to read that one and learn about that. So anyways, those are a problem and I'm sure I'm missing some of them I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars invests sting in me my so I was talking to some leaders of their day and they're like how much are you like spending on reinvesting back into your team like are you giving people prizess? What's your budget for that, and I said without a doubt the most valuable thing I have spent money for the growth of my team is me is the coaching that I have received which then I in in turn can go and coach them when I become healthier. They become healthier. It's a natural outpouring of who you are and how you lead this is the decree that we say every single time. When we start any lesson or any coaching inside of my prosperity purpose purpose mentorship. We say this decree out loud together. We set the intention I prosper as I cast off old entanglements and run freely in abundance spiritually emotionally physically and financially as I empower others to do the same. Wholeness is a natural outpouring of who I am and how I lead that is what I have been running after wholeness that is what anybody who interacts with me who is in my coaching program or my team that will be a natural outpouring that they will receive because. What I invested because I wasn't stingy or scarce or thinking I could continuing down the road of I should be able to figure this out or I'm invested in in the past like this won't be any different I've tried everything. Yeah I've tried everything before and nothing worked you live into the Story. You tell yourself. And I choose to tell myself I'm gonna get out of this exactly what I need.. That's how I go into any and everything that I invest my money or my time in um, another thing this is sorry I'm not laughing at you. Maybe I am like we were to my laughing emoji. I am ah okay well I know that's not this is not you. But and I have had people before say Well I don't mean what would I need therapy for what would I need a coach for and I literally a laugh time I know this is not you because you are here you are here you are growth minded leaders. That's why you are here. So I know this is not you but this is always so fascinating to me when someone's like well what do I get coached on? I'm like seriously like this person is to me that person is living in denial because I get coaching. All the time even though I know the tools I put this into practice I help other people but there's always a next layer for me but I get coaching all the time any time I notice that I am avoiding something I take note of it and I get coached on any time I am aware of a really uncomfortable feeling or a sad feeling or an angry. Feeling or response or something I just can't get over if there's ever a challenging conversation I need to have or have had and didn't go as planned or I have been avoiding if there is a result in a certain area I do not have if there was like a rub. Hard and hard interaction like with my spouse or with my friend or with my family all of those if I am fearful of trying something new fearful of growth if I am scared of success aren't scared of going backwards if I. Met my goal and I don't know what to do next or I didn't hit my goal and that felt really really, really bad. All of those things or opportunities to get coached and find freedom. But honestly, all of those things that I get coached on are disguised and everyday life circumstances such as my husband left his underwear on the floor again. He doesn't love me. He doesn't love me, he left his underwear on the floor did and I noticed how angry it feels our last word a couple weeks up 2 episodes before I couldn't found my jacket. Ah, couldn't find my jacket and we were going out the door for a spring break trip and I could not find my jacket but I was able to notice oh that's making me a little bit more high-tensed than I should be about not being able to find a jacket which then was an invitation for me to unhook another layer of perfectionism. It is beautiful and I believe god has called up god. God is I have come to set the captives free that is his will for us to unhook us from these things that trigger us to allow us to live a life of freedom of service of purpose without all these things getting in our way without us trying to muscle through and figure it out on our own. It's not about what I can do on my own it's about how much more of an impact could I make with help? So I am excited for that even greater impact that you are going to make when you hire the coach I will. See you guys inside of Prosperity With Purpose Mentorship.

Hey, welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose podcast! I'm Jessica Hefley. We have a quick time management episode for you today. It's one of the biggest topics that I get requests on talking about that's why we spend multiple weeks within the Prosperity With Purpose Mentorship on this very topic in great detail. I am really taking it from the angle of your thoughts, making powerful decisions, but also taking actual inventory of your time where you're spending it, Y’all know how to manage your time. The problem isn't that you don't know how to do it. The problem is why are you not doing it ,and we really get to helping you do it from a place of purpose and stewardship - which I'm going to give you a little taste of today on this quick time management tip when you hear this word.

How does it change everything about how you spend your time “I'm on assignment” ? That changes everything! “I'm on assignment”. What if you viewed how you spend your time as if you are on assignment? God is the owner of everything. You are just the manager. You are just called to steward the gifts, talents, and time that he has given you, and so if you are on assignment that one thought, that one practice can drastically affect how you spend your time. How and why and what you prioritize your time on because if you're just living your life doing, doing, doing, doing, doing, doing, doing, for everybody for all things. All things. There's no “You're an assignment.” and so when “You're on assignment” when you are called to steward and multiply your business. When you are called to steward your family - those most important things in your life when you're on assignment, when some other things come in come along. It's so much easier to say no to because you're remembering that you're saying yes to your assignment. What you are called to do? What you are called to steward and multiply? I was looking up the definition of stewardship and it's a person who looks after or manages someone; who is responsible to take care of something. Okay, so again if God owns everything and you're simply the manager, I'm simply the manager. God is the owner, we are the managers. It's not ours. Time is not even ours. It is his, and so I want to be incredibly intentional. You are a person of purpose who lives on purpose is a theme in my life. What I live I try to live into every day because when I but when I remember. But I am a person of purpose who lives on purpose that affects how I spend my time, that affects where I spend my time, that will affect you and how you spend your time. So just this very, very simple, very quick episode. We don't have to make this long today. We go way more in depth on this topic inside of Prosperity With Purpose Mentorship, but today I'm on assignment. You woke up every morning thinking I'm on assignment better. Yeah let's go the night before and you're looking at your planner the night before planning out your day the next day - being super intentional with your time off, your rest time, your work time. Not just your work time. But exactly what you're going to do with your work time? That’s a whole other 10 x episode and but if you were to look at tomorrow- I'm on assignment. God, how can I steward my time? Well how can I steward the gifts, talents, responsibilities, my business, my income? How can I steward that well that will change and that will affect what you decide to do and we even spend at least a week even more on the coaching sessions on hiring and delegating and thinking about this place of your zone of genius, and you operating in that place and that special calling that only you can do nobody else in this world can do what only you can do and how we've got to delegate and hire out the other things that are getting in the way of you truly stewarding your time at a level that will multiply and help more people. Faster, truly simple, amazing way to live help you prioritize! Let me know on this simple concept, “I'm on assignment”, how that affects, how that changes your day to-day work, your day-to- day home and how that affects what you say yes and what you say no to. Blessings to you guys on that. You're on assignment…I take that seriously.

Hello! Welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose Podcast. I'm Jessica Hefley. How was Spring Break? How was your spring cleaning from last week's episode? I am almost there. If you’re watching on YouTube I have a little bit of a jenkety wall behind me, but I'm getting there I have made the powerful decision and ordered the supplies that I need to finish the wall in my office so I can record in the office and have a cool background. We're getting there. We're getting there, but I got my clothes done. I got a lot of the garage done. I got those spaces done that I utilize all the time and it already feels so much clearer so much easier. so much less resistant. So anyways, I got tell you the story. So today we're going to talk about this real life. I'm going to bring you real life, because so much of growth, so much of ownership, so much of empowerment, so much of leadership all comes from just personal experiences. It always fascinates me when people are like, “I don't know how to add value to the world” . I'm like, “Are you learning anything new?”, everything is a possible lesson. Every book I read, every sermon I listen to, but honestly, every single interaction with my family with people I don't like with people I do like, with the work like everything is the opportunity for you to learn something new. So for spring break. We're in a season where it's it's it's full. There's lots of things going on with my husband's work. He just came back from a men's retreat. We were just in the Dominican Republic on a Plexus Leaders retreat trip. So there's just a lot going on and I love to travel. It's my love language. If it was initially my pick I was like, “We got to go somewhere, babe!” We were going to go on a really awesome trip with some friends but that had to get canceled and so I was like waah waah, but my spirit just kept being like I kept looking at like places to go you know Colorado or Utah or go snowboarding or be in a beautiful restful environment and just felt like are we just doing that just to do that right? Now we've we've got a full year we've got other cool things. Exciting things we're going to be doing. Maybe it would be better to have a low-key Spring Break. So that's what we did but I couldn't stay home the whole time. I got just 2 nights in a cabin up in the Ozark mountains up in Jasper near Jasper, Arkansas. It's beautiful up there if you're from them hill country if you're from the Arkansas or anyways, it's really beautiful, just change a pace change a place change a perspective. You know some family time some low internet time .We hiked and we did a campfire we watched Chronicles of Narnia together. We did a puzzle, cooked some resurrection rolls for breakfast, just a couple just just low-key connecting. But husband said it was one of his most favorites Spring Breaks. Okay that was just for two days but here's the story is when we were packing up to go. We were only going for 2 nights and we weren't like doing anything fancy so we didn't need that much stuff. I didn't need nice clothes like get hiking boots. It was going be chilly, get some hoodies get a jacket and we're on our way, get a couple I just grabbed a couple snacks we already had in the at the house. But as we're walking out the door I can't find my jacket. Okay I've got this like a wonderful, like every time I wear I'm like this was such a smart purchase. Do you remember this? Things like it was it was it caught. You know it was not a cheap investment but I found it right before my Israel trip like we went like five years ago, maybe it was a year before COVID. So yeah, 2019 and I bought it at where was that place. It's a place in Russellville, oh it's a great little, small mom and pop store. Anyways I wasn't even looking for it I was just in there looking around and it was this awesome green jacket. It was waterproof. It was warm but it wasn't a winter jacket. It just felt like it could be used for all sorts of terrains when we were going to Israel. It was going to be kind of colder and rainy and I was like this is perfect. Anyways, I've used it so many times and sent but it's like a special occasion jacket I don't use it all the time I use it when I need it right? and I am a person who knows where things are if feel' a little to hear my haughty voice, just listen do last week's episode on humility. Maybe I need to go listen to it anyways, let's do it again? Ok so I know the point of this is. I know where my stuff is my husband doesn't know where his stuff is, and that he has too much stuff. Lots of judgments around all of his stuff but I put my jackets on the jacket hook. That's where I put them. I built this house specifically so I could hide my husband's crap, so I could hide the clutter, hide the things to create more peace for me as I didn't have to see it. We all have cubbies by where we coming in the garage door. We all literally have our own locker closet thing where you can put shoes a drawer for shoes. Closet for jackets and then up top where you can put like snowbibs and snow so winter supplies like everybody has their own. That's where I keep my jacket. Okay and so it was like a no-brainer. We’re walking out running out the door, and I open it to get my jacket to go out and my jacket's not there. y'all my jacket's not there. And me who puts things where they belong and the jacket's not there and it ends up being way a bigger deal than it should have been in the first place but as always if you are finding yourself overly frustrated ,flustered, angry, upset like disregulated. That is always an invitation to unhook something that usually hooks you that has hooked you a lot in the past that has made you so angry and upset. So I'm noticing so we're trying to so get in the car we're trying to get on the road. There's one of my favorite restaurants Cliff House Inn and we were trying to go to church and then leave right straight from church so we were to go to early service which we're late servicers. We like to sleep in have a slow lazy Sunday morning we were trying to get to early service and then hit the road because my favorite restaurant closed at 3 ,so we had to get there before because they were going to be closed on Monday and Tuesday and the whole reason I planned this trip. But so we could read eat these my favorite little restaurants but they were all going to be closed Monday, Tuesday so we had to go on Sunday anyways, I couldn't find my jacket at all and I'm noticing like what in the world? I can't find my jacket! Where's my jacket? I start snapping at my kids to get in the car. I thought I told you'd hurry up and I'm just like being really agitated with my husband. With my kids I'm feeling very flustered because I can't find my dang jacket y'all and I know where I put my things, and I can't find it. It's I'm like what in the world I'm going through everybody's cubby. I'm going through my husband's closet. Maybe my our house assistant accidentally thought it was Rob's jacket put it in Rob's closet. I cannot find my jacket, but now I am noticing that the fact that I can't fight my find my jacket is making me incredibly irritated. It is making me not so kind to my kids. It is making me feel rushed and anxious and if we're going to get that that feelings wheel right from a couple episodes ago. If we were to look at that I was not only like angry I was being like really critical on myself really like irritated furious, frustrated and angry and I was just like what in the world and so I took a step back I was like right, I am really upset about this jacket, and I was keeping my cool. Actually I was keeping my cool to some degree, but I was noticing the agitation was so right there on the edge and so I took a few moments to like regulate like put my hand in my heart be like okay Jessica you're safe. You're a smart person. Where could this possibly be? You know, like because in in that state of like flustered, anger and frustration. We can't find the things you know oftentimes in our business we're like I have to do this I have to make this much amount of money I have to this week did it it becomes so flustered that we become frustrated. We can't think straight we come from this place of like desperation and scarcity and flusteredness. I just don't want to operate from that place. So anyways, after I calm down a little bit. The kids are literally in the car I'm like I got to go make 1 more round I know that that jacket is in there and I really want this jacket because it's going to be cold. Ah, in the mountains and this is the perfect jacket for being outside when you're cold and I wanted it and so I go back to the house 1 more time and I check in an unlikely place we have a storm shelter and a couple months ago there was a tornado over the night and so I'd put in the mattresses in the storm shelter I'd put in like extra shoes. Candles snacks food and stuffed in the corner behind the bed in the shelf was my jacket so months ago thinking oh my goodness we're about to have a tornado that would be a great jacket to have side note like I'm a big preparer for tornadoes I grew up where tornado tornadoes were. So if you are ever or in your storm shelter or in your bathtub or in your closet always brings shoes your keys in your purse and I have thrown my computer any like valuable things real quick because I had a dear friend squirrel sorry I had a dear friend who was in a tornado and it leveled her house. She was in the closet destroyed her entire house. It was the middle of the night and she was by herself and when the tornado was over she opened the door. Everything was destroyed. She didn't have shoes. So I mean everything was destroyed. There's nails debris all of these things and she couldn't even like walk out of her closet to go get help because she didn't have shoes. So side note have shoes. Well I also packed my jacket. In the storm room shelter I found it congratulation Jessica where's my noise makes um sorry I love playing. Um. Okay, Jessica found her jacket, everybody celebrate, and I'm in the car and I'm noticing all these things I'm like whoa! Why did that bother me so bad that I could not find my jacket? Then I realized it was another layer of perfectionism meaning, I was so upset at myself because I put so much judgment on other people who can't find things. I get so frustrated from my husband and my kids when they can't find things. I'm like put it where it belongs, then you'll know where it is ,duh! I have closets. I built you guys spaces for your shoes, if you'll just put stuff where it belongs you'll know where to find, and so I just had so much judgment around people who lost their things are people who couldn't find their things and so when I was in a situation where I couldn't find my thing I did it wasn't where I put it and it was like oh press down measured poured against you judgment heaping on myself and it was so interesting to me. It was this light bulb moment of, “Hey what would it look like in this moment just to give myself some grace?”. Sometimes people can't find their things. What if it doesn't mean anything about them. What if the fact that I couldn't find my jacket doesn't mean anything about me? Sometimes people can't find their jackets. And just untangling the judgment attached to that. Untangling this like oh no people like me don't do stuff like that like people like me do stuff like that sometimes people like you as a successful business owner sometimes you have down days. Sometimes you don't meet your goals. Sometimes you're not on your A game. Sometimes you try really hard and and didn't It didn't succeed. If you stop making that mean that you're a failure or you're a whole or horrible person or you're not a good leader or whatever. Whatever, whatever and they use that as an invitation for grace. An invitation to love and accept yourself and your imperfections. This silly jacket story was an invitation for me to love and accept myself and my imperfections it may seem so silly to you but to me it was like oh okay, another layer. This is a way that I can love myself care for myself. Be easier on myself and other people and because when I love and accept myself and my imperfections. It allows me to love and accept others in their imperfections which leads me to a conversation had with with my coach today and which ought be a whole other episode. It was about lifting weights I'm going to do a whole episode of this on the shame around starting ,stopping, starting stopping, starting ,stopping being a goal. I'm do that the next. 1 of the next 2 episodes will be all about this. But anyways we also talked about had an uncomfortable conversation with somebody and she asked me these 3 questions and she was like how could I see feel and understand this person and I was like I know I should like see their point. How could I see feel and understand them and she was like we get to meet somewhere where they actually are not where we wish they would they should be without judgment. Okay, we get to meet someone where they actually are not where we wish they could be without judgment and what would it mean for me. To look and meet myself right where I am without judgment. This whole concept of acceptance also proves to be need to be as a whole another episode is because we are constantly feeling like we should be better than this. They should be better than this. There's this judgment cycle of like they should be perfect or they should be better or they know better did and it's just this like shame heaping cycle when someone just wants to be met where they are loved where they are accepted where they are yes, they can be challenged but if they're constantly feeling like they're not good enough or they're not enough or they're behind and the key factor here is if you're constantly feeling like you're not good enough. You're behind. You're full of shame. You messed up again. Okay, coming from that place is not going to motivate you coming from the place of “Oh I'm human. I am capable of making a decision so my life can move forward. I am courageous enough to start again. I am going to make mistakes. I am an imperfect being but I am willing and choosing to show up again.” Whoa I lost my jacket! Y’all I lost my jacket. I will lose something else in the future. But it was such a tangible life experience for me to explore. What was the underlying root there? The underlying root there was perfection and judgment that I had on myself and I had another people. The underlying invitation there's always an invitation to unhook a trigger to bring healness healing and wholeness. And so I always want like if the invitation is present if the invitation is there I want to accept the invitation. I want to learn what that life experience has for me and I want to teach and challenge and encourage you guys for anything that comes up in your life that's irritating or frustrating, or get out this feeling wheel like the whole point of when I had you guys do this 3 times a day for an entire week was to first of all even be in touch with what you're feeling in the first place but also notice every time you're feeling one of those uncomfortable or hard or angry or sad like every time you're feeling one of those emotions it is an invitation. You can bring before the Holy Spirit to find some freedom to not have to struggle with that again in the future. To learn the lesson that is there for you and so then you can move forward with more grace with more acceptance and with more motivation to do it differently the next time because you've come to a place of love and acceptance of yourself without judgment. So you then can move forward just how you can come to that place with those that you lead those that you coach, meeting them exactly where they are, and helping them feel seen. Feel felt ,feel felt and understood. Meeting yourself where exactly where they are not where they should be, but where they are. We can work with truth. We can't work with denial. That is such a powerful statement. I can work with truth. I can when I coach somebody I can work with them if they're going to tell me the truth. I can't work with somebody who's in denial or not willing to take ownership ,because ownership sometimes feels uncomfortable. Because we've got to take ownership some things we haven't done or some places we aren't yet but love and acceptance truth the truth will set you free. We can work with the truth! Amen and amen! So I want to challenge you this week in a seemingly mundane circumstance in your life - your marriage, your work, your home. You are noticing that you're getting triggered. How can you then journal ,explore get out the feelings. Bring that before the Lord and find some freedom ,find some healing, find some truth to that situation. So when it happens again in the future it'll be different because you'll be different!

God bless! We'll see you next time.

Hello welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose Podcast. I am Jessica Hefley, and today we're serving up some humble pie because who doesn't want that instead of pride is before the fall? I’d rather eat humble pie instead of fall and so I want humility to in today's episode. It is one of the core when I started my coaching program a couple years ago it used to be called Leading Ladies now it's called Prosperity With Purpose. It can evolve. It can change. You can do whatever you want, you're the business owner! I just felt like this was clearer and more fitting to the purpose and long term mission of what we are about. I did core values, and humility was one of the core values that I still want to live into. I still want to highlight. I still think is important and but kind of the preface humility was she is tender talking in terms of my clients talking in terms of the of the women that I serve. And my ideal client right? She is tender. Heart humility is she is tenderhearted in her childlike faith towards God's loving kindness that leads to repentance and is willing to learn a new thing so really king in there on. Open towards repentance open towards his loving kindness that leads to change and also open to learning a new thing so I'm going to cover 5 quick areas of why humility is so important in your business and in your life and I want this to be on the forefront of my mind on the forefront of my actions. And so I want to help and spread that message to you and impart that to you because it is so important. It is such a differentiating factor in how we lead because we are Christ's followers and humility is an important part of that and how and we demonstrate that and our work and our relationships how we model that. And so here's the 5. Number one, around humility because I long to be I want to be humble. It's not our natural tendency to be humble. But I know that to be more Christ-like I want to be more humble, so that is what feeds my desire to do this. Ok, so but number 1 humility will require you to be a beginner. Are you willing to learn a new thing? You're a rookie at leading your business in 2024 You're a rookie. You have never done this before. Are you willing in this day and age in this day of social media and this day of technology and this day of culture. You've never done it before you may have done a lot of things for 1,2,3,4,5,10 years but in the past, but you've never done it in this present day and age so you have to embrace. With humility being a beginner trying new things different ways to work our business different ways to think different ways to act and be and be willing if what we have been doing in the past that used to work is it anymore. Be willing to be a beginner!

Number 2- be open to the possibility that you are wrong. A big piece of humility is being open to the possibility that you could be wrong, not being so right? That's what pride the opposite of humility is pride and pride is like, I am right. I am doing this, right?I'm up here. You can't tell me what to do like it's this haughtiness that there's a difference between confidence and and haughtiness. Confidence is a good thing. Haughtiness is like this, I don't know this posture, this energy, this presence. I'm better than you I can't be wrong. But I am positive that there's no other way to look at this no other options and and but also a part of humility is so many people that's one side of it. As part is being open to the possibility of being wrong. But also when you are going back to number 1 being a beginner trying new things put yourself out there. You will make mistakes. It will not be perfect and so a part of the human experience is being willing to make a mistake. Being willing to do it wrong. Being willing the reason we are not perfect is why we we need a Savior. Okay because we can't do it perfect, we're not going to never hurt anybody's feelings or never do anything wrong that doesn't mean that we shouldn't do anything! Embrace that you're human. Embrace that you will make mistakes. Embrace that you have a Savior who is perfect, so you do not have to be. But be open to the possibility of being wrong or doing something wrong. Okay, Number 3 - Be the first to apologize. In taking a space of humility and eating that good old humble pie and just being a wholehearted roundabout person is just wise to be the first to apologize. Don't sit there and wait to be justified, wait for somebody to take your side, wait for somebody to understand you, wait for “but you don't understand what they did..” right to be the first to apologize, be the first to forgive. That will give you way more power over the situation over the other person. All those things be the first we can consider being the first to apologize. Number 4- How can you consider another a big part of humility, “Humility isn't thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.” which goes to my point. How can you consider another? So humility isn't thinking of yourself like thinking less of yourself. It isn't putting yourself down, thinking that you're less than and thinking that you're not good up. That's not humility. It's simply just thinking of yourself less. And thinking of other people more. It's not never considering yourself. It's just being..it's just a posture of thinking of other people. The posture of humility, pride is like “No this is what I want!” “This is what I need.” “This is the way it should go!” “This is the only way it should be.” and humility is like “Okay oh how can we consider this other part? This person's opinion? This person's point of view? This person's perspective? It's considering them. It's not thinking of yourself less. It's just thinking of yourself a little bit less in quantity of time so you can say think about others more. Number 5- You may not know at all a way to experience humility - a way to live out humility is having the posture and the thought that you may not know it all. You may not have all of the information. This has been incredibly helpful for me. From someone who used to be incredibly judgmental and think that her way was the best way. It was the only way to do it. I thought of it. It has to be the best. Why is anybody else thinking about this, you have to understand that people make decisions in their life and business without you knowing all of the information, so you can ask curious questions to try to understand. But I often now take the posture when someone does something that I don't think is a good idea or that's something I wouldn't want to do, I don't go about and saying that's the stupidest idea ever, I can't believe I did that can you believe I did that?" I now take the posture of “Interesting, that's interesting.” and then if I want to learn, just even pausing and saying that's interesting because it allows the space of I may not know all the information there. There probably is something else to the story that I am not keen to. I did not know as to why they did that as to why they made that decision and I'm open to the possibility. There could be more to the story. There could be more information and if it is that important then I should ask curious questions never make assumptions another really big piece of humility is. I heard this in a bill Johnson Sermon a long time ago and it really struck out with me is “We cannot Judge. people's assumptions.” So it's so easy for us to be like, “Well they did this because a dot da da da da or I know that they're dealing with it and that's why they did that we cannot judge someone. We do not know why somebody did that something that they did. We do not know why somebody said something to us even if it was hurtful or painful or whatever, or why they made the choices that they make we cannot make it. It is not wise to make assumptions of others and that is something between them and the Lord and again, that's where you can ask questions to learn more conversations but you may not know it all. So quickly I just wanted I just feel like how humility is important, and I wanted to put on the forefront of my mind. I've really tried to there’s multiple opportunities for me to speak up for myself or say something mean about somebody or defend myself or try to over-explain. Over-explaining yourself as a trauma response, by the way, like you feel like you have you're not saying enough because you're so terrified that you will be misunderstood. You will be misjudged. You'll be mis-perceived and the Lord has just really invited me this week and some on some occasions where I have been misunderstood or misperceived by others to really take it before the Lord like let him fight my battles let him be my defender. Let the fruit of my life speak for itself and may I encourage you in that as well when you may often feel like you want to get defensive or prove your point or overexplain your area, so other people will believe you or trust you or be on your side or whatever, like humility is like I just keep doing what the Lord has called you to do. And the fruit of your life will speak for itself. That's a stance, that's a place that's a posture that's and and it's a place of like trust it's a place of intimacy with the Lord. It's a place of allowing him to be your defender. It's a place of and working out your ish with him instead of talking to everybody gossiping or talking to everybody else about it or trying to get other people on your side. It's has been a true area of growth for me for sure and don't we all want more areas of growth? I mean we don't always want them right, but we want what the areas of growth will produce in us. They produce character. They produce endurance. They produce fruit, and the fruit of your life will speak for itself. So I'm proud of you guys, proud of you guys who are really, really wanting to grow in the area of humility in all areas of your life and business. And who knows maybe I'll do who knows who maybe I'll do an episode of all of my values but let me tell you them real quick while they're on the forefront of my mind kind of the core values of my business behind the scenes are Growth, Awareness, Stewardship, Transformation, Humility, Honor and Wholeness. So let me go ahead and read these explanations. I think it's so important and for what you do like your core but we have a core values as a family, and I also have a core values of my business because those are what I want to operate out of what I want to teach about what I want to embody. What do I want to be an example of and what I believe at leading lady. What I believe somebody who prospers with purpose. Entails so growth. So if these resonate with you I would love to explore that more I would love to partner with you inside of Prosperity With Purpose Mentorship because these are the core values that I believe in a woman that is a business owner that will change the world that embeds true prosperity with purpose growth. She is called to multiply her impact personally and professionally and leaves a legacy that impacts eternity. Number 2 Awareness- she is committed to the most important work of taking her thoughts captive and is self-aware curious and compassionate about those thoughts toward herself and others. Stewardship- she identifies her purpose and takes ownership and accountability of her partnership with the Holy Spirit and authority in Christ in her calling transformation. She has hope her future will be different from her past and she believes in the possibilities of change for the better. A renewed mind equals a transformed life. Humility - she is tenderhearted in her childlike faith towards God's loving kindness that leads to repentance and she is willing to learn a new thing. Honor- she honors her time boundaries and commitments to herself and others. Through nourishing routines that feed her soul from a place of rest and wholeness she prospers as she casts off old entanglements and runs freely in abundance spiritually emotionally physically and financially as she empowers others to do the same. Wholeness is a natural outpouring of who she is and how she leads and as I reread the humility one , I just wanted to touch on 1 more thing real quick because it is key. We cannot rush over the part of repentance. I'm going to read the definition. Well my core value of humility again. She is tenderhearted in her childlike faith towards God's loving kindness that leads to repentance and is willing to learn a new thing his loving kindness leads to repentance part of humility is repenting. When you notice something that you have done notice something that you have thought notice the way that you have lived is repenting that before the Lord and confessing that to anybody else that that that that has affected but there is ah a key to freedom and repentance so may. We don't live our life in denial. We don't live our life not taking ownership of our choices. We live a life of repentance because we know that when we repent we can turn from another way. It is it is a representation of humility. We're turning away from that old way going a new way which is also why taking your thoughts captive and thinking. Specific thoughts on purpose is so important because that will lead you to a life of of repentance that will lead you to a life of humility and not pride and like we said I'd rather have humble pie than pride before the fall! Amen. Amen. So these things are important. in your business and in your life and I'm so proud of you for living them out. See you next time.

Welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose Podcast I'm Jessica Hefley and we are doing a little spring cleaning around here. You may think that your cluttered house or your this and that and that has nothing to do with your business, but it does because clutter equals unmade decisions. This is what is happening inside of your head. It is what is happening inside of your body, and it is what is happening all around yo’ house. So we're going to do a quick episode how to spring cleaning. You're gonna do like note your tangible house like tangible things around your house. We're going to help you make decisions because you are capable of making decisions, so your life can move forward. That was a transformational anchor thought for me. As a recovering perfectionist I got coaching years and years ago on this and she helped me have this tremendous breakthrough that decisions were so hard for me because I was so scared that I was going to make the wrong decision. So pick picking out paint colors was debilitating… debilitating! What if I pick the wrong one? What if I don't like it? It all of that came down to this - you are capable! I am capable of making a decision, so life can move forward. You can change your mind later but you got to make some decisions so life can move forward, so life can go can move and not stay stagnant and stuck. Four areas I'm going to challenge you and you're actual living space this week because this does have to do with your mental health. This does have to do with your mental, emotional health. This does have to do with your spiritual health - you doing these things. Choosing not to have clutter in these areas will mean will mean that you made a decision which will also free up so much mental space but give you the agency and the courage then to also make decisions in your business. To not freeze at indecision, to not freeze at imperfection, to not freeze and you don't know you don't know what to do now. You know exactly what to do! You know exactly what to do! Just do it and if you make a mistake or it's not as good as you wish then you can fix it later, but you got to do something so life can move forward. You are capable of making decisions to create peace for your life and that's what we're about round here . To create more peace so you can make more money. That's what the Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship is about that's what our basic intro Mini-course How To Get Off The Hot Mess Express for ninety seven bucks. That's what it is for to help you start to unclutter your life. To help you to make decisions because you are capable of making decisions to move. The 4 areas - here you go 1) The space you've been avoiding the most! That's your first space you're going to declutter over spring break over spring cleaning or whatever you all got one. Everybody got one. It's an area. It's a room. It's a closet. It's a drawer. It's you just stuff stuff in there for forever. Here we go here is where we're starting the place that you have been avoiding the most that is what you were going to declutter and clean first. That's the one we do. One of my one of my biggest and best pieces of advice is do the thing you're avoiding the most first - get it out of the way. Get it done! Everything after that will seem easier. Everything after that will be easier and it will be less work. Do the thing that you are avoiding the most first that's a word. Number 2 I want you to clean your desk or office space. This is something that I'm doing over spring break. We're in a new home. But I for somehow forgot to do my office like it's just plain and I wanted a really pretty black ground if you're watching me on YouTube lI'm in my closet because I have this window here and I kind of like a little mini-desk but also in my office I want to have a beautiful background I want that space to be a space that I love to be, and that I can quickly utilize that I can turn my video camera on and make a video and everything is ready to go so your desk office space create a space for you and there's still like shame for six first six months of my business I work my business on my kitchen table. That's fine with me. But if it but get some organization get some pins get a stapler get your plugins that you need get a some of y'all need to get some buy a printer some of y'all need to go today and actually buy a printer or go buy ink for that printer. Okay, a business owner has a utilizing working printer. What are those areas that just it's like been annoying and you just have been putting off what can you do to make your office area your office work your office space more user, friendly with less resistance. Do you need to buy some sticky notes.? Do you need to actually clean off the top of your desk? Need to buy some new extra notepads and do you need to organize your bills? What is it about that space? How can you make - this is in the book Atomic Habit it's like how can you create the least resistance for the things that you need to do most? Okay, so make it prettier. Maybe you need to do something pretty. And there but a pretty background, paint it I don't know but make your office work space uncluttered and easy to access. Something that you enjoy. A place that you want to go to often and a place that when you go there to work everything that you need to work is there. Okay. Pretty easy. Number 3 your clothes. We actually have foregone a big spring break trip this year actually, had a really amazing trip planned our friend invited us on, but it got canceled. That's another story, so we were sad. Because we had huge big plans and then we didn't have any plans and then we just that was an invitation for us to just to evaluate this is a season. My husband just got back from a long men's retreat and there's lots of things going on at his work and honestly since we moved in our house about four or five months ago there still are some things that we just need to get done. I'm taking my own advice here like there's some things we need to get done around the house to help us feel more at home. I want to do some things in my office. He wants to clean his office. We've been throwing everything in the third garage. That's my number 1 thing is the space. We've been avoiding the most is our third garage. Yeah, but just like I've threw all my Christmas stuff in there. We still have stuff that. Everything that we didn't find its permanent place when we moved in as in the third garage and our third garage kind of opens up to our pool area. It has 2 doors you can like you can park a car in there if you want to or you can open it from the other side and we can use it as like when we have large parties we could put seating at table and and seating in there. We'll put our floaties and pool supplies and stuff in there. So anyways, it accesses to the back part of our yard to our pool and it's full a junk right now and we actually have like this really cool dolly our builder built this in where it's a dolly like one of those things you called dumb waiter, but it's huge and it can hold up to 300 pounds. It comes down from the ceiling. If you're watching me on YoutTube I'm doing our motions where you you're welcome. Um, it comes down from the ceiling you can pile boxes stuff up to 300 pounds of stuff on it and then it goes up into the attic and so you don't have to carry all the heavy stuff up the stairs. So it’s actually really amazing and so we actually just need to utilize it and put a ton of stuff up in the attic which will take me and Rob to both be there at the same time someone loading it someone up in the attic unloading it. We're going to do that this next week because that's the biggest area that we have been avoiding. But also what I'm going to do this week, number three was clothes. This is what I want you to do because I was you can see some of my clothes you get it inside scoop if you're watching on Youtube. Clothes, clothes that can be 1 of the biggest areas of clutter of unmade decisions. How many of you have a closet full of clothes but you go in and you're like oh I can't find anything to wear! I'm tired of saying that because I do have things to wear or if I keep saying I don't have anything to wear. It is time to release it. Go watch some KonMari videos. What is the Magic Art of Tidying Up. What is her tidying book? It seems silly. She like thinks and thinks things for bringing them joy and then gets rid of them if it doesn't bring you joy anymore. Get rid of it. There is freedom. There is more so brain space when you declutter when you make powerful decisions to release something to get rid of something and so I'm going to be going through my clothes. Because I don't like when I come in and I'm like I don't know what to wear I don't know what to work when I'm literally like touching 20 different things I'm going to maybe you just need to organize like give your ah ah and great thing to do is find 5 to 10 outfits that you love that you love because here's also what happens. And I tend to like not wear the clothes that I love because I'm like saving them from special occasions where are the clothes you love wear are the clothes that make you feel good. Okay, so get together like 10 shirts 10 outfits that you love just rotate those. You feel confident in those, they fit good. Get rid of the stuff that just doesn't fit good. Get rid of the stuff that you got to keep pulling and tugging on and that just like doesn't you just like are like oh I don't even like this doesn't even feel good. Why do you keep wearing it? You don't have to eat it. So anyways, this an invitation and this invitation for me to kind of get some. We're moving out the winter clothes bringing down the spring clothes, figuring out what really brings me joy and getting rid of some stuff or putting some stuff to the side that's uncluttering my mind out of the way. So I do have like I have another closet upstairs where I keep like my fun Plexus has provided a lot of like really fun opportunities. For things that I wouldn't have otherwise like I've got some formal dresses. I've got a lot of like dresses up when they take us to Hawaii every year just hawaiian dresses, beach dresses just some fun form other things I don't have down here cluttering my space down here. That's okay, like maybe you need to. Have some of those fun pieces that you really only wear once a year or on a special occasion. Maybe put those in another closet. Go put them in your guestroom closet if you have the space or figure something creative out or maybe get rid of them who knows but close is the third one and then the fourth area is I want you to pick one of the most frequently used. Bases that just it just just needs some attention you know like it's just gotten overwhelmed like maybe it's your silverware drawer like maybe you've just thrown junk in there and you're just like okay it's time I use this drawer all the time. What could I do to? What could this small thing that I could do to provide more peace for my life is just taking a pause and doing that and maybe it's the the top of your vanity like in the bathroom. Maybe it's just covered and hairspray and face washes and makeup and hair stuff and maybe you just pause and you take a moment. This is a space I see every single day. What can I do to get more organized some so really, really like silly thing that I did last month a couple months ago but I was just so proud of myself. Okay, so I had this makeup bag that was a gift it was a gift for my company and I had been using it for years. It was like the perfect size it held all my makeup stuff but it was hideous to me like it was so ugly. Like neon pink and neon purple and I was just like every time I used it I was like I love that this holds my makeup I love it. But it's ugly so I finally just got on Amazon and got me a beautiful new neutral makeup holder and ah and every time I see it now it brings me joy. That's another thing that she teaches you in that KonMari whoever she is. She's like if it doesn't spark joy for you get rid of it like it. It is okay for you to have things in your life that spark joy I went through a season once where I got rid of the socks that always went down when I wore them that drove me crazy. I just done got rid of them. Okay we keep to this is the example of like why do we? We have choices when life is so rushed, and we just keep wearing the same thing that drives us crazy or keep putting on the sock. that we know is going to go down and we're going to be pulling on it and tugging on it forever. We keep using this thing that is just so hideous to us like take a pause. What is something that you frequently use so often that you just need to replace? Are you just need to declutter or maybe you need to get a couple things from the store to help you organize that space or really what you need to do is probably just get rid of some Stuff. Don't get in this notice if you just keep buying organizational bins or baskets or things. To organize your crap when you just need to get rid of some stuff. So anyways, I'm excited for you for this invitation for you to spring clean those 4 areas again where the space you've been avoiding the most is number one get it out of the way number 2 is your desk office space have that be an inviting welcoming. Easy accessible place where it has everything that you need number 3 your clothes that is something that you will need to use every single day please wear Clothes. So do something about that to make that space lest make some decisions you are capable of making decisions to create peace for your life. You are capable of making decisions. So life can move forward and the number 4 is just a frequently used space something that you can do to that space to help you feel more peace feel more ease and ultimately doing all of this is going to help you feel more in control. Okay, that's why. That's with these these cluttered spaces. They feel out of control so they're creating back to the good old feelings wheel they're creating these feelings of chaos or avoidance or um, can I just say chaos again. Like it is which is the opposite of peace and so if you want to create. Maybe you clean out your car the trash in your car like just make the powerful decisions trying to snap into the microphone make powerful decisions that actually don't take very long. But you avoiding them creates more chaos in your life, so create some more peace for your life make powerful decisions. Clutter is nothing more than unmade decisions. Notice how that also is happening in your thoughts and your brains. But that's another episode. We got lots of them. So check the ones in the past check the ones in the future. Still continuing to get so much positive feedback about the 5 part money Mindset Series episode 85 through 89 check that out if you home on Spring break or going on a walk. But anyways here we go I'll let you go have fun decluttering. It's important you are capable of creating more peace for your life.

See you next time.

Hey, welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose Podcast I am Jessica Hefley and hopefully you listened to last week because we are going to touch on it a little bit with this good old feelings wheel it is going to help you when you coach your team or your employees or your line of business. What a strategy isn't the problem, actually a no strategy is not your problem. A strategy is important. But so many people are just seeking “Tell me what to do”. “Tell me how to do this.” “Give me the exact step by step”. I don't have to think of anything and I just do these things. Oh how I wish that was the answer but most people really do know what they need to do they know what they need to do in their business. They know what they need to do in their marriage, their parenting. They know what they need to do to for their health. They know for the most part, the things they need to do you know if you need to lose weight you need to exercise you need to track what you're eating. You need to get more water and need to get more of those things to grow in order to grow your business. You know the things you do you need to market. You need to sell yourself on social media. You need to be there. You know what you need to do and more than likely there is tons of resources training videos. All the things that I've already told you what to do 500 times. I'm more curious about why you're not doing it. You know the things you need to do for the most part and I am not a disser of strategy understand that strategy is important once you know why you're not doing it or more importantly. Know why you are have the vision for where you are going and why is it is important to do this in the first place like what is your self-concept as a leader what you live into the story. You tell yourself. So if you tell yourself I'm unsuccessful. This isn't going to work I've tried that before you make perfect sense that you just continue. To live into that story. It's not working. You've tried that before and it didn't work and you're not a leader. You keep it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy if your identity is “Oh well I'm not a healthy person”, or “I'm not like her”, or “I'm not as extreme as tha"t” or whatever you have to notice. There is something behind there of why you aren't doing it. So why I'm talking about this today? I always come and talk to you about my real life experiences. I have been doing a bunch of coaching calls on my Plexus team. So I've got some leaders I'm trying to help get backup to 3 stars and above, that can come to the mastermind with us and I know a lot of a lot of my listeners are network marketing professionals a lot of my listeners aren't, so this will pertain to both of you and how you can coach others to help them get the results they want so hang tight with me for a second but I was coaching them all. And I have them fill out this coaching call form before the call and I will link that at the bottom for you guys to help equip you with that I found years ago. I used to do a lot of coaching calls and it was just ended up me telling them what to do strategy, like okay you go do this, this, this, this and this that's what I thought. Ah, good leader was supposed to do and I I was successful. I had the track record. So I thought they just needed me to tell them what to do what ended up happening is we I wasted a lot of my time and I hate wasting my time. I wasted my time. I wasted their time. We'd have this great call, and then I wasn't seeing the results. They still weren't going and doing the things even though they had a clear strategy even though they knew the things they needed to do. They weren't doing it and so years later through my John Maxwell training and definitely through my Certified Christian Life Coach training I've learned to be a professional question asker, and that is my advice. Do you shut up and ask more questions? It helps them become aware. It helps them evaluate themselves. It helps them come up with the ideas. Nobody really likes being told what to do like if it's their idea. They're more likely to do it. They have ownership in it. They have empowerment in it. They they understand why they need to do it. It's not just somebody saying do this and and behind the scenes are kind of like I have no idea why she said to do this. This doesn't make any sense to me but she said no when you ask the right questions it reveals the the deeper things. So, I have a whole coaching call for them and I'll go through all of it with you but the most powerful question on the entire sheet is what are you avoiding or resisting if you if and you will you guys? are you. Want to you guys want to prosper you want you want to prosper with a purpose. You know your identity. You know your purpose and your listeners of this podcast you you listened to the old episodes you get it so you are going to allow yourself to ask this question. Most people won't. Because most people will just try to steam ahead with their life and business doing the things and it feels like they have their stinking foot on the break and it feels hard and it feels resistant and they're not resting and they're just hustling and then they burn out or they're lost that love and feeling when it comes to the work again because they lost the purpose behind it. They aren't in touch with their body and their feelings and what their thoughts are actually creating within their physical body holding up the feeling well for you YouTube watchers. Okay, so because if you will be honest about what you are avoiding or resisting I mean those are uncomfortable things. There's a reason you're not doing that live video. There's a reason you haven't been talking about the business more. There's a reason you haven't been creating community in your team. There's a reason whatever the thing is you're resisting, there's a reason, and let's get curious about it because that's what's going to give you the breakthrough not another strategy session not another waste of time for somebody and waste of time for yourself. Getting to be able to identify why you're not doing that that will help free. You? Okay so let's go over the questions on the coaching call. But again like they all did all these calls but what we spent the most time on and where people had the most Aha! moments. The most like oh my goodness I've never thought about it that way. Oh wow this is really going to make a difference is when we covered that question so you can just do that on yourself right now like if you're not doing coaching calls for other people. What personally in your area of work in your area that you have been called to what are you avoiding or resisting. Doing in that area that will actually create more peace for you if you get that over with or you have that conversation or you journal about why you're feeling that way or why you're feeling stuck because at the root of it, are you feeling embarrassed? Are you feeling insecure? are you feeling helpless? Are you feeling confused? Are you worried that you'll be rejected? You have fear of success? Do you have fear of what that would mean for you? What that would look like for you and do you feel insignificant? Would you feel weak if you did something and it didn't turn out? It was fascinating years, years, years, and years ago I took some of my top level leaders on a like retreat to California. We went to a conference. It was like a Christian leadership conference with worship and really great speakers. It was awesome and then we did something scary which is always my favorite thing to do is push my team, push my leaders because it's also pushing me. To do something they're terrified of because after somebody does something they are terrified of, they will walk ten feet taller, they'll act a little bulletproof and even though they may have been scared out of their ever loving mind, it gave them some courage, some bravery. What's this I just wrote this quote down last night. It was about courage. It was so helpful to me hold on. Let me find it here in my notes real quick and “Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the ability to take action”. While experience experiencing fear so many things so people are like oh this feels terrified now courage is still doing the thing even though you feel terrified and so courage is huge anyways I had them do this trapeze like we had. It was a literal trapeze school. It was on the Santa Monica Pier you could see the ocean in the background. We had to go up like climb up this huge ladder. I told the story of 4 on a episode long time ago. But and we climbed up this ladder high to the very top of a platform where you then had to have this oh a sort of baton. It's a literal bar that you hold on and let and jump off the platform and just swing, freefall and there's only a net underneath you and you are up, up, up, up high. It's terrifying and so we did that and then we did it where somebody else was swinging like this is literal trapeze like you've seen it at a circus so somebody else starts swinging, a guy starts swinging by his knees so he's swinging by his knees and then they time it perfectly. They got a microphone and they tell you to jump off the platform. You swing a couple of times you dangle by your knees. You're dangling by your knees. He's dangling by his knees and the timing matches up where you grab arms and you let go and he just holds you. It's so wild and so terrifying and 1 of the coolest things in my life I've ever done. I don't know why I'm telling you this story. I think has to do with pray courage. Anyways, getting your people, getting yourself to do things that they are scared of is my favorite because I know the replications I know the lasting effects I know the memories that that entails but also what that does for their bravery and courage so doing trapeze lessons may be so unrelated to your current business. But it's not because it allowed them to feel the feelings of being scared and then choosing to do them anyways which is like basically everything you're going to do for the rest of your life. So but said that the first six months of your business is really just learning how to regulate your nervous system because you're doing something you're terrified to do, and I would agree that it doesn't stop at six months like you're constantly. We think that we master something we're like oh no I mastered fear or oh no I mastered we're gonna do episode on this I mastered the fear of me and I'm not people pleasing - isn't an issue for me. I've already mastered that. There's always an invitation for another layer of that. Okay I am getting off track but it's good. Okay there. We got coaching call. So let me go through the questions real quick on what? Okay what first of all why I do this is I think it's so important for somebody to take agency before my time with them before their time. You your time is valuable you you don't have to wait till you're as a high level up as me your time is valuable now and this teaches these teaches the people that you are coaching to hold themselves accountable. Okay, so here's the question I'm gonna tell you all the questions and then I'm gonna explain a little bit. Why I ask these questions. Okay and they have to fill this out before our call. At least 24 hours before our call so they have to be thinking about these things they have to be evaluating themselves. They have to be okay. So anyways, I asked them what book you're currently reading. What is your biggest strength as a leader. What are your daily, weekly, monthly tasks that you do for your ah business what are you avoiding or resisting what is your work routine like how many hours a day and a week do you work your business. What is your goal. Why have you not already reached that goal and then I have them do a goals exercise of where they want to be and a year from now. But then also working backwards if you want to be here a year from now where do you need to be in six months. three months. and one month and then at the end I have we filled this out during the call. What are the detailed action steps before our next call and the thoughts you need to practice on purpose. And then how will you feel once you've accomplished these things. Okay, so let me explain what this is very I say strike strategy is not important. This is actually very strategic. However, it's a beautiful balance of both. Okay I once was on a training call and afterwards someone was like I just wanted her to give me strategy and I was like that's so interesting because if that's your thought you're probably over there like she didn't give me strategy, so that makes her feel frustrated. Which then makes her think that she can't work her business or she can't be successful because somebody didn't give her strategy or her thought may have been well she didn't help me but it's not just she. Her thought probably is nobody can help me and when she thinks nobody can help me or she's thinking I can't even help myself. Nobody can help me. It's this feeling of hopelessness. It's this feeling of anger. It's this feeling of frustration and when she continues to believe nobody can help me. She can't help me nobody can help me, and then it just keeps creating “nobody can help me” and this stuckness, stuckness, stuckness. Isn't that fascinating? I go into every training I ever attend thinking I'm going to get out of this exactly what I need. I am going to get out of this training exactly what I need today and that. Opens me up I can learn anything I can learn something from a beginner. I can learn something from someone who's not in my profession I can learn something from anybody because everything in life is a lesson ,and when I think I I am going to get out of this exactly what I need the feelings that creates for me is anticipation excitement. Importance because I'm going to get out of this exactly what I need and you know what happens, then I end up getting out of this exactly what I need and I go put into practice something that I was open to allowing to learn that should be an entire podcast episode all itself. Okay, so here's why I ask these specific questions what book are you currently reading? I am actually going to change this before I give this to you guys because I did this last couple times and they would like just tell me a book they were reading at church or just like this fiction book and I was like I meant what book are you reading in line with your profession like what sales book are you reading what network marketing book are are you reading what leadership book are you reading? And something in line with your occupation. I I ask them this. I don't ask them are you reading a book circle yes or no. No, no, no, no I say what book are you reading because leaders are readers foundationally leaders are readers. If they're not reading a book before they fill this format. They'll go pick up a book, read one page and come back and tell me they're currently reading such and such book. Okay I want to rise them up. Empower them to do the and the activities that will get them the the results that need so. I'm not asking them yes or no questions. Please stop asking your people yes or no questions. Ask them open ended questions. Rise them up to be a leader. A literally tangible example in my network marketing business is I don't say like oh Are you signed up to go to our company convention? I don't say that because that's a yes or no question. I say who’s coming?I don't even ask if they're coming I say “Who do you have from your team that's coming with you to convention?” That's how I ask the question because I'm already assuming that they're signed up because they're they're leader in the business. They should absolutely be going but they should not only just be going. They should be rising up other people on their team to go. That's a word for somebody. Okay, next question what is your biggest strength as a leader I want them to focus on their strengths. I want to know how them to be aware of and know why they're good at this. What makes them unique? What makes them good because again they may be looking at me or someone else and thinking well I'm not like I'm not good at this and this and this like she is or I'm not good in this area. I think they have this preconceived notion that you have to be successful or you have to be strong in certain things in order to be. No I want them to know and and I want to speak life into the things that they are good at. I think that's very important for you as a leader for you as you're coaching somebody else. You definitely want to praise them. You definitely want to recognize the ways that they are unique in their strengths. Okay, next what are your daily, weekly, monthly activities in your business. So I want them to be able to writing that out because people say all the time. Oh I work my business so much and I'm always like “Oh really? Okay, okay, so what exactly and when exactly are you working your business? That's another one of the questions you knowwhat how many hours a week day in a week are you working your business? I want them to actually evaluate it because you know people are like I drink so much water and I'm like oh really like how much you like oh two glasses. It's so much more fascinating so you get clearer on what that actually yes so get clearer clearer on what that. Actually means and this really is for them for them to see and then you can you can offer some it'll it'll provide you some insight to ask some questions on if they like have they work 1 hour a week and their goal is to like reach the top of the company in a year you can ask some because of the fact you said you wanted to be at the top of the company in a year do you think these activities will be enough to get you there. Okay, ask them the question put it back on to them I'm going to I'm getting and we talked about what are you avoiding or resisting. It's the money shot like if they will be still for a moment. To actually tell you what they're avoiding or resisting. It's almost always the reason their business isn't growing so I want to get to the root of it like let's get to the real reason your business is not growing one time I had a girl she and took her child out to like a mother's Stayout program. It was like 4 hours and she got she had she was kid free for 4 hours she went to the coffee shop and worked her business and she was like Jessica I had four uninterrupted hours to work my business and I got so much done! She said but I ran out of time before I was able to make some new reach outs for my business just left inside. Um. Because I was like what did you do for 4 hours? Isn't that funny like her brain was like oh I worked so hard and she filled 4 hours worth of things to do but she wasn't doing the 1 thing that would actually move the needle in her business. Actually grow her business in the present and in the future. So, so interesting. We really also have to evaluate and prioritize the things that need to be done during non work hours. Okay so what is your work routine like I want to hear are they filling in the nooks and crannies are they putting in specific work hours and separating those we would have some discussions about that. Um, what is your goal and why have you not already reached your goal? Yes, okay, so you not being like well here's why I think you haven't reached your goal. No ask them why they think they haven't reached their goal. This is one of the most valuable things you can do as a leader is pause yourself and yeah, there wasn't something wrong in the the podcast recording right? then I just paused for like literally only 5 seconds there is so much power in the pause because it's uncomfortable when you pause so you as a leader have to be able. And willing to feel the feeling of uncomfortable and let it be paused for a while. Let it be silent for a while. Also pro tip don't ever let them say I don't know I don't like if if in the question, why have they not I reachached their goal and they say I don't know why I haven't reached my goal already. Here is your opportunity to say. Okay, if you were to take a guess. Why do you Why do you think keep coming back to it. Don't let them say I don't know. Don't let that be the end all ok so keep being like ok huh like if you were just to take a guess. Why do you think you haven't reached your goal yet. This is so important so important do not answer this question for them. You can you can add some things to it after they answer the question but you would be doing them a tremendous disservice I am so about do not just give a man a fish teach a man. Fish teach them. How give them the feelings wheel like literally you can get the feelings without while you're doing a coaching call like what actually is the feeling that you're avoiding or resisting what is going on deeper. Why are you not already actual talk about some breakthroughs. You'll get some if you'll shut up and ask more questions! Okay, and then a goals exercise. This was really this was really important but this also I learned something new this last round which I'm going to tweak this before I give it to you? Okay, so people were giving me their goal again. This is network I was. Specifically this past week I was coaching people in their network marketing business I coach people in all professions. But for this one they were telling me where they wanted to be in a year six months three months and one month but they weren't they weren't aware of what they even needed to reach that one month goal. So some people were saying they wanted to hit a specific rank this month and when I I tried to ask on this before the call because I didn't want to waste time with this on the call I was like okay you said you wanted to be senior gold ruby whatever by the end of this month how many people do you need to add to your organization in order for you to hit that goal this month and it was so interesting. How many people did not know that number. So I made sure they knew how to do that math before I got on a coaching call with them because we got lots of other things to talk about in the coaching.I don't have time to figure out basic math with them. So this also helps them learn how their compensation plan works or help if you're in a sales industry help them make sure they know how. To reach the goal that they want to reach don't just let them say okay, here's my goal isn't that fun I hope I get it. No they need to know specifically what it will take for for them to reach that goal. You cannot win the game if you do not know the rules so make sure that is incredibly clear for them they can work with numbers. They can't work with oh help a catch it I have no idea how many people I need to even get it now help them to know what that means so then at the end of the coaching call have a detailed action steps for them to take just a couple of steps so they can feel like they are winning. They are going in the right direction but also a very specific thought for them to practice on purpose which will create the feelings that they long to feel in their business. Okay, so if they're in this. They're in a shame season or a fear season or whatever help them have an anchor thought that makes them feel the feelings of empowered or powerful or proud or hopeful or confident like cling to that practice that you you and your body have been on default. For your whole life your mind if when we do not take our thoughts captive. They're just defaulting to something that we don't like and that's what they've done for years and years and years and years and years to so to retrain your thoughts. You're going to have to specifically think them on purpose with intention on repeat. So not only at the top of my calendar I teach this in my mentorship. We write our twelve week breakthrough girls at the top of our calendar every day but we also are writing the thought that we are thinking on purpose the on repeat we are writing it every day we are putting it at the top of our calendar. The top of our mind. So many people. A whole other call and goals that I have a whole nother lesson inside my mentorship that is the the most intrinsic detailed emotional yet strategic way for you to actually accomplish goals within twelve weeks um and being aware of the feelings you need to create in order to to accomplish that goal, but also the thought that you were going to think on purpose is so powerful. Okay, so I know that this is going to be helpful for you and your business no matter what your business is for you and your own life to help you evaluate something you can do this coach and call on yourself. Okay and you could probably have a lot of breakthrough, right? Then and there but I just when I was doing those coaching calls today literally and I did about 6 of them this week. The most powerful thing that happened in every single one of those coaching calls was the question. What are you avoiding or resisting and also the question. Why have you not reached your goal already because that allows them the the space to be honest with their set themselves and we can work with truth the truth is what sets people free not pretending or avoiding or resisting or acting like that is not under an underlying reason of why that's there the truth will set you free. And it takes bravery and honesty and vulnerability and there was ah there was often tears in talking about that that question but that is where the healing happens that is where you can create a different future from your past. So their printout will be in the show notes. So Excited and empowering. This is just like a baby taste within our mentorship. I really do this in real life as I coach people and there's such transformation in coaching and what is unfortunate is so many people are too scared to get coaching or they aren't willing to feel the feeling of like, they're just like oh that feels uncomfortable. But if they would allow themselves to feel the feeling of possibly feeling embarrassed for getting something coached on something that they are they They don't feel strong in but it would make them feel weak or it would make them feel and less than or not good enough or just. Yeah, basically they don't feel strong in that area that is what we can work with that level of vulnerability that level of honest honesty that level of truth is probably what has kept you stuck so blessings to you guys blessings to your breakthrough. Can't wait to visit with you guys next week.

Hello welcome back to the Prosperity With Purpose Podcast. I am Jessica Hefley and today we're diving into one of my favorite tools. That is the foundation inside of How To Get Off The Hot Mess Express which comes for free with the mentorship. This is just a recorded pre-recorded mini-course that teaches you these things. It's for free when you join the mentorship but with the feelings. We're getting in touch with the feelings- I don't know why I'm saying. That's so weird right now. I am very excited about this because most high achievers miss this and this is why they keep experiencing burnout. They keep their anxiety is so high. They may be achieving in their business or in some area of their life but the other areas feel unfulfilled or feel low or feel lacking and they just don't feel like they have wholeness in all areas of their life, and we all know that when one area of your life improves. It helps improve the other areas as well. So I want to help you be a whole-hearted leader. A leader who genuinely loves what they do who operates for a place of purpose who knows who they are because they will prosper and prosper other people in the making. Okay so get out the little feelings wheel we're going to I'm actually going to give you this one part of the welcome packet that comes with How To Get Off The Hot Mess Express mini-course but just the feelings wheel. Okay I want you to be looking at that I ah here I've um, pulled it up on my YouTube video. It's got all these different feelings and about trust me I'm good. This is all going to make sense in just moment. Mad, scared, joyful, powerful, peaceful, sad and actually you know 20 more emotions from each of those that spread out that are more detailed why we're talking about this in the first place. So over and over and over again I hear people say I coach people in their businesses right? I post in my network marketing business, I post about the income. I post about the business. There's things that I have done to actively work my business that have got me to the top of it and then I'll coach some people and they'll say well that just feels inauthentic to me or I'll you know I'll challenge them to do something and they'll be like that feels inauthentic. I want to be authentic in how I work my business or how I post about my business or how I display myself to the world and I'm here to challenge you on that which is so interesting for you to notice. Okay, let's go through inauthentic. What does that mean. What does that actually feel like where are you feeling inauthentic in your body because when I look at this little feelings wheel. So fascinating- the scared section of the wheel. Ah, most people feel they're I'm curious if they're confusing inauthentic with fear with being scared those are very similar feelings sensations and the body they can be. They're commonly missed diagnosed. It's not the right word but people are saying I don't want to be inauthentic when really, what's probably going on beneath. There are some. Other but more specific feelings which would make sense why you would avoid it like the plague but I'm going to help you process those today on this episode so you no longer avoid things like the plague because leaders are not avoiders to help you actually process this so you can move forward to help you actually identify what's going on. And your thoughts and your heart and your mind and in your body so that you can grow your business so that you can prosper so you can have prosperity with purpose. There's 4 that I want to evaluate or talk about today that may be similar to inauthentic but what probably what possibly it could be is insecure number 1 insecure so interesting. Do you notice that the feelings of insecurity could easily be mistaken with I don't want to be inauthentic. What does insecurity feel like for you? Where is that is that in your stomach? Do you get that like pit in your stomach of like, I don't feel confident in this, I feel scared, I feel like I am an imposter, I feel definitely not bold, not confident that this feels new. This feels uncomfortable this feels like I don't want to do that. Interesting. 1 of the things I teach people is that they are able to feel every feeling and not die. Did you die? Okay so insecure I want you to notice if you are actually feeling the feeling of insecurity and where is that in your body take a couple moments and acknowledge that you're feeling insecure in that way. Don't discredit it or discount it or ignore it. Acknowledge that you're feeling that way and then when you fully acknowledge it then you have a choice you have agency over that you can choose to stay in that feeling. It can be like oh okay, I'm feeling a little insecure about this. But I am able to I can make powerful decisions so my life and business can move forward and then choose in bravery to move forward to make that post to start start that podcast to talk about the business to do that reach out to do that marketing. Okay, you have a choice. You always have a choice but when you are unaware and you're just like oh that doesn't feel and that feels inauthentic I'm going to call ah b s and say well let's explore that because that might be something else. Okay inauthentic is like the noble title to put up. I don't want it to be inauthentic. I am challenging you. To look a little deeper because if you keep staying in this I don't want to feel that feeling then you ain't going to be able to move forward. I mean, internet we bless you in the name of Jesus it keeps pausing so we're gonna keep moving forward. Number 2 rejected is also one of those deeper feelings. That is I miss or confused with being scared or being fearful or being in the inauthentic so rejected. Oh I don't want to feel rejected what does rejected feel like to you does it feel like in your head It feels heavy. It feels. Does it feel in your chest like I don't want to feel rejected and and does it just notice is a possibility that you're feeling rejected instead of inauthentic or fear. Number 3 embarrassed. Where do you feel embarrassed in your body? Literally take a moment when's the last time you truly felt embarrassed where did you feel that in your physical body? What part of your body when you when you're like I'm embarrassed where is that? Does your face maybe turn red and hot? Where does it have a temperature? Does it have a color? Does it have a size? What does embarrassed feel like in your body? Journal that, journal everything that comes up with embarrassed. And then you get to choose to move forward. You get to you have the beautiful gift of acknowledging that you're actually feeling embarrassed. That's actually what's going on and then you get to decide to move your life and make powerful decisions to move your life in your business forward. The fourth insignificant. What if you're actually feeling insignificant? What if you actually make that post and nobody likes it or not very many people comment on it? That might make you feel embarrassed like before or insignificant. What's insignificant? It's different for every person. There's no right or wrong answer. That maybe in your throat. Do you feel like your voice doesn't matter.? Do you feel like what you have to sit people don't care about what you have to say so that makes you feel insignificant which is an uncomfortable feeling. But you don't want to feel that make you make perfect perfect sense. Of course you don't want to do things that are going to make you feel insignificant because that is it could be a very triggering thing of something that's happened in your past however that is your past that may have triggered you. In your past. But now you have the tools and the ability to be in the present with the feeling of insignificant you have a loving father who speaks the truth over your identity that you are incredibly significant. No matter. What. Anybody else says no matter how many likes comments email sign-ins orders. You get the the thought ah of that you are insignificant is a lie and you get to choose if you're going to partner with the truth or you're going to partner with a lie so isn't this fascinating. Just simply deciphering when someone's like I don't want to post about income because I don't want to be inauthentic girl. We're going to challenge you on what is actually happening there behind the layers and then we're going to challenge you to do it in spite of those feelings. I have always taught I have knowledge when I am scared of something that means I have to do it I have I just I may I make myself do it because I am oh self-aware enough to notice. Really don't want to do this. This is going to make me feel uncomfortable. I actually feel scared right now I will take a moment I will feel it in my body I will journal about it and then I know that leaders go first I know that leaders lead the way I know that leaders are pioneers. Let's take that back and say all those things for you I know that you are a pioneer. I Know that you go first I know that you steer the ship I know that you are willing to feel every single feeling on this feelings wheel process that and still choose to move forward because we do not allow these things to stop Us. We did not allow these things to stop us in our tracks we did not allow these things to keep us for more prosperity with purpose if you listen to my money five part money Mindset series that are recorded right? but are the episodes right before this one please check those out because those will radically change how you view yourself, how you view money, but this is bigger than money. It's how you view your every area of your life. This expansiveness, this goodness of God like we have too bottled these things up. We have missed. We have misguided thoughts that are actually selfish about like I don't want to do that. I have enough money. I know I'll mismanage it. I I have enough. Like all of those things are so self-obsessed when we are called to steward and multiply we are called to feed the poor we are called to bring our gifts forth. So here's your homework for today. Are you up for a challenge? Because I like to work with people who are up for a challenge. And prosperity in my mentorship. We challenge each other every week because that's how you make someone better is challenged and that's why I am there to coach them inside of the mentorship because what you're doing isn't working or what you do you're doing has gotten you this far. And that's the whole point of a coach to help you bring help bring up some blind spots for you. They're called blind spots because you don't see them you're blind to them so it's so accelerating your growth to have someone to be able to notice those to ask you the curious questions to help you process. And help you move forward on your own. So here's the feelings. Well this is so fascinating. You can see all the different want here. We go that this next week. Try this for one week well first of all, get How To Get Off The Hot Mess Express and this explains it in way more detail. It's $97 it's prerecorded every single person needs this or jump into the mentorship because this is all provided inside the mentorship for free. You take the feelings wheel for one week I want you 3 times a day. It could be right when you wake up around lunchtime or at night or life's crazy just 3 times a day I want you to pick up the feelings wheel. And I want you to actually be able to identify what you are feeling in that moment and it may be more than one and I just simply want you to write it down and help yourself journal about it process about it because here's the thing most of us are here's the key ones or this is not an exhaustive list. It also can be feelings that are not on this list. But. Kind of there's kind of 6 powerful ones like you're either mad or sad or feeling peaceful and powerful. There's good feelings too powerful or joyful or scared but most people like me before learning this work. You know like because there's like over a hundred feelings on this wheel and I'm like there's a hundred feeling like I thought there was 3 angry sad and happy. Like and my life was pretty surface level because and have the depth of being able to acknowledge these and process these and for me for my personality who tends to get angry about out things you know I get that makes me so angry. It was so easy just to be angry or just to be mad. It took more work to look further than what mad was look deeper so really behind the mad I probably sometimes I was feeling hurt or I was feeling frustrated or I was feeling skeptical or critical or hateful or rage or embarrassed like there was something below the anchor or it's so easy for us to be like well I'm so sad or I'm depressed like really let's what actually is going on. What's a little bit deeper than that are you feeling lonely are you feeling bored? Are you feeling guilty? Are you feeling stupid? Are you feeling inadequate? Are you feeling inferior? Or are you feeling apathetic? Get a little bit deeper, because it's so easy to say you're sad or it's easy to say you're mad or it's easy to say I'm scared or I'm not doing that instead explore a little deeper to find some freedom that's what I'm here for to help be a conduit to break these things off to help you find some freedom to live a wholehearted life. So there you go pretty simple just look at just start notice. So many people are so out of touch with their body like I will ask them coaching questions. It's so fascinating I'm like okay well how does that make you feel and then they'll go and they'll talk for 5 minutes about all their thoughts I'm like. Let's go back to it. Those are all thoughts but how are those thoughts making you feel in your physical body god made our bodies. This is not like woooo weird stuff like this is how god made us so we've got to get back to the body. Get. Back to what we're actually feeling and then we will have with more understanding about why we have been acting certain certain ways or avoiding certain things avoiding certain conversations or avoiding doing things in our business avoiding moving forward. We're upper level living in us limiting ourselves that the list goes on but this is an excellent self-awarenessreness, self- empowerment tool that will give you agency and specific specificity on what’s really going on so 3 times a day check in with the Wheel notice where and it could be more than one at you know every time you check in it give me 1 on top. 1 time. From 1 uncomfortable conversation I had with somebody, processed it and I had 11 different emotions that I was feeling in my body. It was like once I process one it was like oh I'm embarrassed and then like oh wait. No I'm angry. Oh did I do something wrong. It was this beautiful thing and then after I process it I was. It felt so much lighter it wasn't triggering me. It wasn't triggering the anger or triggering the sadness or triggering the fear. It was like oh wait. No this is actually what's going on huh as not a big of his deal as big of a deal as I thought and I am a person of purpose who lives on purpose. So I want to move forward. So we started all of this from the original thought of when people were saying I don't want to be an authentic. Super interesting. I want you go back and to explore those 4 areas could you instead actually be feeling insecure or not wanting to feel rejected embarrassed or insignificant. Super. Super powerful. That's I'm here for I'm here to help you have the breakthroughs y'all we'll see you next time.

Welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose podcast, I'm Jessica Hefley, and I think we could go on and and on with the Money Mindset series forever. But we're going to leave it part 5 from last week and we're going to go move forward from now on. This will be a little bit about money. So many other episodes in the future because this is Prosperity with Purpose. But today let's talk about expansiveness. Let's talk about some of the things we went through in the last 5 episodes. Go check those out. Start with episode one. I believe it's actual episode like 85 but episode 1 in the Money Mindset period. But it is episode 85. Okay, check that out but put it in the show notes where you can get that started. The second part ,the second one of the series talked about who I don't want to give it away, I want you to go listen to it. Okay I'll give away because I have to help you understand what the context of episode is, so I had you go back and listen to it. It's very powerful. I had y'all put your dream big dream goals like income yearly goals like a big stretch goal and I had you scratch it out and double it and I want to talk about that again for a second because there's something that that does to us if we allow. It's called expansiveness is starting to. Allow the possibility of something bigger than you had imagined before is starting to allow that thought to creep in to think about it to not let it be like so sticker shock. The first time you ever see it but start thinking about hey that actually could be possible for me that amount of income actually could be a really big blessing to those that I love and could help make the world. A better place. Okay, so expansiveness and this whole concept of expansiveness led me to thinking differently again which usually always takes us back to right thinking. Differently So I've been going on daily walk and we have this. We're not in a neighborhood. We're on a bunch of acreage but we're close to a neighborhood So go walk in the neighborhood and there's this really big Hill. Really big long Hill I like to consider call it. My Booty Gains Hill. Watching walking it every day I'm like yeah I'm gonna get some booty gains. That's how it just makes me excited Anyways i' been going every day. It's amazing. What yeah, what will happen in your life when you decide to have to decide ahead of time that you'll do something Anyways, the other day I was like I'm just gonna meditate on this one verse over and over and over in my mind Romans twelve. To do not be conformed to the pattern of the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Okay, so I go on a walk and I'm just thinking about it that Verse I'm saying it out loud I'm allowing mine to think on it and ponder on it even and ah the passion translation I Love how it is worded in there. Says stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you but be inwardly transformed by the holy spirit through a total reformation of how you think renewed renewing your mind completely changed by how you think so I'm going to my walk and I'm just thinking about the scriptures over and over and over again and it's reminding me again that we think differently as followers of Christ. We think differently as leaders we think differently than other people, and so it's just this expansiveness theme and thinking differently calling myself higher. Calling other people higher, call it not just calling myself I've been since I've been in this expansive mode these last couple of weeks I have been calling my team hire I have been calling my friends hire I have been It's like what this is this is the power of growth. This is the power of you joining the prosperity of purpose mentorship because when you work on you. Your thoughts your processes your emotions how you show up how you how you steward your time and your money and your resources how you grow your business like that gives you authority to set other people free in that area is this so interesting. Some people ask me today like my budget on what I spend. On like reinvesting back into my team or gifts or prizes or things like that for my network marketing team and I was like my biggest chunk is investing in me and that's not selfish and I said if you want to 10 x your business. The biggest amount of money you should spend is should be on your own coaching because you will then. Have the agency and authority in those areas to help your team I believe that has been 10 fold sent back to me because of how I have had I have made this a priority to grow to stretch to be uncomfortable to learn to get coaching to ask the uncomfortable questions to put things into play to be able to be uncomfortable, to be able to be embarrassed and asking things that I don't want to ask all of those things have provided breakthroughs that in turn I can now have other people on my team have breakthroughs. It is the best investment. So anyways, thinking differently if we have to think differently, who is challenging you to think differently? How are you daily and weekly investing in thinking differently? So anyway, so my original really big scary goal was $10,000,000 a year. I'm like, “Oh my goodness that just seems so big and hard!”, just different from what just anyways so when I had to cross that out because I do but I do what I tell y'all to do it then became $20,000,000 and it's been really interesting to these last couple weeks allow my brain to be like $20,000,000 so a person who earns $20,000,000 a year. How do they show up? Who and what kind of person is that? What kind of person do they hire on their team to help them? How do they think? How do they show up. How do they give, and it's been really fun to allow your brain to start this, so I'm excited about you guys as you have started to double that and started to just enjoy the possibility of that enjoy expanding your mind around that amount because your body won't go where your mind hasn't already been so even like literally journaling about it like having fun with it all the things that you're going to do with it anyways. So and just focusing on expansiveness and focusing on gratitude the other day. Okay, so recently got a text from a very high up person at our headquarters for the network marketing company that work with Plexus. Anyways, it wasn't any special to you but how she worded it sparked expansiveness in me. She just had mentioned some research and some things that they were going to bring to us at convention and how a legacy leader like me would be really interested in learning about this. What are you really interested in growing this way, and I could have just been like yeah didda du but when she it was like when she called me a Legacy Minded Leader. It was like oh okay, legacy minded leaders make $20,000,000 a year. Legacy Minded Leaders are expansive. Expansive legacy minded leaders think differently than other leaders. It like took me to another level higher of the possibilities and took me another level higher in my identity. So when I was thinking that I'm just a leader you know or top leader I don't know. Oh and she probably doesn't even know this. I’ll tell her that but when she said it legacy minded leader it just it rose me up I'm like I want to be that I want to be a person who learns about this I want to be a person who is the legacy minded leader because that's bigger than just a regular leader that is leaving a legacy. I just found that super interesting the timing of all that of you know that expansiveness that next level of thinking I had just went on a walk. It might have even been that day when I was really, really thinking over and over again. “Do not conform to the pattern in this world. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” have you ever done that if you've like really chewed on that particular verse? “Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 fun fact in our new house we built a house last year have we have a powder bathroom in the hallway, and I have wallpaper that is all the book of Romans written on wallpaper. I love it in there. It's like my moody bathroom. I've got one wall that's got the Romans all over, but it's behind the mirror I've got like a pretty mirror and then the rest of the wall is like a dark, pretty moody color. But anyway. Okay, so do not be transformed do be not be conformed by the pattern of this world but be transformer renew renewing of your mind I'm going to read it again in the passion translation stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you. But be inwardly transformed by the holy spirit through a total reformation of how you think how you think it is that important when I talk about it over and over and over again is because it is that important. When you get the $97 “How To Get Off The Hot Mess Express” mini course which every single one of you needs because it is that important it is the layered foundation of what I teach inside of my mentorship teaching you how to take your thoughts captive, teaching you how to understand. Thoughts create feelings which are creating actions or inactions. It is so incredibly powerful and speaking of stop imitating the world and the opinions of the culture around you be okay, y'all this also happened this week. The Lord just lines all these things out that are happening in my own personal life and then I come and talk to you about him on podcasts see what I mean that's what I'm talking. When you get coaching when you are aware of all these things you can then go and teach your people train your people about how the lord is downloading things in your life as you are open to the expansiveness of it anyways. Okay, y'all. Gonna talk about it for a second not because I want to get it give this person any more publicity but this was an example that came to my mind. Okay, so a certain someone who is not a country music. Singer has a big country music singer top hit right now I have avoided. Okay, when that first came out. It's. Beyonce and so the texas hold him zone. Okay, hear me out when the I have I got lots of thoughts and feelings around her but they're not conspiracy theory thoughts and feelings. It would be wise of you to be careful about that song and be careful about her I'm saying it.

She literally says she has an alter ego that something possesses her body and she becomes someone else. Yeah, that's demonic. Sorry I'm laughing because I'm uncomfortable, I feel uncomfortable but you got to be careful. So here's the day when it first came out I went and looked up the lyrics because I'm always like I want to make sure like what is she saying in this like what? What? This is very interesting that she's coming over into the very conservative country music market isn't it anyways. So I went and looked up the lyrics I'm like these don't even make no sense. This isn't what is a song even about. Yeah, it's got a catchy tune. But this doesn't even sense. So I refuse to put it in any of my reels y'all but the other day was just innocently scrolling and so it was in somebody else's reel that I follow and then I went to go take a shower. And I could not stop singing the song and I kept catching myself and I was like, why am I singing the song? Why is it so catchy? And then I started to think what are the other songs in my life that are like popular, popular songs and they're so catchy and you can't stop singing them and then get in your head I'm like y'all go look her and Taylor Swift are like best friends forever. And Taylor Swift is not even hiding it. She literally says she's a witch she literally says she makes songs for witches. We got to be aware of these things whether you like it or not there. It is there. It is. And so in light of that when I was like could not stop singing that song I was like no no no and then I got out to shower and I'm like I have to make a or later on that day I was listening to some sort of worship music and I was noticing a theme around some of them around gratitude I'm like I have to get a playlist out to my listeners. Some worship music on repeat that is about gratitude, and so I'm going to put the playlist down in the show notes for you guys because it's just important for us to renew our mind. It's important for us to catch ourselves on what we do have on repeat repeat repeat repeat and is that the truth. Is that the truth over you is that going to help you in your walk and help you in your journey and propel you forward or just like stall you on repeat singing some stupid song. They don't even make no sense. Okay, so that's what I got for today. So listen to that playlist work on your own awareness and expansiveness around that like a big, huge scary goal of the income and see what the lord does with that see what ideas start spreading like this week for example in Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship I was teaching on hiring, delegating and resting. Most people aren't thinking about hiring and and delegating at a next level. If they want to if they plan to increase their income or even keep their own income they have now. But to delegate and hire is something most people avoid but man when you really grasp that and the reason why and how that. Stimulates the economy and provides a good job for somebody else, but it really also helps you operate in your zone of genius doing the things that only you can do doing the things that god has gifted you with to steward and multiply and letting somebody else take care of all the other things. Welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose Podcast. I'm Jessica Hefley, and this Money Series why don't we go one more week? Why don't we? We can call it part 5. You can call it “Jessica was going to talk about this anyways”, an extension to the whole concept around money. Today we're going to talk about lies you believe you've been thinking that are selfish about money. Make sure you're in the Prosperity with Purpose Facebook group each week! We're doing monthly giveaways in March for y'all who are sharing and passing this word along and helping set others free and helping your teams and your friends and your family have breakthrough in this area, so they can have more prosperity with purpose.

Let's hop to it! 6 lies about money that are keeping you from prosperity. Yep, your thoughts about money are actually selfish and we're going to cover 6 of them. Are you read? Because real prosperity is defined by how much we give away not by how much we are keeping for ourselves. We about to break, I feel like I have a breaker. Ah, what do you want to even call it? I have the ability to help people break out of these glass ceilings out of these old ways of thinking that is just the Lord working through me, but there are ways that have kept you thinking that money is selfish that are keeping you from making as much as you possibly can because more money in the hands of good people is going to change the world.

Prosperity is not selfish.

Prosperity is not about you. The motivation for prosperity is about desiring to have the resources to bless others and accomplish what God has called you to to do. Prosperity is about blessing not possessing, so go to www.jessicahefley.com/money. I've got a printout for you guys that is all scripture around money to help you renew your mind. Biblically I'm not making this stuff up. I'm not being hokey. I'm not trying to make you believe something that it's not Biblically based. Renew your mind repeat, repeat, repeat. Get this printout print it out, read it daily. Look it up in your Bible see it all of these scriptures around money. I'm going to quote some of them for you in just a minute but lie number 1 about around the concept of your thoughts about money are actually selfish I have enough have you ever have you ever thought that thought about money? I have enough, I mean I. Ah so many people join my network marketing company and they get caught in this like oh I have enough I mean my bills are paid I'm so grateful. My family is taken care of. Selfish - I'm calling you out because you know what the only people that you are thinking about is you. Good for you. Your bills are paid for, but there are other people who need your help- the poorest way to help the poor is to be poor. So when your thought is “I have enough”, that is the focus of that is I,I,I,I. Prosperity is about blessing not possessing. If you have the talents, gifts, and ability, if you are able to steward what the Lord has entrusted you to multiply, then you'll never have enough because enough is not just for you. It's for others. Okay so I have enough and want you to ask yourself if you're ever thinking that thought or living into that thought of oh I have enough money. We notice that that actually is a selfish way to think. Number 2 “It's not that important, money's not that important.” Okay, you ever caught that one I've made a bunch of reels about all these money topics. It's not that important. Love is really what's important or you know family is really what's important I ain't saying the Bible and people ain’t saying you have to choose 1 or the other why can't both be important. Why do you have to have this hierarchy of which they are important if you think that money is not important I bet you don't have very much of it. Because people who have a lot of money and are using that to bless the world and using that to bless others. They know it's important. Money is important. Money funds. everything the bad and the good. I was just watching The Chosen again. The new episodes were out in the theater and I was just reminded that Jesus's ministry was funded by wealthy people. There was this lady who keeps sending them gifts of extravagant silks and coins and different things that can go and sell in the market and get a lot of money for it. Okay, so if that was just “I have enough.” “Money's not that important.” No, she absolutely understands that money is important. She understands how to steward it. She understands how to multiply it and because of that she is able to fund Jesus's ministry fund other things with the extra with the money. Money is not bad. Can I scream it from the mountaintops? Money is not bad! Money is not bad! Money is not bad and money's not bad! Okay so number 2 was “It's not important.” It is important. Okay number 3 your thoughts around money that are actually selfish number 3 is “I don't need it, I don't need it.” I mean kind of goes in with the first one I don't need it. The I focus where we get back thinking of like I don't need anything else I don't need so like can we switch that focus offs off of eye and put it on someone someone or something else god has put. A burden on your heart for something that your life living out your life is the answer to that prayer oftentimes we're praying like Lord would you help this person or would you help this ministry or would you fund this or this people or in real big need Lord provide for that. What if we start thinking about those up those prayers, those opportunities as ways for you to be the answer to that prayer for the burden that is on your heart for you. To fulfill that with the blessing and the prosperity that flows through your life to answer that prayer. Interesting way to think about it. Didn't you think number four “I'll mismanage it.” This is another one of your thoughts around money that are actually selfish. If you continue to think well if I get any more money I'll mismanage it. I had a whole coaching session on this couple years ago. This was such an eye-opener to me. This was one of my thoughts I kept thinking. Oh you know we haven't note we have enough it was using all of these selfish things that I'm teaching you not to think. I was thinking? Oh you know we have enough we have more than enough we have more than enough we'd ever dream that we would ever have so and and I'm just scared like I don't know how to invest I'm not real savvy in that area. I don't, and she helped me see what in the world. What if you can make more money and figure it out as you go right. Like what if that's the thought instead of I'll mismanage money what if instead we switch that for the thought of I can make more money and figure out it figure it out as I go because I was repelling I was in a stage where I'd made the same amount of income for years I was repelling more income because of some of my thoughts like oh I have enough priority have more than other people or I'll just miss Me. We'll just Miss We We don't know how to invest very smart like those were all thoughts that were repelling more prosperity to flow through our life to be able to help other people with it. If you don't know what to do with it, give it away. If you have some sort of secret cap in your mind of that's this is X amount of money that I want to make in 0 more great than keep that amount of money and give everything else away. Don't let that be an excuse to not make more to not have more prosperity flow through your life. This very podcast is called Prosperity with Purpose. Okay, when you are living with purpose. It is so bit much bigger than you. It is so much more than you So All these I I have enough. It's not that important I don't need it I'll mismanage it. Those are all eyes those are putting the selfish focus on you instead of the bigger picture. Okay number 5 I don't deserve it. So. Interesting. What makes someone deserve or not deserve it or what makes someone that you would gift the money or the income to deserving or not deserving who would you be without the thought of I don't deserve it. If you go back to episode 1 of the Money Mindset series all around money is neutral. The neutrality around money. It doesn't mean anything your worth doesn't come from an amount of money that you have or make or amount of money that you don't have or make it. It doesn't mean anything you get to you get to choose what you make money mean. And you thinking I don't deserve it unfortunately is blocking off and capping off an an no sealing amount of money flowing through you to help other people because you think that you don't deserve it. So. Interesting, right? Such a selfish way to view money such a selfish way to view prosperity and then number 6 number 6 thoughts around money that are actually selfish is god wants me to be poor or it's more nobler. To be poor who taught you that who taught you that I used to think that this was a lie that I used to believe I think oh god can only teach you about character or teach you hard lessons when you have 0 money and have to depend on him. There may be seasons for that. But that is boxing god in god. Can teach you lessons when you're a multibillionaire and he can teach you lessons when you have $5 okay, that has nothing to do with how god can talk to you how god can change you how god can work through you what layers of of selfish you're going to have to work through the amount of money, does not mean that. What matters? What's so important is doing all of this in partnership with God because apart from me, you can do nothing? Okay, but for you to think you're more nobler because you're poorer that I'm going to call that out as pride because again, you're not better than me because you have less money than me. I am not better than you because I have more money than you. Because remember money doesn't mean anything. It is neutral. You could decide what you make it means but it can fund those things that you have been dreaming to fund. It can buy somebody a house. It can buy someone who depends on who do. Devotes their life to ministry and doesn't even have a working car to buy them a car. It can scholarship people to special retreats. It can pay for adoptions. How do I know those things because we've done all of those things from the flow of prosperity through us to other people we have been able to radically bless and let's stop judging. Radically bless you paying for someone's coffee is just the same as us buying somebody a house to live in. Stop there's no hierarchy or lowerarchy - it is all about having things flow through you to bless others. Okay, but you might as well make more you might. Make a ridiculously amount of more money to be able to do more of those things if you're watching me on Youtube I am like flailing my arms getting a little hot on this. Okay, so go to Wwwwdotjesica heffley.com/moneyto get these scriptures. Okay, because we want to have prosperity with purpose. We did Dave Ramsey years and years ago. I love Dave Ramsey, my husband hates it I will love it. I was such a nerd. The concepts of it all. But I remember we actually went through the video series at church. And you know his concept of living is live like no one else so you can give like no one else and I will never forget I think it was like week 10 or 12 or whatever it was the last week. It was such a well done video like they had that they showed this video and had like emotional music and it had actors playing out the story but it was this story of how a family at church wanted to adopt and because another family had lived like no one else had been good. Stewards had made good had made more money saved money they were able to write a $30,000 check to pay for this entire person's adoption just like write a check and I remember that this was probably gosh fourteen years ago like I will never forget what emotion that invoked inside of me to be able to live in such a way where I you know my past was like. I can afford to give you $15 for your mission trip or whatever you know to be able to write a $30,000 check for somebody's adult like to me that that that speaks to me and that's maybe why adoption is so important to me I think it's ridiculous I think it is the dumbest thing ever that people have to pay 30 plus 40 Plus thousand dollars to adopt, that makes me righteous angry because so many good people who have a heart to adopt don't even pursue that because they think I can't afford it I'll never be able to raise $40000 we'll never be able to come up with $40000. I want to help make that money and I want you to help make that money too like I want whatever the Lord has burdened on your heart make more, make more so that you can be the answer to that prayer. So what do you long for what's a burden. What's the way that you can shift these thoughts about money that are selfish to actually be. Truly prosperous. Okay, the 6 lies again are ah number one I have enough number 2 it's not important number three I don't need it number 4 All I'll mismanage it number five I don't deserve it again. All of those are I and number 6 is more nobler to be poor. Read you some scriptures from this printout that you guys can get at jessicahefley.com/money this is 3 pages of straight up scripture horrible there you go so important to renew our mind to the truth. The truth is Jesus and the truth will set you free. Not what Jessica says. Not what anybody else says but from your own study from your own being in the word for your your own renewing your mind to the truth here. Go proverbs. There's just a couple of them proverbs 1022 the blessing of the Lord brings wealth and he adds no sorrow to it that was one I had to renew my mind with because it kept feeling guilty or shameful or have more money than them or oh I'm able to afford this and they are I kept being in this comparison ish. Okay, no the blessing of the Lord brings wealth and he adds no sorrow to it. You are doing nothing wrong for making money you are doing nothing wrong for making a lot what is even a lot of money again that's the the judgment scale again. Just stop judging. What is a what is a lot but have like we did in episode number 2 we did. We did a money exercise off the bat if you have not listened to that. Go back I think it's episode 86 it's part 2 in this money series where I have you do a income exercise to help you crush through. All your thoughts and dream bigger have the bigger possibility of a certain amount of income because I do believe it's important to have goals to have aspirations to have things that you are working towards because that will push you further that will get you out of your comfort zone more. That will help you focus more on others than this selfish place that keeps us um, stagnant and stuck okay proverbs 3 8 honor the Lord honor the Lord with your wealth with your first fruits of all your crops then your barns will be filled to overflowing and your vats will brim over with new wine honor god with your wealth. That's what prosperity with purpose is for honoring him with your wealth. What's mother ones um proverbs 13:22 A good person leaves an inheritance to their children's, children. Hear me it is time for us to raise up and have a completely different money story, a completely different money result than our parents and our grandparents did this first are ah a good person leaves an inheritance to our children's children that is about finances but that also is about an emotional and spiritual intelligence that it's also about the things that you break off curses that you break off that affects generations and generations. But when it says the inheritance for your children's children that is not just thinking about your kids in their future that is you financially thinking about your grandchildren's financial future. What sort of legacy. Do you want to give them. How do you want to set them up not to be striving or just getting vibe but to truly prosper and truly understand the entrepreneur your spirit and truly understand stewarding or multiplying so they can in turn do the same thing for their grandchildren proverbs. Third. 11 proverbs 11:23 A generous person will prosper whoever refreshes others will be refreshed that verse will always be really special to us. Cedar Rock ministries is 1 of our favorite ministries. We so used to be on the board for that. It's a really ,really, really intentional marriage retreats. They do one couple and you get to spend so many intentional hours with Nick and Renee Fouts, and it's it's unlike anything I've ever experienced. You've been to marriage retreats before this is not like that this is very so hard to explain actually I have an episode about it So Keri put that in the show notes about you can go listen to what it's all about, but it helps you in your connection with yourself and God. Your connection but to yourself and your connection with your spouse in some of the most intentional intimate ways I've ever experienced. Anyways. so one of our favorite things to do is send people we know need that. pastor couples to that to those retreats. We know we are so grateful for pastors we are so grateful for their service. We honestly know that they probably don't make much. For what they actually do and the impact they have on the kingdom. So we love to bless them a lot of our but lot of our best friends are in full-time ministry its just a heart that we have me and Rob used to be in ministry used to be youth ministers. We are called to ministry in the marketplace so we are not called to a full time position at the at at church but we love to pastor our pastors. We love to pour into them. We love to be a sounding board for them. We love to be a safe friend for them. That's not in all the meetings and all the not not in it someone that they can lean on that's a little bit removed from the day to day. Anyways, we've seen lots and lots of couples. It's one of our most favorite things to do to this but 1 pastors in particular and they have 6 children that 6 children and and I don't know I just knew that if you got 6 children and three of them were triplets that it probably was a little bit tired, so we just felt really led to send them and after the retreat they sent us a note and they put this verse in there I was not expecting a thank you note that is it was just this sweet, sweet, sweet gesture. And they put this Verse Proverbs 11:23 They were so grateful and and Proverbs 11:23 says A generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. and I've kind of taken that on as I want to be generous I know that when we refresh. Others we in turn are refreshed and that is what I want for every single one of you listeners to stop thinking and viewing these money thought to stop coming in agreement with all of these thoughts that are selfish around money that are only thinking about you only focusing on you. And help you have a bigger view of real prosperity is not defined by how is defined by how much you give away not by how much you keep for yourself. Prosperity is about blessing not possessing so I just pray a blessing over you this week as the Holy Spirit works on your heart. As he downloads things that he is gonna he is calling you to be the answer for that prayer as he blesses your business as you are consistent as you are focusing on serving as you are focusing on who God has called you who God calls who God says you are and who you are called to serve. Pray a blessing that you take that you tear off the spirit of comparison or the spirit of apathy or and the spirit of perfection or obsession with self and all these selfish thoughts and take on his view of you his view of money his view of prosperity and I disbellive but all my heart was really excited to kind of end this series with this, because it is just so important. It so important for us to renew our minds. It is so important for us to have a bigger picture. It is so important for us to have that that humongous goal that we have thought about we've allowed our brain to The mustard seed of possibility that can be possible for you in your future and that seed as you continue to renew your mind with these verses as you continue to be aware of your thoughts as you continue to continue to redefine prosperity that seed is growing which in turn with that will come supernatural ideas on how to work your business supernatural connections. To bring blessing to your business. Supernatural ideas like that all comes because you become the answer to the prayer the income through you meets the needs of others prosperity is about blessing not possessing so y'all go make a ton of it Amen, Amen. See you next week!

Welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose Podcast I'm Jessica Hefley. I don't know why I did that? Okay listen if you're not in the podcast group, we have a Facebook group Prosperity with Purpose Facebook group! We're doing some fun giveaways and some fun stuff in that group. You want to be in there! My show notes has a link and Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship is where you will get coaching from me to have the breakthrough individualized one on one. To help you process all of these money money mindset things at a level that you've never thought about before. At a level that is so transformative in helping you step into a different purpose!

Today we are talking about all about the attitude of gratitude, because how you view money is how you view other areas of your life! You may think all this talk, by the way we're on episode 4, of a four part series on money mindsets. This is the fourth one - go what we've got lots episodes for that! We're in a series right now about money minds up and how you view money is how you view all other areas of your life. You might. be thinking “You know, money's not that important!” Ah that was my evil laugh! Okay, money's not that important, and I bet if you that is your core belief, I bet you don't have very much of it because the people who have money understand that it is important. Understand the tool that it is and understand it's way more than just money and I'm going to show you how? Okay,. So for example, how you view money is probably how you view all areas all other areas of your life If you're thinking I don't have enough if you're thinking I don't have enough money and I bet you. You're also believing I'm not Enough. Or you may be thinking I'll never have enough money what else in your life. Do you? Also think you'll never have enough of love Relationships Happiness peace seeing the correlation here if you feel a lot of like bitterness around people who have money a lot of judgment around people who have money or don't have money or whatever. Ah I bet you're struggling with some bitterness and judgment around lots of different areas of life. Lots of other things in life and if you're feeling like obsessed with the amount of money or obsessed with what you have or obsessed with what you don't have. I bet you're more of a jealous-obsessed person about other people's opinions or and what you own or what you don't own like the obsessiveness of being involved their children's life or the obsessive enough of of everything your husband does or you know like it. It equates to the other areas of life start noticing the correlations. Maybe maybe you're suspicious like isn't that suspicious of that meme on Instagram you know like maybe you're really suspicious of somebody who has a lot of money huh I wonder if you're also suspicious of. Lots of other things going behind the scenes or in the scenes or you don't trust anybody or notice the theme. Maybe your maybe your thought or your belief is that money is slimy or bad or dangerous and then I bet you don't just think money is slimy or bad or dangerous. You probably think. All humankind are all people are slimy and bad and dangerous. So that's so interesting because all of those views right? They tend to have like a closed-ness a stuck-ness you know, bitterness, jealousy, judgment - judgmental, obsessive, suspicious, slimy and dangerous. I'm not enough like those all kind of are like a closed way to view life- a closed way to see the world, right? Instead of this this attitude of gratitude. I hate cheesy cliches. I hate them. But I mean attitude of gratitude, but it's true. This attitude of gratitude. This way of being in life that is abundant and full and open and you know gratitude. I bet you if you have a lot of gratitude around your money, I bet you have a lot of gratitude in other areas of your life for the things that you own the things that you have the experiences. That you get to experience the relationships that you get to be in a relationship with I bet you. There's a lot of gratitude in all areas of life I bet if you are accepting of the reality of your money situation right? now we talked about that last week as if when you are more accepting of what is accepting of reality when you. , are willing to come to grips with what is that I bet you're accepting with lots of other areas of your life and I bet you that brings you a lot of peace and a lot of empowerment if. You're really generous with your money that I bet you. You're really generous with your time and you're really generous with your thoughts and you're really generous and how you believe in people and you're really generous with your , your curiosity with yourself and generous with your curiosity with others and generous. And how you think about yourself and generous and how you think about others. So interesting how that is also correlated to how you are with money. If you're really trusting what you're trusting around money you're trusting in yourself, you're trusting in your ability to create more. You're trusting, and I bet you're more trusting of other people and more trusting in your relationships and more trusting of God and more trusting like when you I bet you when you give when you if you you know when you tithe like that isn't and just a law to do just because God said but it's it creates this relationship of trust it creates a. This relationship of I Trust God with this I trust that he will provide for me this this beautiful generous open stance in life right? like it's open when you believe that money is a tool for good and I bet you believe that lots of other good is possible in the world. Lots of other things can be used. For good your times your talents your resources can also be used for good and I bet you're using your money for good but you're also using other areas of your life for good. It is such an open stance a wholeness view of life Such an It's a way of viewing life from ah from a posture of growth. A posture of abundance from a posture of openness and all of those ways create Peace. So the other day when I was thinking about doing this episode just gratitude in general and I I noticed that it gratitude takes a pause right? like so much in Life. We have to pause and notice our thoughts pause and decide if you want to keep doing or acting the same way or if we want to do or act a different way like there's so much power in the pause and gratitude takes a pause and so I just paused there and I was just and I literally started to list things out like everything that I am grateful for, and because it's so easy to be grateful for the big things. You know the ways that you get at work or a really phenomenal connection or a reaction or interaction with your spouse or just a really, but a fun vacation. It's just so easy to be grateful for those things, but we lose the gratitude in everything. So I just started to write it out like for me to be and grateful about every little thing I was like: I'm grateful for my bed. I'm grateful for my shoes. I'm grateful that I have clean underwear. I'm grateful that I have running hot water and a fridge that keeps my food cold, and I'm grateful for a stove and I'm grateful for my flooring. Some people don't have flooring in their homes or it's falling apart. I'm grateful for my couch. I'm grateful to have a hair dryer and toothpaste and a car.I let my mind like wonder and then it was every single little detailed aspect about the next - about my car like I'm grateful that I can afford gas and have insurance and for a radio and for a heater in my car and that my windshield isn't cracked and then I'm grateful for the airbag in the rearview mirrors and that I have automatic rolldown windows. I am grateful I don't drive a stickshift. I Just let there be enjoyment around every single possible detail that I could think of to be grateful for and so I really want to challenge you guys this week to how yes in every area of your life. But how can you be grateful for every single aspect of money.

What if the next time you sit down to pay bills it is instead of a closed stuck mindset of, “Oh my gosh I hate paying bills! The IRS is stealing my money! I can't believe how much the gas was this month!”, what if instead you’reI so grateful that I get to pay this bill I am so grateful that I had heat. During the one week of freeze in Arkansas. That's why my heating bill is higher I am so grateful for the the muscles in my hand move so I can grip this pen and write this check I am so grateful. That I have stamps sitting in my desk I don't have to go scrounge up pennies to be able to even put my bill in the mail just that attitude of gratitude around money and watch that openness that growth stance what that will do to help you be open. And the money do to increase and grow in your life and so I got a little activity for you guys because again on this theme of how you view money is how you view all other areas of your life I want you to be clear with yourself on how you view money. So make a list of 1 through 25 do this right now 1 through 25 1 through 3 or 5 six seven all the way through 25 and I want you to make a list of reasons why money is good. Why money is fun. Why money is enjoyable! Why money is a blessing to you and a blessing to others! Literally write write a list of 25 reasons to give your brain clarity. Give your brain expansiveness. Give your brain creativity. Give your brain areas of growth and gratitude to see all the reasons. That money is good and money is purposeful and money can be used for great things that and how view view this from a place of openness and enjoyment and have fun with it like stopping your rigidness and all my money and all don't only list all the ways that money. Feeds the poor yes money feeds the poor absolutely money also pays for vacation and there's any money can buy you a poll can buy me a boat buy me a truck to pull it. Okay there's a really redneck song that talks about how money can't. How it the house. What's it called money can't the money and this says money can't buy you everything but it can buy you a boat. It can buy you a truck to pull it. It was just saying like the fun things that it cant provide stop being so rigid and stop thinking money is so bad and something. Such an awful person for having money or wanting money or doing things with money money again is neutral. It doesn't mean anything and money has no ceiling. We've learning these these are these are all been foundational steps on the and and this journey with money these past 4 episodes if money doesn't mean anything and there's literally no limit to the amount of possible income that you can earn! Have fun because you know what you're going to do more of something that you enjoy something that is fun something that brings a fun result in your life. Discipline Equals Freedom The hard work that you do the the Mindset intentionality, the active ways you fight against the enemy. Those are all you know - they’re work. But where who said work was a bad thing? It can provide you a lot of freedoms and a lot of fun and so in this episode I Just want to. To remind you and encourage you to have this attitude of gratitude this attitude of openness to notice the areas of your life where you may be closed off Maybe that's around money but also notice when you're like getting really possessive or really jealous about maybe a friendship. Or you're getting really uncomfortable about how somebody acted or how you don't like how you're not showing up to exercise all of these things are related all of these things are related how you view money is how you view everything else in your life and so maybe you can start with. Maybe. You know the uncomfortableness or the feelings that come up around money will help open you up to other areas of your life. But I Also want you to notice the other areas of your life that think that you think have nothing to do with money. Also also are related. Your relationship with money and everything in life is related and everything goes back to your thoughts an it. That's why it is so incredibly powerful for us to be noticesers of how we view money, because I want you to make more money. You want you to make more money. You creating more peace in your life means getting a hold on your thoughts. A blessing I'm just going to speak scripture over you me and my friend Michelle Stuchill and some other people were thinking about just what is the way that we can bless our business, bless our organization, bless our team. How can we speak the literal word of God when you don't know what to pray? You can just speak. The word of God, there is so much power in it. So I just took verses from Psalm 67 and Psalm 90 and put it together in a blessing for our business, and may I speak this blessing over your business. We'll put this in the show notes may you speak this blessing over you and over your business. May you focus on the truth may you focus on the word of God may you cling ah to the hope against all hope Abraham and hope believed against all hope Jessica in hope believed may fill in that blank with your name your future with your business with your income. You're going to do with it having prosperity with. Purpose. So here we go may God be gracious to us and bless us so that your ways may be known on earth your salvation among the nation may all the pupils praise you God oh Lord our God let your favor rest upon us come work with us and then our work will endure. You will give us success in all we do. I'm going to read it again straight from scripture Psalm 67 and Psalms 90 may God be gracious to us and bless us so that your ways may be known on earth you know so your salvation among the nation may all the people praise you God. Ah, Lord our God let your favor rest upon us come work with us and then our work will endure. You will give us success in all, we do Amen and Amen apart from you can do nothing. This is a partnership and what episode was it I think it's episode 81 ish around 81 talk about the good news. how how to share the gospel with people. This is so much bigger than you the purpose of you making more money is not just for you. It's ok that you like in the book or how having invade your finances talks about when things flow through a water hose you're going to get wet too. But the whole purpose of you having more income making more income growing your influence. So the blessing can flow through you. You will be blessed because of it. But it's to flow through you to bless other people and once you grasp that I mean it just very simply is the poorest way to help the poor is to be poor make. More money I'm so grateful that you are here I'm so grateful that you're partnering with me and others in this mission this prosperity with purpose to create more peace so you can make more money and because of your list of 25 all the reasons why money is good

Hello welcome back to the prosperity with purpose podcast with Jessica Hefley we are on our Money Mindship Money set series talking about extreme ownership. The ship was in there somewhere ok money ownership is what we are talking about if you just jumped in on the series. Make sure you go back and listen to episode 1 and 2 in this series where we really talk about neutrality of money and then we really talk about our thoughts and engaging with their story of why we are in the place we are right now with our money. Now I want to teach you about extreme ownership when it comes to money. Okay I I kind of stand on a pillar foundation. I think some there's important. 3 kind of leaders. Leaders steer a ship, leaders are problem solvers ,and leaders take extreme ownership. Let me say those again leaders steer the ship. They can change the the direction they can change the trajectory for their team for their business for their own lives. They can steer the ship. Okay, you can steer the ship you can steer the ship in a different direction for your own life ,for your own team for your business. Leaders also are problem solvers. Yes, that's right. They have the ability to solve problems. They have the ability to not wait until somebody else takes care, fixes it or does this, or they take extreme ownership in the way but they are problem solvers and leaders take extreme ownership. Okay, so now we're going to equate that with money. Okay I've got three ways for you for money ownership.

Number 1, 2 and 3 -

Number 1- I am responsible and accountable for where I am right now with my money situation. We'll unpack that just second.

Number 2 - I am the creator of my relationship with money.

Number 3 - I create my financial future.

All of these are I statements I want you to know like because first of all apart from me, you can do nothing let me preface this every part of these are in partnership with God. so I'm not saying go be your own god you can create, you can do whatever you want. How I teach foundationally in everything, so all of these are in partnership with God, but I want to empower you that there are things that you can do to have a completely different creature.

So let's unpack number one. Well first of all, there are so no money problems just thought problems. Let me say it again.

What if there are no money problems. They are just thought problems!

So sorry, Biggie biggie biggie Mo Money does not equal Mo Problems. Okay, there are no money problems just thought problems. Meaning the way that you think about your situation.

So number 1: I am responsible and accountable for where I am now.

This will free you. This will take a huge weight off of your shoulders if you live this out taking responsibility taking ownership. Taking accountability for where you are right now, where are you in your financial situation right now. Are you in a lot of debt and hiding it? Do you have no idea what you're doing and want to make sure nobody else knows about that. Do you have a lot of shame around past decisions that you have had about money and are you blaming somebody else for your current situation? Did an accident happen and you lost a lot of money and you didn't really don't believe that it was that it is is your fault? Whatever it is, we have to come to a place that we it's always you have to start on a place of honesty. To stop like not admitting or not coming to terms with what reality is what your true money situation is right now we can. We can keep hustling, hustling and has and us and because we're trying to but figure out how to like we have to make the money or we're gonna have to get another job or we have to do this so the collectors are going to come out of us. Or you and maybe I should say lead. Let's come to grips with where you are. There's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This is not for you to spiral into shame or come in agreement that you are a mistake, or you are a problem. Or you can't figure this out or something is foundationally wrong with you? No, it's just a beautiful place of accepting what is incredibly important so take a moment right now. What is your true and honest financial situation? What is it? Do you have a ton of credit card debt?

You have no plan for saving or investing in the future and what is where are you right? Now you can't hide it. You can't outrun it. You can't keep pretending that this is not your reality. This is your reality. It was always supposed to be this way because it is right. Come to grips with what is if you want to accelerate your view of money your mindset of money your results with money your future with money. You have to come to grips in reality with what “is”. Take some time with that. Journal with that. Get that all out. You may not like where you are. You may love where you are, but you have to know where you are you have to know your red dot. You have to know on the map of life on this journey of where you're trying to get to you have to know where you are starting and there is such freedom such beauty such authority with just even. Acknowledging what is so number one I am responsible and accountable for where I am now. Okay, all of this all of this thing that I'm talking about today is meant to empower you to have a different future. So this is empowering. It actually IS empowering. To accept what is, because it is reality. It is something that you cannot. You cannot change the past you cannot change but happened 5 minutes ago but you have the ability to have a different future when you are honest with where you are now. Also word for every year of your life but on your health journey, your weight loss journey, your marriage your parenting your leader like whatever this is where you are today. We can work with that. We can't work with you pretending that. It's not reality. We can't work with you living in La La Land not taking ownership but we can work with today. Okay. We can move forward from that, so number 1 take responsibility and accountability for where you are now no shame. No condemnation. It is so incredibly powerful to you to accept what is. And have hope and belief that the future can be different. Number two: I am the creator of my relationship with money. I love that I keep using the word create. It's a word that I use so often because it helps you not take a passive role in your life. It helps you create things in your life. Create things that are different. Create a different future. It is such an empowering word to me. We need to say it more. You are the creator of your life again. That's not you playing God. In partnership with the Lord, you can create something you were made to create. This is why people who don't have jobs -this what happened with my husband. My Plexus was amazing. It still is amazing. It provided way more than any income than he was ever making outside of the home, and so he got to be home for a couple years and that was great. That was a beautiful season for us and he was home when our children were little but he was also made to create. Made to create with his hands - creativity is his gift and like other men, he was made to create. There's something really, really empowering in that. You were made to create. You were made made to create in your business. What you sell. What team culture you're creating. What you are offering to the world. How you are adding value like those are all ways that you create, and it is incredibly empowering. You are the creator of your relationship with money. In the past 2 episodes we've really gotten more clarity and more a-ha. More curiosity about your story around money because you are the creator of your relationship with money, and how you view money equals your results with money. You can change the results that you have with money when you change your relationship with money. How you think about it. How you've processed it. How you have made certain things lower down the emotions and came to a place of neutrality, and how you then want to powerfully decide how you're going to relate with money, what you are making money mean, (and a side note with that is everybody gets to choose what they believe). So if you're growing in this area and you are changing what you believe money means and you feel empowered and you have a purpose behind why you want to make more money and what you're going to do with it and how you're going to change the world and how you're going to affect culture people get to choose what they believe. Other people may disagree with you other people may still judge you but that doesn't make it true their thoughts their judgments their views of you doesn't make it true and also their views of themselves doesn't necessarily make it true. So if they're still believing they're better than you because they make more money than you or if they're still believing. They're not as good as you because they're not making as much money as you that doesn't make it true There's a beautiful part of like surrendering that people get to choose whatever they want to make things mean. But so do you you get to choose. What you make things mean and I'm going to choose an empowering thought wealthy people think differently people that go to the next level in life think differently you as a high level leader achiever think differently than others and so I'm constantly having to check in with my own thoughts to elevate my thoughts last week we did the money exercise where you had to double your income. How would someone who makes that income think how would they show up? You know if your dream income was million dollars then double to 2,000,000. You may not be that person yet. But what is 1 step in the way that someone who makes even $10000 more than you? How do they show up differently than you do now? What an empowering way to think about it not of like oh my gosh I'm so never going to be there I'm not like her you know like how I'm clinging to hope i'mlinging into my future. So how can I show up like that. Maybe I put makeup on 2 times this week instead of 1. Maybe I go on a walk. Maybe I do some exercise. Maybe actually do the creation cycle that I learned about in Jessica’s “How to get off the Hot Mess Express” course. Maybe actually incorporat it like that because someone who’s living from their identity and their purpose shows up differently. They think differently. They think empowering thoughts. This is an active step if you look at all these ways in the Bible of our faith is active. The putting on the Armor of God is active. They are forward movement. They are on the offense. This is not like a just certain arrows case or else or all whatever happens happens. No, in partnership the Lord we still can live on the off like it is forward. It is intentional and there is that battlefield on our minds and if we do not take offense if we do not play on the offense moving forward then everything that just comes towards us will destroy us. This is an empowering way to live. An empowering way to think so number 2 was I am the creator of my relationship with money. That means I get to create something different. Number 3 I create my financial future. I create in partnership with the Lord I create, we create our financial future. That means you play a part in it. That means it can be different than it was in the past. So years and years ago I used to always hear this this saying and you've probably heard this before that, you know that most millionaires if they were to lose everything within 2 to 3 years they would be a millionaire again, and I used to think, I do not understand that at all because that sounds so impossible to become a millionaire and if they were to lose it. Oh my gosh! So it would be so much work to do it all over again. No, it's not because abundance isn't like this place you arrive to it is abundance is a place that you can tap into it's something you tune into it's a way of living. It's a way of being It's a way of thinking, and it's different than the rest of the world. So it does come easier because they have done the mindset work. They have done the actionable steps. They have elevated their thoughts. They believe that they are a creator of their relationship with money they believe that they are the creator of their financial future. They're not sitting around being passive waiting to win the lottery and they do do it again and you can do it again. And I would do it again and it doesn't have to be hard who so there are no money problems just thought problems isn't that so interesting. So let's take this back to just a couple couple really tangible examples. Okay, so back to number 1 - I am responsible and accountable for where I am now in my money right? Correct. Okay so what are your current thoughts and what are they playing out for you? I am bad with money. I am bad with money when you think I am bad with money. What does that create for you in your life when you think I am bad with money? That means you probably hide or ignore looking at your money and pretend like you don't have a problem, so you charge everything on a credit card. I don't know. How does it show it for you when you say I am bad with money? What is empowering about that? What does that create for you? What are the actions that you take when you come in agreement and think the thought, “I am bad with money”? Okay, what if you flipped that to “I'm capable of learning more about money and my future with money is going to be different than my past”. How does that change in your body? How does that change your actions if your thought is capable of learning more about money? It feels a little bit lighter doesn't it ? It feels a little bit more empowering because you are capable to learn something new. You are capable to change your relationship with money. You are capable to change your financial future now, but I'm bad with money just lets you go eat sandwich and keep being bad with money! Okay. Another really tangible example”I'll never get out of debt”. I coach a lot of people that have a lot of shame around past decisions and they're not coming to ownership with it. Not the number one. They're not coming to the very first step of accepting what is and so because of that they just keep running from it. They just keep running. They don't like the feeling of shame, so they don't want to feel it so they just keep doing other things so they never have to feel that they never have to acknowledge it and it never changes. So what is a instead of I'll never get out of debt. What's a different empowering thought a different empowering view that you could have about it? How about “I believe I can get out of debt. I believe my future can look different than my past”. I am better with money today than I was yesterday. Give yourself breadcrumbs. You don't have to go from I will never get out of debt too. I will be debtfree and next Saturday. You know, like but give yourself this bridge point take take ownership of what your thoughts are take ownership of what they've been creating for you take ownership that if you don't have the results that you want with money with your relationship with money in your career with your income level take ownership but take. Tory of what those thoughts even are that are creating where you are in the first place another really disempowering thought is if only blank would do this then I could have more money if only my company would do this if only my company would provide this if only my team would do this if only my husband like. That is so disappowering. But you make perfect sense if that is your thought if you keep waiting until somebody else does the specific thing that you think is going to be the money shot that you think is going to be the key to unlock everything else. Let me break it to you I'll break a tea if anybody else got to break a tea I'll be honest with you, you're gonna be holding out forever, and that's not an active way for you to create. If we go back to the leadership, leadership is about steering the ship. Leaders are problem solvers and leaders take extreme ownership. Nobody else is responsible for your success or unsuccess. You’re an active participant. You are the creator of your relationship with money you are the creator of your financial future and you're the creator. Um, you're responsible and accountable for where you are now because it doesn't have to be where. You are in the future. A tangible thing that me that we're currently doing is this year I hired someone from a biblical from a biblical spiritual perspective who also is a Cfo Chief Financial officer. I could spiral in embarrassment and shame around this or I could live with my own advice and take responsibility and ownership for where we are now is that we haven't been the most organized with money. It's not I'm a nerd I don't want to spend. My husband is a free spirit and he loves this. But it's just it's been in an evolution is within our marriage money right? Because it brings up lots of things and both of us. But where I came to reality is I can go another year without being really organized in this area and having more purposeful plan in our financial area or I could do something about it. So I did something about it and I'm paying a pretty penny but I. Because I want to have a different future. So I'm going to stop taking a passive role and just being like oh the money comes in and the money comes out I want to take and I want to be an active participant. I want to acknowledge that I don't like where we are, right? I just I feel like it could be in a much better place. It could be a much purposeful place I feel like we could be better stewards with our money and since it's not a strong suit for me or my husband I hired that you get to hire areas or people are zones of in their zone of genius that's not yours and so I am. Excellent with mindset I'm excellent with the growth aspect of it. You know I wasn't the best with some of the details and so I hired somebody to look at it I hired somebody to import their wisdom their knowledge their viewpoint I hired somebody to ask me questions to um, help me help us have. A game plan to help us have the future that we want so not just stop thinking about it or dreaming about it but I did something about it I became an active participant I became a creator in my future and that's at all levels. Every single level. You are at you get to explore and figure out. Okay I don't have the results I want in this area. What can I do about it. How can I stop complaining about it or whining about it or wishing that it was different and how can I be an active participant in having a different result so extreme. Ownership with your money I hope that you find I know that you I know that you have I know that you have found this episode empowering on steps that you can take on that you being an active participant in your future relationship with money and your future results with money. So go back listen to episode one and two. Listen to this again and we're going to do one more and to really kind of I could talk about this forever and ever and ever honestly. But you want to know my best resource I've ever had on money is from a Biblical perspective and the book “How Heaven invade your finances” by James Baker get it, read it. Read it again in the beginning. I have never highlighted a book more in my entire life. I have never taken to heart. So it is a different way to view money ,and it if you allow it to if you want to be a creator active participant it will allow for everything to change about you and your family financially. There you go you have fun noticing your empowering or disempowering thoughts about money this week notice be a noticer of your thoughts. Do not sit back an active way to change your life is to notice what your thoughts are and notice what they are creating for you. So. Elevate your thoughts elevate your thoughts around money wealthy people think differently people at the next level think differently people who who double their yearly income think differently show up differently. You are a creator for your present and for your future.

Welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose podcast I'm Jessica Hefley, and we are having a blast in the Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship where we are breaking down these things even further and you get a coach to personally help you work through, ask the questions, help you have this breakthrough even deeper to the next level. We're gonna give you lots to think about today - lots to chew on lots to help you have that freedom but in that mentorship is while you're at www.jessicahefley.com/grow to get signed up. We're starting with an exercise today. Okay so get your pens out. Even if you're driving I need you, you just have to write one number, right now. What I want you to write? We're going to unpack last week's episode. But first of all I want you to write down what is your dream annual income in your business - your dream income? You know you're not going have to tell me this you don't have to tell anybody this you may be scared or embarrassed or whatever. But what is your biggest possible thing that you can dream of as being your yearly income in your business write it down. Don't not write it down - literally write it down! Pull over on the side of the road, if you're driving, and if you're in the middle of making dinner get out that scratch piece of paper and pencil write it on a napkin. I don't care but physically write it down and as you are doing that I'm go unpack last week's episode. Okay, so last week if you're just jumping in we're on a 3 to 4 part series. Not sure how long we're gonna do it.

On Money Mindset and last week we really explored this concept of neutrality around money. We often have such heightened emotions about what we believe about it about what we believe about ourselves about what we believe about other people based on how the amount of income that they have or don't have or what they want or don't want or what they like or don't like there's just a lot of judgment and which we're going to go a little bit of story work that really goes back to our background.

Because most people don't even know that they have a money mindset issue. For example, I just put on my Instagram that I was going to be recording some podcast episodes letting people give me their opinion on their inside on what area they'd like me to talk about to help them have breakthrough and I realized like me saying money mindset, money mindset is pinched my nose I don't know where I did that. Okay, so me saying that most people don't even realize they have a money issue. They feel so valid in their feelings or in their stance or they've never engaged with their past story of why they believe the way they do or why they act the way they do so they're just coasting through life and staying about the same but we and about staying about the same on this episode we are about breaking through going to the next level next level of healing wholeness and wealth. So we're going to get really curious. Make sure you've written down that number, haven't forgot about it. We're going to come back to in a minute your dream income. Okay, but so for me, what started so much of my study on abundance, working through my money mindset, finding growth around all of these things. So I can't say this enough and I guess I could just keep saying it, but I want to help you have an experience with it in that thoughts are everything the way that you think will generate more money, or more scarcity in your life. I can tell you strategy all day long. I can tell you the exact things to do to grow your business, but every single person's dynamic is different. Their personality, their influence, their reach, their number of followers on social media, how they experience and fear, growth, embarrassment, perfectionism all of those things.

That is why it's so important to go to the foundation, because the way you think will generate more money or more scarcity in your life, and you can 100% change your relationship with money which means that you can change the amount of money in your life.

Next week are really going to talk about ownership. To unpack some more of last week to really the gist of last week when I was talking about Louis Vuitton and how it's not my thing, and I was thinking this makes me little bit uncomfortable. The truth I don't know if I ever got the hit the nail on the head but the truth of the matter is my uncomfortableness was coming from my own judgments, and so I had to actually repent of that I was judging people who wanted to have a Louis Vuitton and because I was thinking that my way is better I was higher or nobler or better because I didn't things things like that. It didn't matter to me. I didn't see the importance of such petty things. It literally was from a place of judgment for a place of comparison and so we've really, and anything in life, is in leadership. We really have to come to a place of humility of that's how that's the truth of my story I don't like it. I didn't even like to tell you guys. I think that's why I never flat out said it last week but there is something about the repentance acts to us the humility aspect of there's something about. Spirit of comparison that we can cast off because when we are comparing ourselves to other people that means we are either thinking that we're better than them or we're thinking we're worse than them and so either comparison is always leaving somebody in this hierarchy of better or worse which gets away from the neutrality that we're theme of we're trying to get back to around money. Taking the emotions out it and be able to look through it look at it objectively and um with curiosity. So anyways, some things that really helped me start to discover is when I because gonna most people do not do not know their money story but what will help you uncover it is why. You get to notice why you really want things you want in life when it comes to money there's certain things in your life that you're going to say “I want that!”, “I want that"!”, like “I desperately want that!”, “That is something that is important to me, I want that!” or you'll start to notice things in your life of that I want nothing to do with that I want nothing to do with that person. I want nothing to do with this object, I want nothing to do with this. Those are some some ways that you can start to notice. There's something in your story. That's always an invitation I call those invitations to bring before the Lord invitations for the Holy Spirit when you are noticing such strong feelings or noticing you can't stop thinking about a certain thing - what is this to unpack - so many years ago. What started all this is I was I was in a life coaching session with my first life coach that I had hired because my life was kind of feeling stagnant and stuck, and I thought it I thought my company spoiled. I thought it was my husband's fault. I thought it was my friends' fault. I thought it was everybody else I was ready to change and so much this it just broke for you a lot of things. Anyways, one of the stories I was talking about with my life coach is I said something like I don't want my kids to be spoiled and he was said,

“What do you mean?” tell me more about that and help me understand what you mean when you said that and I was like “Yeah, we'll probably be able to afford to buy our children a car or pay for their college which both were things that you know my parents could not afford and or they chose not to spend. There's a whole. I don't like to say can't afford because there's a whole other thing around that and but anyways so he helped me discover. He was like “Well why would your children be spoiled if you had the means and you bought them a vehicle?”, and I was like “You know I just don't want them to be spoiled, and it helped me see the meaning I had attached to people who could when I was a child. People who could buy themselves, who bought their children cars. I viewed them as spoiled. I made the judgment. The agreement as a young child that if anybody or any parent bought their child a car that meant that they were spoiled little brats. That was so interesting, because here I was in a different dynamic as an adult desperately wanting my children to not be spoiled little brats and the only thing that I could equate to spoil little brats is if their parents bought them a car. That meant they were sport little brats, and so I got to choose If that's still the story I wanted to believe. I get to decide if that's how I want to move for it or if they I had choices or if spoiled little brats could mean something else besides someone and he said “Well, what makes someone not spoiled?”, and we got to the root of it and is just being really, really grateful. Not a sense of entitlement, but a sense of gratitude and so we got back to you know then we when we when we know we want to do better with our kids or somebody else or even with our business. This is so fascinating when I coach a lot of people but they're like okay well tell me exactly what to do to make my children grateful children like tell me the exact. Step. So The thing the actionable things that I have to do in order to fix this when it was like you just model it you first get to experience more gratitude in your life and you get to model that to your children and then they're not spoil little breads. It was just there interesting because it's in every especially when you have small children every area that you have breakthrough in it thens it's like literally breaking generational curses. It's allowing. It's giving you the the agency and authority of your children to not to have to go through that experience like this is biblical like second and third generation. You can break off generational curses even like in your health like or people say alcoholism just runs in my family It's just and I'm like no what ran in your family was possibly depression or unable to process thoughts or something else on a much deeper level and when you. Find freedom in that that breaks them free from that curse and it's really fascinating topic to study. But anyways so what are some of the reasons I want you to unpack some of your story. What are some of the things that. You're noticing that's coming up that's weird for you around money. So another example I've done a lot of money mindset work but just last week on the episode I realized that the Louis Vitton thing was really bothering me and so that I viewed as an invitation for something bring to before the lord an invitation for something to explore within me. Wasn't somebody else's problem or somebody else making me feel this way. It was me and I got to then explore my story. My judgments my decisions my agreements that I had made with that brand or those people who liked that brand or whatever and so you get to do the same you get to do that. Another couple ones of mine were I got to the root of of about 3 of them. So I'd really highly encourage you to kind of get to the root of 3 of them. Here's the lies that I didn't even know as believing, wealthy people are spoiled and entitled number 2 hard work. With your hands builds character and number 3 “wealthy people are taking money away from poor people”, these are fascinating and then these is just my story and because I was finding I grew up lower middle class and so when I started to work in network marketing and make a 7 figure yearly income I felt I was betraying something like to my core, to my roots. It felt wrong. I had to really, really, really unpack that and that may be what's keeping you from getting to the next level on your income because you feel like you are literally betraying your roots. Betraying where you grew up betraying. You came from betraying your blood and this is an opportunity for you to go to the next level because you know what as simply as I can put it the poorest way to help the poor is to be poor. So the best way that you can help people who need. Help or help um the situation that you came from or the situation that you can currently in is make more money which is a huge part of this podcast to help you create more peace in order to make more money and what is holding you back from making more money is a story that you have told yourself about what you've made money mean or about people who have money mean. It is something in the meaning, something in the thoughts and because you can 100% change your relationship with money which in turn will change your amount of money if you don't like the results you have with money you've got to stop beating yourself up, and get curious about what are your thoughts are that created what you currently have. The current amount of money that you have is a result of years and years of thinking feeling and acting around your money story. So we're going to go back at the beginning of this podcast. Oh wait, let me explain this a little bit more my 3, so “wealthy people are spoiled and entitled” and so we kind of talked about that this spoil and entitledness for that camera when I was talking about buying a car for my children. Number 2 “Hard work with your hands builds character”. And so my dad he was such a phenomenal man. He worked in a glass factory his entire life. He worked swingshift. They wore steel-toed boots, safety goggles. He worked hard. He could fix anything. He could build anything. I grew up associating that a good man, a good person worked hard with their hands. They sweated when they had to bring in the example before me and my parents weren't doing this on purpose. This was just the example before me how my father provided for our family was sweat and tears. He was coming home and taking a shower because you worked hard. You were sweaty. You were dirty and so when I and my profession was literally laying by my pool working from my Iphone and making 7 figures like it was like but again that feeling almost of betrayal like, “Wait! No, like you have to work hard and have the sweat of your brow” in like that I was thinking that was the only option to be a person of character like because I also that was my story I've worked since I was 13. I paid for almost all of my college. I've always had a job I worked. And I almost again that spirit of comparison ,I almost had I had this like hierarchy about me because I had to work through college my spoiler my spoiled friends who their parents paid for everything didn't have to work. You know so I viewed myself as better than others because I worked hard. And so it was like this identity crisis when money was coming in easy or money was coming in without the so like so literal sweat of my brow. There was other areas that I had to work through and grow in and um, but the beauty of it is my dad cannot do something successful on a phone and I cannot do something successful. Building or working with my hands like those are in our zone of geniuses. There's nothing right or wrong about the way I make money or the way my dad make money those were that was what we knew and what so I'm saying I'm taking the judgment away from it and so I got to explore, got to redefine what it meant to make money from my iphone while sitting on my couch and that's freaking amazing. It doesn't mean I was doing something wrong or doesn't mean I don't have high character. Um I learned a different way to do it. There's no judgment around it and the number 3 is wealthy people take money away from poor people. This was so Fascinating. I don't think this at all now. But I I believed this to my core I believe that me making more money was taking more somehow this weird distorted view of, I did really well in my business, that meant other people in my business couldn't do well or I was taking money or I should feel bad that they weren't making a lot of money and I was making a lot of money like what? No like there's different levels of me putting myself out there. Me learning, me growing, me investing in coaching, me reading personal development books there's lots of factors. It's not like a black and white thing and I am not doing anything wrong that was but again, that's such a trigger for me like am I doing something wrong that may not be your particular trigger. You get to explore. And get curious about what your triggers are but you have to understand so many of you don't don't even know that you have come in agreement with your old story. You feel like it is such a betrayal to make more money than than your husband or make more money than your dad or make more money than this person or it feels so you get what I am wanting to say, begging you, but I I don't have that control over you. It's all an individual choice but I'm inviting you to explore where you can find freedom in this, because making more money changes the world for better. I believe with all this is why I do what I do because more money needs to be in the hand of good people and you got you're the good people listening to this podcast because you do good things with your money. We're going to talk about that way more in another episode anyways. Okay. Your dream income. So at the beginning of the episode I had you write down. What is your like stretch I'm not don't don't make this comfortable y'all like what is the biggest dream that you have in your current job or not even have be like just you're a yearly income like oh that would be such a dream that would be. If I could do it but that's like my dream. Okay, so you've written that number down correct right? Great now, get your pen back out I'm just going to have you do 1 more thing. I want you to look at that number and I want you to scratch it out and double it and write the double number next to it. Yes I want you to take that number that was so scary and so big and may have appeared to be so out of reach ,and I want you to scratch it out and I want you to double it!

Woo what's coming up for you right now? ‘Your first goal was already a stretch and now double it. Yes, double it! You will not make more money than what you believe is possible for you. It's time to start allowing the expansiveness of possibility. It's like blaring at me I can barely see my notes but that's okay because we're just going by the seat of our pants I think the holy spirit works that way. Okay, so you're being open. The possibility of more income is a great first step so many of us are close minded. This is the amount of money that we have made for the last five years and it's going down a little bit each year or. I get a 1 % raise each year and that's what I'm going do until I take those blinders off look at that number for a moment that double number you get to then, what are you? How does that make you feel inside? We're going to have the gamut like I I wish I could like have a what one conversation with you right now like for some of you. You're like “Heck yeah, let's go game on this is fun!” This is exciting some of you are thinking, “Oh my word Jessica is crazy. That number is impossible!” Okay, so let's take away the judgment on whatever your reaction is to doubling that number and just look at it and just with a mustard seed of possibility look at that number. What is the saying? “Your body won't go where your mind has never been.” It's a great saying. I have my concealed carry license so I can carry a firearm. In the class it's a really great guy in order to do that in the state of Arkansas anyways, you have to go through this class where it's very much about situational awareness learning about the gun getting very familiar with it. You have to practice you have to unload it load it. You have to they they test you you have a written test and you have to go out to the range and actually use your firearm. That's a great program I think it's very smart very wise but 1 of the things they teach you in situational awareness is you have to think about a situation before it happens. They have you go through scenarios that involve a gun so you are thinking about them before they would ever actually happen to you in your real in your real life. So smart. And I apply this so much to when I teach people about money mindset because your body won't go where your mind has never been so this double number is opening you up to a place that your body has never been before but you are going to start thinking about it. You are going to start believing it. You are going to go start being. Open to the possibility of it. Okay, you also get to be honest so much about growth of what I teach is about being honest. So if you're not like gung ho ya. Let's go if you're having a little bit of a freak out moment or some fear or some doubt or even some embarrassment or some like feelings of that number? Yeah well that sounds great, but how the heck am I ever going to do that, or I'm going to have to hire some people to get to that number and that feels horrible right now like whatever it is I am never encouraging you to to doubt your reality but I'm encouraging you to be honest with it journal about it. Write it down and put all those fears out on the paper. But I'm also asking you to cling to an ounce of hope, to cling to the openness of possibility because there literally is no ceiling on the amount of money you can make. You may be in a 9 to 5 job right now and you maybe think no because there is always possibilities on the side additional things I believe in supernatural and. Relationships connections downloads ideas things that come when you are partnering with hope and faith and possibility instead of when you're hoping with doubt fear scarcity death because death dead things don't grow right. Dead things shrivel dead things get smaller dead things. Don't get bigger and so I want to partner with life in life more abundantly and there and life that is growing, life that is an expansive life. One of my favorite Bible verses and from Romans for it talks about Abraham and it says “Against all hope Abraham in hope believed and the promise was given to him.” so to this, I vcling. Do you guys have scriptures that you cling to? It is the living word of God to you and that is one of mine against all hope Abraham in hope believed that is so I could unpack I could do a whole episode on that like unpacking when everybody else says no when the world says another way when and it doesn't in the natural makes sense. Abraham against all hope Abraham and hope believed. Maybe you don't have a cheering inner circle. Maybe you currently don't have a lot of people that believe in you your business your ideas your possibilities and your potential in this world but against all hope. Sarah, Amanda, Melissa whatever your name is against all hope Jessica believed in against all hope Jessica in hope believed that is powerful so your assignment this week is to look. At that doubly number look at it look at it look at it think about it. Be prayerful to it. You could do so be be have fun with it, let's just be.

It may seem impossible or it may seem hard or it may seem whatever right now, but let's let's go ahead and plan it out your body won't go or your mind has already been so here's a fun thing. I don't know what number you wrote down, go ahead and make a plan of what you will do with that money once you make that much make a plan. How much are you going to give. Out of that what percentage are you going to give where you're going to pay down debt where are you're going to invest in more streams of income where are you going to buy um a lake house, where are you going to do something fun for your children, where are you going to ,how much are you going to spend on help making that dream happen? And all it like make a plan your body won't go or your mind has been why not let yourself dream. Let yourself go there. Let yourself be open to the possibility cling to hope. Last week we really built on this concept of neutrality around money lowering the emotions around money this week we got really curious about maybe what of our stories or our agreements are hangups what we have about money about amounts of money. All of those things. Whatever your story is but. Then also clinging to the hope and a possibility of an income that is so much larger than it is right now. So have fun, clinging to hope come back next week and we're really going talk about ownership around money because I want to empower you that the ability to change your amount of money the ability to change your life and empower you with the ownership that you actually have around that so many feel so many people feel like that's out of their control. There is specific ownership things and thoughts that you can have around that that will change your results with money I'm so proud for y'all for being here. This is big! This is a big deal to help you create more peace in order to make more money. We'll see you next week!

Hello welcome back to the prosperity with purpose podcasts I'm Jessica Heffley and we're starting a money series. Excited and 1 of my favorite topics 1 of the hottest topics. 1 of the most popular topics talk about is money and being a christian and making more of it and talking about all the things that people shy away from but why did they shy away from them. What made it weird who taught them. Ah, talking about money was taboo or wrong or anything all these okay anyways, we're going to start out of the series I want to lay a foundation for you to start thinking about money as neutral money is not good. Money is not. Bad I want you to start noticing that money is neutral. You can think about it. However, you choose it's literally neutral. You think of a I don't have 1 in front of me like a brick like if like a big big like a rock and pretend to have a rock. No, but. Aids here for you guys watching video on Youtube but um, think you have it pretend I have a rock in my hand. A rock is neutral. It's not morally good. It's not morally bad. You can take the rock or this brick that I have in my imaginary brick I have in my hand and you can throw it through someone's window and rob their house and break into their house. You can do that with a brick, or you can take that brick and that can build the foundation of a church or a home or a homeless shelter. You can build something good with that brick. The brick itself is neutral. What you choose to do with it makes it what you can. You can rob somebody or bash somebody's window or you can build the foundation of something to understand, but the rock itself is neutral. So I want us to start thinking about money as neutral, neither good neither bad.

What if we started to take the judgment away around money?

Oh that person bought that car that means nothing oh that person drives that car. Still. Means nothing oh that person lives in a double-wide interesting. Oh that person lives in a mansion interesting. What if it's neutral what if we do not attach a meaning to money you get to choose whatever you want to make it mean. Okay, you you can make a certain amount of money mean whatever you want, for example, $200 could be an incredibly life changing amount for somebody for somebody else $200 who's in like major huge trouble or debt. To them $200000 may not be enough. The amount of money doesn't mean anything. You are the one who gets to choose what you make a certain amount mean, what you make money mean! What are you making a certain number mean? You get to ask yourself - this is important. We're going to lay on this and in the weeks to come but I want you to start noticing how much judgment you currently have around money. Around people who have money. Around people who don't have money. What you are making yourself mean, or your success or your worth because of the amount of money you currently have or the amount of money you currently make? I just want you to notice - I just want you to be a noticer of your thoughts - this is foundational in everything - mindset work. Everything for what I teach in leadership and success. Is you have to start noticing what you are even making things mean. Okay, so I wanted to start out with this because well I always love my own life circumstances. What I'm dealing with what I'm going with what I'm like struggling with wrestling with and I like to bring those to you guys because that shows that well first of all I am normal I am a certified christian life coach but I also still struggle with some mindset stuff. So here's here's what happened recently so recently I was at a retrest - I work for a network marketing company Plexus, and I'm in the top of that company. They had the top 30 come and they did a special retreat to a mastermind retreat. They had Phil Jones come and he spoke to us. It was phenomenal and they did a special gift for us. I might tell you about we got training we got time with our CEO, our President our CFO all of the C-s suites- the chief training officers. The the people who comes out with our products and the marketing . We are partnering with them to bring about the future to work together to row in the same direction. It' a beautiful partnership. Anyways, it's this really special trip. We we went to the The Waldolf Astoria in California and Orange County to this really bougie fancy, nice restaurant. It was gorgeous. But y'all actually flooded in California it was like this noaic flood. They talked about where we were so excited to go to California in February to get sunshine from the drab duriiness we've currently been having in Arkansas and most of the country and we get there and it literally rains the entire time we are there. Pouring! We're on a hill right by the ocean at this resort but California is flooding! All the streets are! One of the worst floods! Anyways, we stayed inside but it still was amazing and wonderful.

Last year at this trip there is supposed to be like a special top 30 trip and so they're new at this. We're new at this. We get to offer suggestions. You know they get to run with it. The gift wasn't exactly like top notch. So this year that we were just like please have it be like something really special and anyway so we walk in the room and there are Louis Vuitton boxes where all of our seats are and there are these beautiful yellow boxes, yellow-orange whatever you call it boxes. You know the label. They've got the fancy Louis Vuitton ribbon around it, everyone is squealing, freaking out, getting pictures taken with it. It already upped the essence of the room and nobody even knew I was inside the box. Nobody had even opened the box yet. I feel so unique in this but we're going get to and just like and nobody had even looked inside but it just the fact that it was a Louis Vuitton box may you know.

Just was a completely different vibe different feeling different experience in last year, so anyways ended up being these beautiful scarves and super fancy stuff. All that stuff so great ,and I am going home and I'm still thinking about it. But I'm still thinking about it because I don't care about Louis Vuitton, but for some people it’s their dream. It was so luxurious. They felt so incredibly special. They've always wanted that and I just literally don't care. The meaning I have attached to Louis Vuitton is different from the meaning they have attached to Louis Vuitton, but I was I was still thinking about it. So if you're ever like still thinking about something and it's this is a surefire sign like if something is making you feel uncomfortable and to me that is always an invitation to explore deeper. There's always an invitation to get the journaling out to get the creation cycles out to use the tools I teach with my students to figure out what I have made something mean, right? And so I got to be real honest. First of all, you can' find healing in breakthrough. It's rare to find healing in breakthrough until you're completely honest with where you are, so I had to get honest on how I judged people who love Louis Vuitton just being honest, the truth isn’t always pretty.

Sometimes like I literally don't care like I did not grow up aspiring to get Louis Vuittons, and it doesn't mean anything to me. It doesn't mean that you're more special or you aren’t. I just don't care, and it's not something that excites me. It's not something that I guess the meaning I have attached to Louis Vuitton is almost unnecessary. But so I was like wait, am I ok with that I know most of the people loved it? I'm so glad they listened. It was a nice treat. A nice treasure. I'm not dissing the gift anyway, I just got really curious about why Louis Vuitton doesn't matter to me. I got to really thinking about it. iFor example I do own one Louis Vuitton never full I did not pay for that house I'm not kidding anything fancy that I own plexus has paid for or is from a shopping spree that I earned or a a contest that I had that they did and I it was It's like super fun I I don't know I just It's just not a core value of mine and that is okay. I have worked with lots of people on my team that they've thought the meaning they have attached to is if “oh if I get to the top of the company then I have to wear Louis Vuitton or I have to dress this certain way or have to act that certain way.”, and it's almost like they feel like they're betraying who they genuinely are. You get to choose. You don't ever have to own a Louis Vuitton. You can own 10 Louis Vuittons. You get to decide what you make that mean. But for me when I was still really wrestling with this. I had to come to grips and I was judging people who loved it . What was I making that mean like they were thinking that was some sort of status or some sort of important made them more important than somebody else or did to do but really no, it doesn't I don't know I like on I just don't like it and that's ok, it's ok for it not to be my thing. It's okay for it to be some other people's thing. Okay, the measure you use will be measured against you so when I was so worried about what other people would think when I'd be wearing this louis baton scarf or the one never full that I ownd because I got it from a Plexus shopping spree that I don't even carry, because I still was worried what people would think about me or think that they would think that's important to me or that's where I would spend all my money or to to when I literally only use it when I travel on Plexus trips because it's literally a never full bag. Have you ever seen how much you could fit to a never full bag? It is a lot. Okay, but all of this went back to what measure you use will be measured against you, and so when I was over there judging , what I was making it mean? What about people who enjoyed that brand or wanted that brand or sought that brand out that in turn the measure you use would be measured against you. I was so worried then about what other people would think about me when I carried that purse or wore that scarf or whatever.

I want you to think about a situation in your life. This may be super dumb and you may not relate to this at all I do believe there's going to be a lot of you that will relate to this but you may not but there is something I want you to get to notice. This is what we're doing this week noticing something in your life that you have judged around money. Maybe someone who has less than you or more than you or what have you made it mean because all of this comes down money has nothing to do with your worth? We don't work from a place to gain our work our worth. We don't work so we'll be worth something or the money! No, we are already worth it. Jesus died for us to make us worthy!

Nothing we do or don't do can make us any anymore any less worthy.

But when you operate out of a place of already knowing your worth You're not working for it. That's a completely beautiful different place of abundance, because you are working from a place of purpose. You are working from a place of, “I know who I am!” “I know who I've been called to serve!” “I know why I am showing up here on social media!” “I am so obsessed with helping the person who needs what I have to offer.” Because I know that that I am worth it I know it that they are worth it. That's also a beautiful thing that you get to do in leadership is you get to rise other people up who do not believe in themselves yet who do not think they are worth. You get to call call life forth in someone else. Anyways I just thought that was super interesting and I've gained a lot since I've wrestled with this or that. I no longer care. I don't care if you carry a Louis Vuitton or not. I'm not making it mean anything about you anymore. I'm not making it mean anything about me anymore. It's a preference good for you or not for you? It doesn't matter. But as long as I was holding onto like making that mean something bad about me or bad about something else. It was this like ick cycle of judgment , and I get to choose. I get to choose what I make something mean. You get to choose what you make money mean. So this week as we build upon as we go on to next week well first of all I want to hear what your stories like what have you some things that you've made mean something that wasn't and you're learning like if you are truly to look at money as being neutral again we're going to build upon this. This is a foundation in this money series. Just start thinking about it as neutral, “Huh,this bill was this much, interesting”, “My house payment is this much, interesting”, “My car payment is this much, interesting”, “My paycheck was this much this month…interesting”. What if you didn't make any of that mean anything about. you? And to kind of piggyback on that a part of all of this we'll get into this in another week but and no matter what how you live your life how you spend your money and what you do for a living. Whatever, I want to I want to introduce this to you be willing to be misunderstood be willing to be misunderstood.I think there's some incredibly important pillars for leadership for leading.

I was doing a training call on Friday, and I was kind of rising them up to a higher level and some of the pillars that I was talking about is leaders steer aspiring leaders and take extreme ownership, and leaders are problem solvers and in all of those areas. You have to be willing to be misunderstood. So as you're learning and gleaning and growing and money and as you're becoming more neutral about what you choose to make it mean other people are still going to choose to make it mean things. So the choices that you make they may judge you. You have to be willing to be misunderstood. Me teach you a little trick, like what it feesl like to be misunderstood. It usually feels like “Oh I don't want people to think that about me, or that's not who I really am” it may make you feel sad or make make you feel grief. It may make you feel angry defensive like whatever that is for you. You get to start noticing. And then you get to take a deep breath. It's okay, if somebody misunderstands you it's part of you moving forward. You don't have time to explain yourself to everybody and you don't have to because the truth sets you free. The truth comes to light in the end. But be okay with being misunderstood and this week start thinking about everything around money as neutral, get curious with yourself - “Huh, why did I react that way? Huh why did I think that way? Why did I judge that person. What am I making this amount mean about me. And come back next week we're going to build upon it and it's going to get better and brighter and juicier and juicier. But for this week look at money as neutral. Have fun. Let me know how it goes!

Hey guys welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose Podcast! I'm Jessica Hefley ,and we're going to talk about why it's been so hard for me to wake up in the winter. I've got some thoughts. We're going to process and walk through and this is really interesting to me so I'm really been pondering that. I was pondering this. You know it's January Twenty something now, and I'm recording this and I have been pondering this for a while, and I wanted to share it with you because I think there's some really interesting insights. Okay, so usually because this has so taken me by surprise. Usually I am so excited for New Year's. Building up to New Year's, even in November I'm already thinking about what are my goals. What are the things I want for the New Year? What's my word going to be? You know all those things, and so I'm mindful that if it is it my season. Yeah, we just moved into a new house in October. Listen to the last couple episodes that explain some of that process and my sabbatical and all that. But. It was just so interesting to me that this New Year's in particular I wasn't that excited about it. I wasn't gung-ho about my new goals and getting really ah pumped up about all the areas in my life and all the different area things that I want to improve and focus on and and it really was really interesting because. I loved that for so long and kind of coinciding with that I've been reading through the old testament and just read through some things which I find incredibly fascinating and just in the okay first of all our calendar is not the original calendar of Jesus back in the Bible that that calendar passed it started around March was their beginning of their New Year okay so I don't know where we messed up. You can go down that rabbit hole. You can find some lots of interesting things but our calendar does not line up. Okay, so let's just think about this objectively. Okay, when is a natural time for it in in the in the year and the seasons when's the natural time when you are inspired to do things inspired to clean to go outside to exercise more to just come alive to grow. Okay, it's spring right. And what's the natural tendency of when it's cold outside and dark outside and snowy outside it is too rest to stay inside to heal to get warm to do less movement and so I'm just finding.

All of this incredibly interesting with the natural I think as I am growing spiritually and also as I am growing just emotionally with life coaching tools and getting real curious about things. I just found that interesting but I found that interesting because I was having so much trouble getting up in the morning. And there are seasons when I am incredibly disciplined and it's but I am when I wake up to get my kids up for school and it is still dark it is doing something to me and I can't I can't get my thoughts around it I can't you know think my way you know think a new thought to get me out of this and just thinking naturally, let's go back to also objectivelyback in the good old days the farmers they woke up with the sun and went to bed when the sun went down back in the olden days when they didn't have electricity. They did the same thing. They woke up when the light came out or when the rooster crowed and at night they didn't have electricity so they went to bed and so it's just all these circadian this natural rhythms are just finding it really interesting to me that how non naturalural it is to get up. So much before the sun rises and I was just having a really hard time it was is this the time change but I don't remember having this heart of a time with it for so long in the past. So it really really got me and just curious about that and so I was wondering tell I would love to know common or. But I put this on Instagram put that you know tell me how the new Year's the time change the darkness whatever is doing for you but it also freed me up because I also was having a little bit of guilt, like, wait I don't have all these huge and ambitious goals around January 1st,is something wrong with me? Am I not being a good leader that I'm not gung-ho about this right now? And so it's really interesting to explore that with curiosity and compassion too, and some of the 2 biggest words and that I teach and we explore and coach in great detail and inside of Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship. It just was super interesting to me that I actually know nothing is wrong with me because I actually live my life in twelve week increments I teach people the twelve week breakthrough which is a way to set goals within ninety days which I think is excellent and you also don't have to wait till January first or you don't have to wait till spring or you don't have to wait till the beginning of a month to start those. It is a one of a kind framework that really, really gets nitty gritty. First of all getting really clear about what you want in the next twelve weeks but also why we go 7 levels deep with your why. We do. We anticipate the obstacles that will come up ahead of time and already have solutions planned for when those come up, we go we go on around our thoughts and what ah rewards you'll give yourself when you achieve the go. Anyways, it's very in-depth that it's way more than just writing a goal on a piece of paper and wishing that it'll happen and it's it's transformative. so I do that throughout my year and so I'm focusing on certain things I have goals for how many people I want to reach in my mentorship and my coaching program. How many podcasts I want to put out a wee and that I want to read the old testament. So I'm really marathoning that but those are some of my current goals but it was just interesting to me and I want to. To say this because winter is it's time that it naturally again naturally or we can say in the natural realm I want I want to operate from the spiritual realm but in the natural realm. It's dark. There's less sunlight. You're getting less vitamin D which is highly associated with depression. t's just easier to feel those feelings or to feel as if you may be depressed or lonely or apathetic and I just want to break that off of you in Jesus name I want to. Want to teach you how to have the authority to break that off to be aware that that's happening and to fight back against that last night I was listening to a podcast by John Eldridge and they have a wild at heart ministry and podcast. It's really great. My husband is a part of man alive. There's local ones all over the country that have broken out from what they were taught at wild at heart from John Eldridge I think the book is called yeah wild at heart it was a book that John Eldridge wrote Twenty five years ago bestseller it's a great book and then there's a woman version called “Captivating” I highly encourage you guys to check those out to really recapture the heart of a man. And the heart of a woman. Maybe even in today's pop culture society going back to how God created man and woman the man is made for adventure and to rescue a woman and to fight for what is right? and there's certain things about a woman that God innately made within them. It's really interesting, but what he was talking about last night was doing a 2 part series and it was just on I what I took away from it is that there's so many words when it talk when it talks about spiritual warfare in the bible. They're active words they're not passive things we are to fight for this. We are to call things forth. We are to put on the armor of God. They are active words. They're not passive words, so I was just really encouraged I'll say when I was listening to that, to share that with you guys in this winterish gloomy season to really encourage you and push into you to fight back against loneliness, depression or apathy . To go back to be reminded of what your purpose is and what your mission is and why you are here and why you have this business in the first place and why it is important for you to take the steps to create more peace, in order to make more money. Why that is important because you're going to get in this season 1 of my episodes. Previously where I was, it's just easier not to do it okay it is and especially in the winter. It's easier not to do it. But I just want to do let you know let you off not off the hook and I mean I don't have the permission I don't have the power to do that. But just if you are also feeling a little bit of guilt and shame. They don't have these massive goals. You're not going to go run a marathon January 1st.

That was another thing I was remembering as I was I was trying to think of some notes for this podcast episode is years ago I did do a half marathon I know I know you're impressed right? Jessica who literally hates running. so that's good for you. Let me tell you this that is good for you in seasons of your life to do something you absolutely hate. Okay, or I am all I am very much about living in alignment with your you know your values which what with what gotts told you to do being curious with your thoughts and feelings and actions. But sometimes you got to push yourself. You gotta do hard things. But anyways when I did a half marathon years ago I so remember they started training in January and that was horrible getting up when it's dark outside and it's cold, if you know. Have lofty goals of running a marathon or making $1,000,000 in the next six weeks you know it's okay, but be pick something that you can be consistent in this winter. But so when I look at for example for me when I look at exercise goals. There are seasons when I've done 75 hard. There are seasons when I'm done very consistent weight hard heavy lifting weight straight weight lifting training and there's a season right now and where it's winter or there was a season a couple months ago and I was very much traveling a lot we were in the heat of the home building process. It was a very stressful season for me. Which also is taxing on your body. We're going to do some health episodes coming up soon. But it's really tax if you're an incredibly stressful state. It may be detrimental for you to be doing excruciatingly hard and taxing hit workout exercise regimens or heavy lifting there is. Season. So anyways, listen to your body in the season but be consistent. So if you're not your goal is not to do couched 5 k and go run three miles a day do twenty five pushups and twenty five squats every day do something to be consistent. If you're in a season in your business where you're not “ I'm going to reach my next goal in the next ninety days and I'm going to push, push fresh pressure.” If you're not in that season there are seasons for that if that's not if that's not you today. Still ask yourself what can I do today? What can I do daily in my business. To maintain consistency. Okay, so anyways, this as I I hope you guys know? Do you know the song Seasons by Hill Song, it came also came to mind and I was thinking about doing this episode with you guys. So I just wanted to share that with you that that this winter is . Really funking me out but I'm taking active steps to be consistent but also especially since last night be encouraged to actively pray against that actively and meditate on specific scriptures that go against the spirit of depression or loneliness or apathy or how you can cast those things off, you can say I break that. And the name of Jesus I'm not coming in agreement with that. Get off of me sometimes I physically will wipe things off of me sometimes I'll go around with oil and and pray over my house and anoint it and just it's just another act of obedience to show that I am dedicating this to the Lord. I am calling on the lord to be present here to fight for us here to he is welcome here, anyways, so this all this might be a great time to go back in I did a five part series years ago on spiritual warfare which was a great great series for beginners and experts alike on how for you to take authority of your home, your life, your business and some really tangible and practical tips in that but I'm going to sign off for now. Seriously let me know. I think I'm just longing to not feel alone in this. But I really do know that I am not alone in this. That this winter is different. And how I have been setting goals some of it may do with the climate of the world. We're in an election year 2024 who knows what's going to happen. Let me give you a little bit of advice for the 2024 year is to hold onto it loosely. I have some really, really, really, really, really exciting travel plans this year with my family. We're going to some really exciting places. I will tell you guys all about it. They're big memorable once in a lifetime trips. But I'm also mindful that it is 2024 the who knows?I just hold life a little bit looser and my plans are not set in stone because you know. We never thought 2020 would happen but the world could shut down. It could not I have no idea. It's kind of fun for it to be “Oh I have no idea it's going to happen, but I am not holding on”, plans very much could change, but I am. To be consistent I'm going to be gentle on myself in the winter. I'm so excited for spring and the natural and motivation and inspiration that comes with that. But in the winter don't just do nothing. This is a great time to reflect to journal to be consistent and even to plan. But what you do want to do in the spring. So God Bless you, God Bless your family ,God Bless you as you fight for you and your family and your businesses, and God Bless you and your consistency. We'll see you inside of Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship.
